bridgeOS is an

SSD encryption, and cooling fans.[6]

At boot time, the bootloader executes the bridgeOS kernel, then the bridgeOS kernel passes off to the UEFI firmware.[7]

bridgeOS is based on Apple's watchOS.[8]
