Copyright problem
This article has come up for review as part of a contributor copyright investigation. I'm afraid that review reveals that it lifts too much and too directly from copyrighted sources.
From http://www.warsawvoice.pl/view/2102
- "While in Venice, he earned the reputation as a highly skilled painter of battle scenes." The source says, "in Venice he earned a reputation as a highly valued painter of battle scenes."
- "Tylman served the Lubomirski family until the end of his life." The source says, "Tylman served the Lubomirski family until the end of his life."
- "the artist was appointed Golden Spur Knight, a title equivalent to nobility status. This allowed him to fully settle in Poland and marry a Pole, Anna from Komorów.[1]" The source says, "the artist was appointed Golden Spur Knight, a title equivalent to nobility status. This allowed him to fully settle in Poland and marry a Pole, Anna from Komorów."
From http://www.warsawvoice.pl/printArticle.php?a=2827
- Especially problematic, the whole paragraph that begins "Work by Tylman van Gameren was the grand urban project...." is taken straight form the source, with minimal changes.
- "Tylman died in Warsaw and was buried in the Dominican Observant Friars' Church on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, on the site of today's Staszic Palace and Copernicus monument." The source says, "Tylman died in Warsaw and was buried in the Dominican Observant Friars' Church on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, on the site of today's Staszic Palace and Copernicus monument."
From http://www.culture.pl/en/culture/artykuly/wy_wy_tylman_gameren_zamek_warszawa
- "His architectural works are characterized by exceptional clarity in the composition of volumes, rational planning of interiors, and spare decoration." The source says, "His architectural works are characterized by exceptional clarity in the composition of volumes, rational planning of interiors, and spare decoration."
From http://www.buw.uw.edu.pl/en/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=169&Itemid=123
- "A unique on the European scale archive of Tylman van Gameren's work...include over 800 original design drawings of ecclesiastical buildings (including the Sisters of the Holy Sacrament Church and the Bernardine Church in Czerniaków district), epitaphs, tombstones, palaces (i.e. Krasiński Palace), villas, manor houses, public service buildings and fortifications." The source says, "Unique on a European scale archives of Tylman van Gameren...include over 800 drawings: designs of ecclesiastical buildings (the Sisters of the Holy Sacrament church, the Bernardine church in Czerniaków district), epitaphs and tombstones, palaces (Krasiński Palace), villas, manor houses, public service buildings and fortifications."
It needs to be rewritten in original language. I am blanking to allow interested contributors an opportunity to address this. The article seems to have been clear of these concerns at this point in its history, though it was lacking sources. Some close paraphrasing issued shortly thereafter, but the bulk of the problem seem to come from March 2009. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 21:12, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for the assessment, Moonriddengirl. I'm going to try to help out. --Poeticbent talk 18:55, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. That would be much appreciated. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:46, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- Since another contributor has reverted to the March version, I've gone ahead and removed the close paraphrasing that predated. Of course, the article can be updated from this point. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:01, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. That would be much appreciated. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:46, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
