The characters of the American fantasy-drama television series Once Upon a Time and its spin-off Once Upon a Time in Wonderland are renditions of classic fairy tale and fantasy characters.

Once Upon A Time

Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), a bails bond agent and her son, Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) discover that a town named Storybrooke is actually a remnant of a parallel world that was cursed by the Evil Queen Regina (Lana Parrilla). The characters originate from different realms in the land, most notably the Enchanted Forest. They initially have no memory of who they were, including the parents of Emma: Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas), who sent her to the real world to break the curse. Following the curse being broken by Emma, Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) brings magic to Storybrooke and the characters are reunited, but cannot leave without losing their original memories. Outsiders Greg Mendell (Ethan Embry) and Tamara (Sonequa Martin-Green) arrive in Storybrooke and carry out their quest to destroy magic from the town. After failing, the pair kidnap Henry to Neverland, leaving Emma, Mary Margaret, David, Regina, Mr. Gold and Captain Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) to rescue him.

Upon arrival in Neverland, Rumplestiltskin's father Peter Pan (

Emma Swan is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, Henry Mills' birth mother, and older sister of Neal Nolan. She is the main protagonist of the series, known as "The Savior".

When Snow White becomes pregnant, Geppetto forms a magical wardrobe for her and Charming, after Rumplestiltskin informs them that their daughter is the key to breaking the Evil Queen's curse in 28 years. Emma is born shortly after and placed in the wardrobe, successfully travelling to the new land.[3] In the real world, Emma grows up in foster care, bouncing from various families, one including Sarah Fisher's (the Snow Queen). As a teenager, Emma becomes a petty criminal with Neal Cassidy. They plan to start a new life in Tallahassee, Florida, until Neal is persuaded by August Booth (Pinocchio) to turn Emma over to the police, to protect her destiny. Emma is jailed, later giving birth to Henry,[4] whom she gives up for adoption to give him a better life; he is then adopted by Regina Mills (the Evil Queen).[5] After some time in prison, Emma becomes a bail bond agent and a police officer, where she catches criminals. On her 28th birthday, a ten-year-old Henry arrives in Boston, explaining Emma's origins. Disbelieving him, she returns him home to Regina in Storybrooke, who becomes worried that Emma wants to be in Henry's life. Regina's repeated warnings to leave town and keep out of Henry's life make Emma decide to stay.[3]

In Storybrooke, Emma initially wants Henry to let go of his theories of the curse, but later plays along.[6] She moves in with Mary Margaret (Snow White), unaware that they are related, and Sheriff Graham appoints Emma his deputy as the two form an attraction,[7] until Regina crushes his heart, causing him to die in Emma's arms.[8] Emma is soon elected sheriff, assisting in the arrest of Mary Margaret for the alleged murder of Kathryn Nolan, until she is found alive.[9] When August Booth (Pinocchio) arrives in Storybrooke revealing her destiny of breaking the curse, a pressured Emma decides to leave the town, not wanting Henry to suffer from her and Regina's feud. Regina, however, attempts to poison Emma, though Henry willingly consumes it to prove that magic exists.[10] Emma finally believes, but Henry is pronounced dead. However, he is awoken with true love's kiss from Emma, thus breaking the curse and allowing all residents to remember their true identities.[11] Emma reunites with her parents, only to fall through a portal with her mother to the Enchanted Forest.[12] They meet Princess Aurora and Mulan who help them return to Storybrooke.[13][14] Emma then helps Mr. Gold travel to Manhattan to locate his son Baelfire, who she discovers is Henry's father Neal.[4] Returning to Storybrooke, Emma deals with newcomers Greg Mendell and Neal's fiancé Tamara.[15] Emma's skeptical theories on the pair are proven correct when it is revealed they want to destroy magic.[16] After Emma and Regina stop their trigger to destroy Storybrooke, Henry is taken to Neverland by Greg and Tamara; Emma, her parents, Regina, Hook and Mr. Gold follow them.[17] The team eventually manage to rescue Henry from the sinister Peter Pan,[18][19] and return to Storybrooke.[20] However, Pan enacts the original curse once more, forcing Emma and Henry to leave Storybrooke after Regina reverses her curse, erasing the events following its enactment. Emma's past is temporarily altered by Regina and she lives with Henry in New York City instead of giving him up for adoption.[21]

