The outreach department of WikiProject Film is a centralized work area for project recruitment and member interaction efforts. The major programs currently underway are a monthly project newsletter and a welcoming message for new members of the project; further ideas are always welcome, of course!
Unregistered users
Members of WikiProject Film are encouraged to invite unregistered users to register accounts on Wikipedia. Members can invite unregistered users by going to their user talk pages and pasting {{subst:Register|~~~~}} there. Please review unregistered users' contribution history to see if they have made a series of valid contributions to ensure that they are not dynamic IP addresses who may miss the invitation due to having a different IP address the next time they edit. Unregistered users who participate in talk page discussions should be especially invited as they are likely to be more responsive to invitations. Inviting potential members
Members of WikiProject Film are encouraged to invite registered editors to join the WikiProject. Please extend the invitation to editors who have made contributions to film-related articles or have participated in discussions about film-related topics. They can be invited by pasting {{subst:WPFILM Invite|~~~~}} on their talk page. The template will automatically create a section heading.

Welcoming new members

Below is a template that a new member can receive to learn about the different resources that WikiProject Film can offer. Hey, welcome to WikiProject Film! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of films, awards, festivals, filmmaking, and film characters. If you haven't already, please add {{User WikiProject Film}} to your user page.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Most of our important discussions about the project itself and its related articles take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has a monthly newsletter. The newsletter for January and February has been published. The issue is currently in production; it will be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There is a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Want to jump right into editing? The style guidelinesshow things you should include.
- Want to assist in some current backlogs within the project? Visit the Announcements template to see how you can help.
- Want to see some great film article examples? Head on over to the spotlight department.
- Want to know how good our articles are? Our assessment department has rated the quality of the majority of film article in Wikipedia. Check it out!
