Is there a reason why this season's table is transposed from the usual format, where teams were ordered inside a column first and moved to the next column once reached the bottom? I don't know why UEFA put Man United ahead of PSG in the table but according to their their rules of order, head to head points and head to head away goals are set to make ranking. If we put them in order, then PSG come first and Man United stand second; PSG have scored 3 away goals while Man United have 2 and the aggression is 4 by 3 in favour of PSG. That would be my understanding as well - but I guess if UEFA have Man utd top then we have to copy that. Utimately, there's another set of games left and it won't finish like this so

Because of Head-to-head points: Manchester United 6, Paris Saint-Germain 6, RB Leipzig 3. Head-to-head goal difference: Manchester United +4, Paris Saint-Germain +1. It's just because the teams played only 5 games, not 6, not all. But I agree with Zaki Frahmand that PSG has advantage over Manchester United due to 2. Goal difference in head-to-head matches among tied teams. It's not because the teams have only played five games, it's because all three teams on nine points have been put into a mini-league that only takes into account matches between each other, as the note says. Manchester United's 5-0 win over Leipzig on MD2 gives them the best goal difference of all three teams, which is why they're top. – PeeJay 19:33, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I first thought it was because of Head-to-head points, as mentionned above, but then I remembered this sentence at the bottom of the standings on the UEFA website: "If two or more clubs are level on points, alphabetical order is applied based on full club names until teams have played each other twice, at which point the competition regulations are applied.". Here we are in this scenario: 3 clubs level on points but all teams have not played each other twice, so my understanding is that the alphabetical order is applied, until the next gameday. At this point, the head-to-head points rule will apply. What do you think? –

I remember having seen, on multiple competition articles, a detailed list at the end of each group, providing all the pathways for the next round, or for another ticket, team by team.

Was this eliminated after a discussion? Certainly those were temporary, but not much more temporary than the standings after matchday 4, which are shown, for good measure.

It would have been very convenient to have such a list for Group B, where almost everything is possible for the 4 teams before matchday 6. Do you know a website that produces them? Tabelleau (talk) 16:59, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It's just wrong all over, for example Liverpool played against Lepzig in the group stage and got knocked out by Atletico Madrid, not Real Madrid, and it was in the round of 16 not quarterfinals and with a AM 1 - LIV game and a LIV 2 - 3 AM game. 83.249.56.19 (talk) 06:29, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