One year after the curse's reversal, Hook restores Emma's memories with a potion and the two return to Storybrooke with Henry to save her family by breaking the new curse caused by Zelena, the Wicked Witch of the West.[22] She finds Neal trapped within Mr. Gold's body, thus causing him to lose his mind. Neal asks for Emma to free his father by killing himself to defeat Zelena; she reluctantly agrees.[23] Regina later helps Emma to strengthen her magical powers, though they are removed when Zelena curses Hook.[24] After Emma and Hook are dragged into Zelena's time portal, she accepts Storybrooke as her home, regaining her magic to re-open the portal to the present where she begins a relationship with Hook. However, unaware to her, she also brings a previously deceased Maid Marian to the future, shattering her growing friendship with Regina, whom Emma hopes will accept her as a friend despite their differences. The two later regain their friendship to defeat the Snow Queen with Elsa, who helps Emma to finally embrace her powers fully and control them. When Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff leave Emma learns that Mr. Gold is back to his evil ways. Emma also learns that Gold has Hook's heart and she gets it back and puts it back in him. Emma later learns that Regina wants to find the writer of the book.

Jared S. Gilmore
Henry Mills is Emma Swan and Neal Cassidy's son, whom she gave up for adoption after giving birth soon after getting released from jail.[3][14] He is also Snow White, Prince Charming and Rumplestiltskin's grandson, and the great-grandson of the latter's father's alias Peter Pan. He is adopted by Regina Mills (the Evil Queen), who finds him through Mr. Gold (Rumplestiltskin); Henry is named after Regina's father.[5]

An older Henry receives his cherished book of fairy tales from his teacher Mary Margaret Blanchard (Snow White), discovering that the residents of Storybrooke are characters from it after noticing he is the only one in town who ages.[20] His realization of Regina's true identity strains his relationship with her, and she sends him to regular therapy sessions with Dr. Archie Hopper to end his belief in the curse.[5] Hoping to break the curse, Henry finds his biological mother Emma Swan in Boston and brings her to Storybrooke.[3] He eventually convinces her of the truth by consuming a sleeping curse intended for her by Regina,[10] nearly resulting in him dying. However, he is awoken with true love's kiss by Emma, which also breaks the curse.[11] Emma and Mary Margaret are then dragged into a portal, leaving David (Prince Charming) to look after him.[12] Following the death of Regina's mother Cora, and her vowing to avenge Mary Margaret, Henry seeks to remove magic from Storybrooke. When Emma and Regina stop the trigger enacted by Greg Mendell and Tamara from destroying the town, he is kidnapped by the pair and taken to Neverland, where it is revealed that Peter Pan (Henry's great-grandfather) wants possession of him as he owns "the heart of the truest believer".[17][26] Pan eventually persuades Henry to give him his heart, putting it into Pan's body, telling him it will save magic.[27] Regina reclaims the heart and resurrects Henry. However, Pan inhabits Henry's body in Storybrooke,[20] until Gold corrects the bodies. However, Pan enacts the original curse again, forcing Emma and Henry to leave Storybrooke forever. Regina erases the events following the curse's enactment, and gives the pair new happy memories. Henry's past is altered and instead of being put up for adoption, he lives with Emma in New York City.[21] A year later, Hook restores Emma's memories,[21] leading her to return to Storybrooke with both Henry and Hook to save their family.[22] With no memories, Henry is initially confused and suspicious of Emma's decision to relocate to Storybrooke, until Emma restores his memories with his book. Henry later helps Regina to search for his storybook's writer. When Emma's magic goes out of control, after being manipulated by the Snow Queen, Henry tries to help calm her down, only to end up getting injured. He joins Mary Margret, David, Regina, and the others in their hunt for Emma. After the search is over, he watched Emma's display in the sky, when the Snow Queen decides to enact the Spell of Shattered Sight. Later on, Regina seals Henry in her office, to prevent other people from hurting him when the spell engulfs Storybrooke. Henry, after the spell, shows Emma and Regina a room full of empty books in the same house that Gold and Belle had their honeymoon at.

Snow White is the daughter of King Leopold and Queen Eva, and later stepdaughter of the Evil Queen Regina.[3][29] She is the true love of Prince Charming, mother of Emma Swan and Neal Nolan, and later grandmother of Emma's son Henry.

