  1. ^ Although passed 1983, and despite the heading to the Queen's Printer edition stating that the act is the Pet Animals Act 1951 (Amendment) Act 1983 (which is how the act is invariably cited), the section granting the short title in the act itself deems that the act is the "Pet Animals Act 1951 (Amendment) Act 1982".[4]
