Tekton

A tekton correctly translates as a builder. Due to the scarcity of wood in the region, the most common application would have been as a stonemason. 2603:6011:A540:8300:8467:E2C5:DFC7:EEB9 (talk) 04:05, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The first bit is more or less true. The second is not. The earliest descriptions created the wood-working tradition that persists. But we don't really know. Johnbod (talk) 12:21, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Jesus had golden hair and blue eyes?

The letter from Pontius Pilate to Julius Ceaser describes Jesus as having golden hair and blue eyes.

Why is this not mentioned in the article anywhere? That's some massive evidence!! 2A02:8388:193C:DD00:602A:3C9:ADBE:FD5D (talk) 08:05, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The letter is a complete fake. Johnbod (talk) 12:13, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is little controversy over Jesus' appearance

There is little controversy among scholars or Christian clergy today about Jesus appearance: he looked like a Middle-Easter Jew, similar to other Middle Eastern peoples, with tan skin and black hair. The very first sentence states this. But then the article gives a great deal of space to ideas from centuries ago, and ideas from racist ideologies, which have no scholarly support. They should all be put under a top-level heading "Non-historical Ideas of Jesus' Appearance", or in a separate article.

All the photos in the article are ahistorical. The first photo in the article should be of a Middle Eastern Jew, such as from History of the Jews in Iraq. Ttulinsky (talk) 22:14, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Jewish Skulls

A Jewish neurocranium is much more robust than a non-Jewish one.[1] תיל"ם (talk) 11:51, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