As a young girl, Snow White's mother dies when Cora poisons her, in an attempt to make her daughter Regina Queen. Snow is later rescued from a runaway horse by Regina, which leads to her having a loveless marriage with Snow's father. After Regina assumes the throne by killing the King, she recruits the Huntsman to kill Snow, but he ends up sparing her for her selflessness.[8] Snow then lives in the forest, meeting Prince David while robbing him who she nicknames Charming. The pair fall in love, but he returns to his fiancée Princess Abigail.[7] though the Evil Queen holds him captive.[30] In exchange for Charming's life, Snow eats an apple from the Queen containing a sleeping curse.[16] Charming breaks free of his imprisonment and awakens her with true love's kiss. The two are later married, though the Evil Queen announces her curse to destroy their happiness. Snow gives birth to Emma and she is placed in a magical wardrobe and transported to the real world as the curse takes hold.[3]

In Storybrooke, she appears as Mary Margaret Blanchard, Henry Mills' teacher at Storybrooke Elementary School.[3] As a part-time volunteer at the General Hospital, she awakens David Nolan (Prince Charming) from his coma, and the pair gradually fall in love, despite David's marriage to Kathryn Nolan (Princess Abigail).[7] Beginning a secret relationship, the affair becomes public and David's marriage breaks down. Mary Margaret becomes an outcast in the town,[31][32][33] and is arrested for Kathryn's "murder" after fake evidence is discovered.[34] Kathryn is later found alive, though Mary Margaret's relationship with David becomes strained as he did not believe her innocence.[35] He decides to leave Storybrooke, but the two are reunited when the curse is broken, and they regain their memories.[11] The two find Emma, only for Mary Margaret to be transported with her back to the remaining Enchanted Forest through a portal, though they manage to return to Storybrooke.[13] After Regina and her mother Cora attempt to gain power by killing Mr. Gold, Mary Margaret curses Cora's heart with the same candle that Cora used to kill her mother Eva and tricks Regina into killing her. She pleads for Regina to kill her when she cannot deal with what she has done, but she instead taunts her. When Henry is kidnapped and taken to Neverland, she travels with Emma, David, Regina, Mr. Gold, and Captain Hook to rescue him.[17] Upon returning to the town with Henry, Peter Pan enacts Regina's curse again,[36] leading Mary Margaret to be returned to the Enchanted Forest with the other inhabitants, while Emma and Henry escape to New York City.[21]

Back in the Enchanted Forest, Snow learns she is pregnant but discovers that Zelena, the Wicked Witch of the West wants her baby. Snow and Charming realize they must enact a new curse to return to Emma and stop Zelena. A reassuring David lets Snow crush his heart, though she later requests Regina split Snow's heart to give to both of them. Zelena then adds a forgetting potion to the curse, causing them to lose their memories of the past year. A year later, Emma returns to Storybrooke, learning her mother is pregnant. Zelena plots to steal the baby by becoming her mid-wife,[22] though she is ultimately defeated and Mary Margaret gives birth to a son, whom she names after Henry's father and Rumplestiltkin's son, Neal. Mary Margaret later becomes the Mayor of Storybrooke.

Prince "Charming" David David Nolan Josh Dallas 1, 2, 3, 4 74[37] Alive
Josh Dallas
Prince David is the true love of Snow White, as well as the father of their daughter Emma Swan and son Neal Nolan, and grandfather of Henry.

David was originally a poor shepherd whose twin brother James was given to King George as an heir in a deal with Rumplestiltskin. When James is killed in battle, David takes his brother's name in exchange for the prosperity of his mother Ruth's farm. King Midas declares David fit to marry his daughter Abigail and unite the kingdoms. However, David wants to marry for love, but George vows to kill his mother if he declines.[38] Before his marriage, he falls in love with Snow White, who nicknames him Charming,[7] later inviting her to run away. After continuous interceptions by George, the Evil Queen Regina captures him to convince Snow to willingly eat an apple containing a sleeping curse.[16][31] He later awakens her and the pair marry, before Regina announces that she will cast a curse to destroy their happiness. Rumplestiltskin informs them that their expected child will break the curse in 28 years. Emma is born shortly before the curse takes hold, and Charming places her in a magical wardrobe to protect her from the curse, before being wounded by the Queen's knights.[3]

In Storybrooke, he first appears as a John Doe, who has gone unidentified for years.[3] He awakens after Mary Margaret (Snow White) reads him their story. He reunites with his wife Kathryn (Princess Abigail), and is identified as David Nolan.[7] David suffers from amnesia and cannot remember his fake life with Kathryn. He falls in love with Mary Margaret and begins an affair with her,[31] ending his marriage to Kathryn, who is soon reported as being murdered[32] - a plan arranged between Regina Mills and Mr. Gold. David becomes a suspect in her disappearance, until evidence against Mary Margaret is found.[34] Kathryn is found alive, though David's relationship with Mary Margaret becomes strained, as he did not believe her innocence.[30][35] He decides to move to Boston, though the curse is broken shortly after, and he reunites with Snow and Emma.[11] David agrees to send a wraith released into Storybrooke through a portal, though Emma and Mary Margaret are dragged with it. David looks after Henry while Emma and Mary Margaret are absent.[12] After failing attempts of transportation, David falls under a sleeping curse to communicate with Mary Margaret. He is awoken by true love's kiss when the two return. When Henry is kidnapped to Neverland, David travels with Mary Margaret, Emma, Regina, Mr. Gold, and Captain Hook in order to rescue him from Peter Pan.[17] In Neverland, David is poisoned by Dreamshade,[18] though Hook partially cures him and the group successfully return to Storybrooke where Mr. Gold fully heals him.[39] After Pan enacts the original curse once more, David is returned to his original world with the remaining inhabitants, while Emma and Henry escape to New York City.[21]

