I'm currently working on a rehashed version of the 1990 Pacific typhoon season which you can see here. Could you help me with some of the sources/track maps? ''Flux55'' (talk) 16:40, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
- As of now, I do not yet have autopatrolled rights on Wikimedia Commons, as stated by me in a small sidenote of Wikipedia:WikiProject Tropical cyclones/Tracks#Current users. However, I will be applying for this right in a few days after I get enough edits on 1968 North Indian Ocean cyclone season, the season I am currently working on, and will update the track maps as soon as possible. Thank you for your consideration! 2003 LN6 (talk) 16:50, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! Also, if you have time, could you update the track map for the 1998 Andhra Pradesh cyclone (an article I created)? ''Flux55'' (talk) 17:20, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
- The track for 1998 Andhra Pradesh cyclone looks good, as the new and old colors for tropical depressions are the same. The only thing I need to change is the key, which I am doing now. Also, it appears that the cyclone was actually never fully tropical, as indicated in the IBTrACS code so I will update it later when I have time. 2003 LN6 (talk) 20:11, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
IBTrACS info
How would I import IBTrACS data to TrackGen? I'm planning to do a track map for Cyclone Dinah and need to put it in Trackgen. ''Flux55'' (talk) 18:27, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
- What TrackGen are you using? Is it an offwiki TrackGen like [1] or the official Wikipedia version? If it is an offwiki TrackGen, just paste the IBTrACS data in the BT File area. If it is the official version, then you can read the manual. 2003 LN6 (talk) 21:30, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- Not that How would I get the IBTrACS stuff in the table into something useable for TrackGen (off-wiki) ''Flux55'' (talk) 21:55, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- I would suggest getting the official JTWC data from [2] and downloading the files from there. 2003 LN6 (talk) 22:15, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- Here's the JTWC BT data.

Deletion
I specified the reason for deletion in my edit summary. The references section in Ash vs Evil Dead has a series of hidden notes containing unused references for the first, second, and third seasons of the series, from the individual episode pages at Template:Ash vs Evil Dead episodes. 2001:BB6:3A34:AA00:5D66:5BE3:5D53:3B56 (talk) 21:19, 6 February 2024 (UTC)
- I do not have information on this subject but there is a general consensus to keep the content. If there is a valid reason, post it on the talk page and others will resolve the issue. 2003 LN6 21:22, 6 February 2024 (UTC)
- No content is actually being removed is what I am trying to tell you. Look. 95 characters typed below, but it links everything, references and all, from the individual season article. So while it reads as information being removed, all that information and referencing is still being displayed. 2001:BB6:3A34:AA00:5D66:5BE3:5D53:3B56 (talk) 21:27, 6 February 2024 (UTC)

New draft
If you have time, could you work on track maps for the 1959 North Indian Ocean cyclone season. Those would really be helpful for taking the draft into article space. ''Flux55'' (talk) 21:25, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- I will make professional-quality track maps for this draft and create all sections when I have time. However, the project appears to be of low importance and I am currently working on recoloring track maps for the Atlantic hurricane seasons. Thank you! 2003 LN6 06:30, 14 February 2024 (UTC)

Dominican President
When providing information to the mass of people, please report factual information. The president of Dominican Republic is not a great person. Watch the journalist from Haiti not the news that you get from the paid media. The people in Haiti are suffering in part because of the Dominican President. The people in Haiti created a canal and the president of Dominican Repulic has diverted the water, so the people are not able to receive the water that is supposed to run between the two countries. He is a horrible man. Stop writing false narratives. Listen to the journalist that report on them. A great youtube channel is TAK509. That channel will let you know who that president really is as people die in Haiti from basic necessities. No, they can not buy food and supplies from the Dominican Republic because the food and medical supplies that they send to Haiti are poisoned and infected. For once be an outlet that tells the facts. 2603:9001:8C00:218C:D117:9F4B:C5ED:E127 (talk) 18:18, 29 March 2024 (UTC)

Rollback

Hi 2003 LN6. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
- Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Fastily 08:53, 11 April 2024 (UTC)

- Hi, thanks for discussing. As I wrote just now in my edit comment, which it does not seem that you read, "rv, you can't "update" an article by adding "new" and wholly uncited materials to the lead: it's just a summary of the article. Add what you want to the article body, cited to WP:RS, then (if need be) adjust the lead to match". I'm happy to stand by that. If the article is "outdated", then the place to update it is the article body, not the lead. Your edit immediately reduced the quality of the article in two ways: by making the lead inconsistent with the body, and by introducing an uncited claim. That is, to be clear about it, the wrong direction — worse not better. If you plan to do something, make your plans, find your sources, read WP:RS (core policies all of them), then update the article properly, and everybody will thank you for it. As for your hasty edit, it was correctly reverted, with a correct and fully explanatory edit comment. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 04:35, 15 October 2024 (UTC)

DYK for Camponotus inflatus
On 16 January 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Camponotus inflatus, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a species of Australian ant has special workers that make honey, and is considered a delicacy by Aboriginal Australians? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Camponotus inflatus. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Camponotus inflatus), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

JTWC 1 min winds
Stop putting 1 min winds without any TC number by JTWC. This is unofficial and illegal. MAS0802 06:53, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @
- Hi 2003 LN6: I hear your feedback about the 1-min peak sustained winds. I'm just want to give you some advice. Firstly, I know unnumbered systems is able to count by JTWC. But the question is, is this unnumbered systems upgraded by JTWC (TD or TS)? Although unnumbered systems is reaching 30 knots or above, you still need waiting the official reports by JTWC, you cannot writing down before JTWC is upgrading the system except another situation. For example, JTWC think this system is transitioned to a STD or STS. That is another situation without any measured by JTWC.
- Secondly, unnumbered systems is still named "Invest", that means it is not yet certain to be upgraded by JTWC. For instance, that is 3 levels of systems, "Low", "Medium" and "High". If this system has a high probability of forming a tropical cyclone. JTWC will issued it a TCFA (Tropical Cyclone Formation Alert). JTWC will determine about this system will become a tropical cyclone or cancel the warning.
- Lastly, you can use any official source to update the system after JTWC official reports is out.
- That's my advice, hope you understand what I mean in this post.
- Have a great day, Bye! MAS0802 17:06, 7 February 2025 (UTC)

- You can argue that they were tropical depressions because of the tracking data provided by NRL etc but without a formal advisory or designation from the JTWC or the NWS stating such, we enter the territory of original research because of the way the infobox works. - The point was that on numbered systems, we are not classifying the system as a tropical cyclone or x, but on unnumbered systems, we would be, which is why we enter the realms of OR. Comparing the numbers from the tracking data for numbered systems does indeed fall under WP:Calc, but we can also look at various resources such as the JTWC ATCR's & BT files.Jason Rees (talk) 00:40, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

- Yeah this also extends to the addition of systems that have not been publicly classified as tropical depressions by the JTWC or the NWS in Pago Pago. Jason Rees (talk) 23:54, 19 February 2025 (UTC)

- No because the JTWC have not issued any advisories on these systems or called them Tropical Depressions publicly - you are assuming that they are tropical depressions based on the automated tropical cyclone forecast system which says that they are tropical depressions because they have 25/30 kts winds. Over the years, the rule has been we only mark a system as being a TD or a TS when the JTWC has initiated advisories on it. Jason Rees (talk) 01:03, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
