William Green Miller (August 15, 1931 - September 23, 2019) was an American scholar and diplomat who served as the
United States Ambassador to Ukraine under Bill Clinton, from 1993 to 1998.[1]
Education
He went to college and graduate school at Williams College in 1953, the University of Oxford and Harvard University.[1]
Diplomat
In 1959, he joined the United States Foreign Service.[1] From 1959 to 1964, he served as a diplomat in Iran.[1] He then worked as a staffer for Secretary of State Dean Rusk, and in the Senate for John Sherman Cooper.[1]
From 1981 to 1983, he served as Associate Dean and Professor of International Politics at the
United States Ambassador to Ukraine.[1]
He was a Senior Policy Scholar at the
John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.[1]
Miller died on September 23, 2019, in his home in Virginia.[6]