Back in the Enchanted Forest, David learns that Snow is pregnant but also discovers that Zelena, the Wicked Witch of the West wants their baby. The two realize they must enact a new curse to return to Storybrooke and make Emma stop Zelena. A reassuring David lets Snow crush his heart, though she later asks Regina to split her heart in two to give to both of them. Zelena then adds a forgetting potion to the curse, removing their memories of the past year. A year later, Emma returns to Storybrooke, and David and Mary Margaret reveal they are having a baby.[22] Zelena poses as the couple's mid-wife, stealing a symbol of David's courage from him.[40] Zelena is ultimately defeated and Mary Margaret gives birth to a son, whom she names after Henry's father and Rumplestiltkin's son, Neal.

Evil Queen
Regina Mills Lana Parrilla 1, 2, 3, 4 75[41] Alive
Lana Parrilla
Regina Mills is the daughter of Cora and Henry, adopted mother of Henry Mills, and half sister of Zelena, the Wicked Witch of the West.[42] She later becomes the second wife of King Leopold and step-mother of Snow White.[29]

As a young woman, Regina's mother sets up her marrying King Leopold, killing Regina's first love Daniel to prevent her running off with him.[43] Since Snow revealed to Cora Regina's attraction to Daniel, Regina vows to destroy Snow's happiness.[8] She meets Rumplestiltskin who teaches her magic and helps her send Cora through a looking glass to Wonderland. She remains unhappy in her loveless relationship, using a Genie to kill the King,[29] making her ruler of Leopold's realm, and thereafter being known as the Evil Queen.[8] An older Snow White and Prince Charming banish Regina to take back the kingdom, though Rumplestiltskin persuades her to cast his curse by killing her father, taking everyone to the real world.[3][5]

In Storybrooke, she is Mayor Regina Mills.[3] With Mr. Gold (Rumplestiltskin)'s help, she adopts a baby whom she names Henry, unaware of his relations.[3][5] Regina originally sends him to therapy sessions with Dr. Archie Hopper to stop his beliefs in the curse.[7] She has a sexual relationship with Sheriff Graham (the Huntsman), but crushes his heart when he breaks up with her.[8] The power struggle between Regina and Rumplestiltskin continues in Storybrooke where she is often at odds with Mr. Gold.[44][45] Initially unbeknownst to him, Regina kept Gold's true love Belle captive, after telling him she had died.[46] She tries to prevent the relationship between David Nolan (Prince Charming) and Mary Margaret Blanchard (Snow White), by implicating her in David's wife Kathryn Nolan (Princess Abigail)'s false murder.[7] When Henry's birth mother Emma Swan arrives in Storybrooke, Regina desperately seeks to remove her from his life, resorting to attempting to poison her. However, Henry willingly consumes the curse instead, dying shortly after. Emma finally believes,[16] awakening Henry with true love's kiss and breaking the curse.[11] After her mother arrives in Storybrooke, Cora convinces Regina to obtain the Dark One's dagger to gain power, though she later dies during the fight to protect Mr. Gold. Henry is then kidnapped and taken to Neverland by new arrivals Greg and Tamara, after they are stopped by Regina and Emma from destroying Storybrooke. Regina travels with Emma, Mary Margaret, David, Mr. Gold, and Captain Hook,[17] eventually managing to rescue Henry from the evil Peter Pan,[27] and return to Storybrooke.[20] However, Pan enacts Regina's curse once more,[36] forcing her to reverse the original curse returning her and the remaining inhabitants to their original worlds while Emma and Henry escape to New York City.[21]

Back in the Enchanted Forest, Regina struggles to come to terms with the loss of Henry, though Mary Margaret and Robin Hood persuade her to move forward.[22] Regina soon learns she is half-sisters with Zelena, the Wicked Witch of the West. To save them from Zelena's threats, Regina helps Snow and David enact a new curse to return to Storybrooke, before Zelena adds a forgetting potion to it. With no memories of the past year, Regina faces the struggle of Henry's lost memories of her in Storybrooke until his book restores his memories and she breaks the curse with true love's kiss, restoring the residents' memories of the past year. She meanwhile forms a bond with Robin Hood, which turns romantic after she learns he is her soul mate.[47] Zelena later obtains Regina's heart as an ingredient in her scheme to change the past, though Regina uses her newly discovered light power to defeat her. After Emma and Hook are dragged into Zelena's time portal, they inadvertently return with Maid Marian, who was originally sentenced to death by Regina. To the anger of Regina, Marian, Robin, and Roland are reunited, causing a schism in her own relationship with Robin. Marian is later frozen by the Snow Queen, leading Regina to find a cure for her to help Robin. Meanwhile, Regina and Henry seek to discover the writer of his book, believing that the events depicted, are the cause of her suffering. Regina later puts Marian's heart back in her, and realizes that Marian, Robin Hood and Roland have to leave Storybrooke. Regina later learns that the writer might be in Storybrooke.

His father uses the bean to take them to Neverland, though he forces Rumplestiltskin to be returned to the Enchanted Forest, realizing his son is preventing him from becoming a boy again. Rumplestiltskin witnesses as his father transforms into Peter Pan. In his adult years, Rumplestiltskin is a poor spinner who deserts from the Ogre Wars, to the disgust of his wife Milah, who leaves him for the pirate Killian Jones. Rumplestiltskin is then tricked by Zoso and eventually becomes the Dark One. Rumplestiltskin kills Milah and cuts off Jones' hand, making him Captain Hook. He prevents his son Baelfire being forced to join the wars,[44] though Bae wants rid of his powers, creating a portal to transport them to a world without magic. Rumplestiltskin fears losing his powers, leaving Bae to cross over alone; he vows to find his son.[35] He trains Zelena, the Wicked Witch of the West, until she becomes jealous of his continued teaching of her half-sister, the Evil Queen Regina, who he chooses to cast his curse. As part of a deal to save her town, Belle becomes the caretaker of his estate and the two form a romantic bond until Rumplestiltskin forces her to leave forever, mistaking her for working with Regina, who later claims that Belle committed suicide. Soon afterwards, Prince Charming and Snow White use squid ink to immobilize, and placed him into a magical jail.[45] Regina enacts his curse, and he requests that she give him a place of comfort in the "new world" that they will be sent to.[5]

In Storybrooke, he is Mr. Gold, the owner of a

pawn shop and the town's wealthiest resident. He remembers his true identity,[46] and owns most of the town.[3] He finds Regina a baby whom she names Henry, only for her to later learn that he is Emma Swan's biological son.[5] He helps Emma become Sheriff,[44] and offers his legal services to Mary Margaret Blanchard (Snow White).[30] Emma eventually breaks the curse and Gold is reunited with Belle, bringing magic back to Storybrooke,[11] though he is later enraged when he learns that leaving the town will remove residents' magical memories, as he had planned to search for Baelfire. Gold eventually creates a potion to leave and tracks Bae to Manhattan, learning he is Neal Cassidy, Henry's father.[50] Gold begins to die after he is poisoned by Hook with Dreamshade and the group return to Storybrooke, where Mary Margaret heals him by reluctantly cursing Cora's heart. When Henry is kidnapped to Neverland, Gold travels with Emma, her parents, Regina and Hook to rescue him from his father's plot to steal Henry's heart.[17] Returning to Storybrooke, Pan attempts to kill his loved ones, though Gold uses his dagger to sacrifice both himself and his father.[21]
However, Pan's curse is enacted, and when Regina destroys her curse to end Pan's curse, the inhabitants are returned to the Enchanted Forest.

Neal and Belle travel to Rumplestiltskin's castle and are located to the Dark One's vault where Neal resurrects Rumplestiltskin but kills himself. Before he dies, Rumplestiltskin merges Neal's body with his own. When Snow White and Prince Charming enact a curse to stop Zelena, Mr. Gold is returned to Storybrooke under Zelena's control. Emma later finds him, only to find that Neal is trapped within him, thus causing Gold to lose his mind. Neal asks for Emma to free Gold to defeat Zelena, though he will die; she reluctantly agrees.[23] Mr. Gold proposes to Belle, also giving her his dagger. Unknown to her, it is a fake, and Gold uses the original to kill Zelena. He later marries Belle with her father's blessing. Despite his love for Belle, Gold is still deceiving everyone around him, especially Hook after finding out about using the dagger, thus resulting in Gold threatening, then later removing his heart, so he do his bidding, and tricked Emma into giving up her power so he can save her, but thanks to Elsa, that failed and Gold believes that the Snow Queen, who wanted Emma, was behind it.

When Mr. Gold visits Ingrid again, he threatens to take vengeance on her life if she does not keep the Spell of Shattered Sight from affecting Belle and Henry, and provide him with an escape route from Storybrooke, both of which she agrees to. Then, Ingrid tells him that the Spell of Shattered Sight will cover Storybrooke by sunset. Gold then meets up with Hook, telling him to use the hat to absorb the Fairies' magic, so that he can kill the cure for the Spell of Shattered Sight, and so that he can gather enough magic to cleave himself from the Dagger of Kris. As part of his plan, Gold leads Belle out of Granny's Diner so that Hook can capture the Fairies with the Sorcerer's Hat. After Hook completes the task, Gold tells him to enjoy the last day of his life, because when Gold finishes his final preparations by the next morning, he will kill Hook. Soon afterwards, Gold locks Belle inside of his shop, to prevent others from hurting her when the spell hits. After the spell, Gold tries to kill Hook, but is stopped by Belle who forces him to leave town. Six weeks later, Gold finds Ursula in New York and offers his assistance. After this Gold has to find Maleficent and Cruella.

Belle
Lacey Emilie de Ravin 2, 3, 4 1 45[51] Alive
Emilie de Ravin
Belle is the daughter of Sir Maurice and his wife Colette. She is true love of Rumplestiltskin. When her father's realm is threatened by the ogre wars, Rumplestiltskin offers to protect it in exchange for Belle becoming caretaker of his estate. Belle accepts the deal and the pair form a bond until Rumplestiltskin mistakenly believes that Belle is working for Regina and forces her to leave forever. Before this happen Colette protected her daughter at the expense of her own life. Belle does not remember this and to get back her memories she travels to Arendale where she meets Princess Anna, and is partially responsible for her being caught by the Snow Queen. Belle later joins an expedition to hunt the Yaoguai, a monster terrorizing a distant kingdom. Using her knowledge of books, she teams up with Mulan to defeat the beast, which turns out to be a cursed Prince Phillip. She then intended to return to Rumplestiltskin, though the Evil Queen captures her, even as Belle defiantly tells her that she will never keep her apart from Rumplestiltskin. Then, the Evil Queen and falsely claims to Rumplestiltskin that Belle committed suicide, upsetting him.

In Storybrooke, Belle is kept beneath the town's hospital for 28 years by Regina.[46] She is later released by Jefferson and finds Mr. Gold (Rumplestiltskin), professing her love for him when the curse is broken and standing beside him as he brings magic to Storybrooke.[11] When Gold finds a way to leave Storybrooke without losing his memories, Belle is shot by Captain Hook, causing her to fall across the border and lose her memory again. Belle later "remembers" her cursed self as a scantily-clad barfly named Lacey, who encourages the darker urges in Gold. Gold later finds a potion that regains her original identity. As Mr. Gold, along with Emma Swan, Mary Margaret, David, Regina, and Captain Hook travel to retrieve a kidnapped Henry from Neverland, he gives Belle a protection spell to cast around Storybrooke.[17] He encounters a form of Belle frequently in Neverland as an illusion to act as a crutch to his cowardliness;[52] she is later revealed as his father Peter Pan's shadow in disguise. The two are reunited when the group return to Storybrooke after retrieving Henry,[36] though Gold sacrifices himself to kill his father. However, Pan's curse remains and Belle, along with the other inhabitants are sent back to their original worlds.[21] In the Enchanted Forest, Belle and Neal travel to Rumplestiltskin's castle and are directed to the Dark One's vault. To the disapproval of Belle, Neal unlocks the vault, resurrecting Rumplestiltskin but sacrificing himself.[23] Belle is returned to Storybrooke when Snow and Charming enact a new curse to stop Zelena from taking their baby. Upon his freedom, Mr. Gold proposes to Belle after trusting her with his dagger (unknown to her, it is a replica) and the two are married. After feeling a surge of guilt when Elsa tries to find Anna, Belle uses the fake dagger to "force" Rumplestiltskin to take her to the Snow Queen's lair, so that she can steal the Sorcerer's hat and use it to force the Snow Queen to reveal where Anna is. Instead, she ran into the Mirror of Shattered Sight, which caused her to feel that she was responsible for Anna's disappearance, and believe that Rumplestiltskin only married her because he could manipulate her, and that her dagger was a fake. The enchantment causes her to lash out and cut Rumplestiltskin when he tries to get her away from the mirror, and when he teleports them back to his shop, she apologizes for losing trust in him, and promises never to use the dagger on him again. When Ingrid, the Snow Queen, freezes the police station's door shut to keep the others from warning Emma of her scheme, she convinced Rumplestiltsking to go help out. After the Snow Queen cast the Spell of Shattered Sight, she found a counterspell for the Spell of Shattered Sight, and worked with the Fairies on the cure. However, when the cure was close to its completion, Rumplestiltskin led her out of Granny's Diner, so that Hook could capture the Fairies with the Sorcerer's Hat. Then, Rumplestiltskin locks Belle inside of his shop, to prevent others from getting to her when the spell hits. After the spell, Belle learns that the dagger is a fake and forces her husband Gold to leave Storybrooke.

Killian Jones/Captain Hook Colin O'Donoghue 3, 4 2 48[53] Alive
Colin O'Donoghue
Killian Jones, is a pirate who formerly worked for a King with his brother Liam. The two were sent to Neverland to retrieve the plant Dreamshade. Killian is reluctant to follow orders after Peter Pan informs them it is poisonous. A stubborn Liam is ultimately killed by the plant, leading Killian to become his own captain of the Jolly Roger. Some time after, he seduces away Rumplestiltskin's wife, Milah. In a later fight, Rumplestiltskin cuts off Jones' hand, which he replaces with a hook, thus receiving his alias as Captain Hook. He once again travels to Neverland,[39] where he finds and takes care of Rumplestiltskin's son Baelfire after he is separated from his father Rumplestiltskin. He forms an unlikely friendship with him, until Bae learns that Hook took Milah from his father. He hands Bae over to the Lost Boys who take him to Peter Pan.[17] Returning from Neverland, Hook is enlisted by the Evil Queen Regina to dispose of her mother Cora in Wonderland, though Hook and Cora form an alliance. When the Dark Curse is activated, Cora protects them both and part of the Enchanted Forest with a barrier spell, frozen in time for 28 years.[54]

After this time period, Hook follows Emma and Mary Margaret to Storybrooke with Cora, through a magic bean obtained by Hook.[54] When Mr. Gold (Rumplestiltskin) finds a way to leave Storybrooke without losing his memories, Hook shoots his love Belle, causing her to fall across the town's border and lose her memory again. After Gold travels to Manhattan to locate Baelfire, Hook poisons him, but is captured by Neal Cassidy (Baelfire)'s fiancé Tamara, to be used in her and Greg Mendell's plot to destroy magic in Storybrooke. He originally leaves Storybrooke with a stolen magic bean for himself, but returns to help Emma, Mary Margaret, David, Regina, and Mr. Gold travel to Neverland with his ship, after Henry Mills is transported there.[17] In Neverland, Hook becomes the group's guide for directions,[39] and they retrieve Henry from the sinister Peter Pan and journey back to Storybrooke,[20] where Pan enacts the original curse again. Hook, along with the other inhabitants, are taken to their original worlds, while Emma and Henry escape to New York City with new memories. A year later, Hook arrives in the city and eventually restores Emma's memories with a potion, returning to Storybrooke with both Emma and Henry to break the new curse by Zelena, the Wicked Witch of the West.[22] After Hook and Emma are dragged into Zelena's time portal, Emma uses her magic to re-open the portal to the present and begins a relationship with Hook, after he reveals he traded his ship for her. Hook's love for Emma would be put to the test after discovering that Gold was still in control of the dagger and has not changed. When he threatened to tell Belle and later Emma about using the knife, Gold in turn threatened Hook into doing his bidding by vowing to reveal Hook's dark side again, and later on while attempting to save Emma from Gold's plan to strip her of her powers, loses his heart to Gold, making Hook his puppet to use him to get what he wants. Soon afterwards, Gold tasks Hook with using the hat to drain the Fairies' magic, in order to kill the cure for the Spell of Shattered Sight, and to obtain enough power to free himself from the Dagger of Kris. Hook reluctantly agrees to the task, since Gold has his heart, and traps the fairies in the hat after Gold convinces Belle to leave Granny's Diner. When Emma and Elsa later arrive with Anna and Kristoff, Hook hides behind the counter, leading them to believe that the Fairies had been dealt with by the Snow Queen. With his job complete, Hook gives the hat to Gold, who tells him to enjoy the last day of his life wherever he wants, because when Gold completes his final preparations by the next morning, he will kill Hook. When the Spell of Shattered Sight was close to engulfing Storybrooke, Hook visits Emma one last time to say goodbye to her, before leaving to chain himself to a dock at the marina. When the Spell of Shattered Sight finally hits, Hook looks on as thunder rumbles and mirror shards rain from the sky. After the spell, Gold tried to kill Hook, but he was stopped by Belle. Emma later restores Hook's heart.

The Blue Fairy, or Reul Ghorm[35] is a high-ranking fairy godmother who uses her magic to help others. She was a teacher to Tinker Bell (the Green Fairy), until she stopped believing in her due to her rule-breaking.[73] While she is quite powerful, she is unable to undo Rumplestiltskin's magic. To help fix a problem created by his magic, she transforms Jiminy into a cricket and guides him to help Geppetto.[49] She also transforms the puppet Pinocchio into a real boy, and creates a quill that temporarily immobilizes Rumplestiltskin, aiding in his imprisonment.[45] Rumplestiltskin is hostile towards her and other fairies, blaming her for the disappearance of his son Baelfire.[35] The Blue Fairy presents the idea of fashioning a wardrobe from a magical tree to save Emma and Pinocchio from the Evil Queen Regina's curse by sending them to the new world.[3]

In Storybrooke, she is Mother Superior of the town's nuns, who were all fairies prior to the curse. Victor originally seeks a way to restore life to the dead, but has his funding pulled by his father. Rumplestiltskin offers him gold in exchange for the scientific method on how to revive the dead as magic could not. Victor robs a grave for body parts to experiment on, but is caught by Gerhardt who is shot by a police officer. As Victor attempts to bring Gerhardt back to life, electricity cannot revive him, so Rumplestiltskin instead offers a heart from the Enchanted Forest. As part of a bargain, he creates a false attempt to reanimate Daniel (the Evil Queen Regina's lost love) to make it easier for Rumplestiltskin to manipulate her. In his own world, Frankenstein reanimates his brother with the heart, but inadvertently turns him into a monster, beating his father to death. Victor imprisons him until he can devise a way to help Gerhardt overcome his psychotic rage.[15]

He successfully reanimates Daniel's corpse with a magical heart, turning him into a monster who savagely rips off Whale's arm. Mr. Gold (Rumplestiltskin) reattaches his arm, and he later heals outsider Greg Mendell who crashes his car into the town.[15] After Peter Pan enacts the original curse again, Whale, along with the other inhabitants, are returned to their original worlds.[21] When Snow White and Prince Charming enact a new curse, as part of their plan to stop Zelena, Dr. Whale is sent back to Storybrooke.

Geppetto is an elderly carpenter and Pinocchio's caretaker. Geppetto was orphaned when Jiminy Cricket accidentally transformed his parents into puppets.

Geppetto carved himself a son named Pinocchio out of magical wood. During Pinocchio's adventures, he and Gepetto are chased by a whale during a thunderstorm, ultimating in Pinocchio sacrificing his life for Gepetto's. For this act, the Blue Fairy turns him into a real boy, finally bestowing Gepetto with a son. She asks Geppetto to carve a magical wardrobe with the ability to save the pregnant Snow White and Prince Charming from the Evil Queen Regina's curse. However, the curse would send everyone to a land without magic and Pinocchio, a real boy because of magic, could turn back into a puppet. Geppetto bargains with the fairy to use the second spot for Pinocchio, ultimating in her lying to the other inhabitants, claiming the wardrobe can only save one. When Snow's child is born, instead of giving up Pinocchio's spot to her, Geppetto sends his son, telling him to protect the child and get them to break the curse.

In Storybrooke, he is Marco, the town's handyman. August Booth (the adult Pinocchio) offers to work as Marco's assistant to which Marco agrees. His memories as Geppetto are restored when the curse is broken. August (who had turned back into wood) returns to life, albeit made of wood. Mary Margaret (Snow White) encounters August, telling Marco of his existence. Marco admits that he had lied about the wardrobe's abilities, saying that it was able to transport two. August is later murdered by Tamara, in his dying breath attempting to warn everyone of her evil, without success. Mother Superior (the Blue Fairy) resurrects him for his honesty, and Marco takes in a now seven-year-old Pinocchio as his son once more.[61]

King George is the adoptive father of Prince James and his twin Prince "Charming" David. He is based on King Henry VIII from The Prince and the Pauper.

King George and his wife are unable to bear children on their own, leading George to strike a deal with Rumplestiltskin for an heir. Years later, the kingdom falls into financial trouble, and Prince James offers to slay the dragon plaguing King Midas' realm in exchange for gold. James is killed in battle, and his twin brother David is recruited to carry out the task. The task is completed and Midas deems the Prince worthy of marrying his daughter and uniting the kingdoms. George reneges on his promise to return David home and forces him to marry, otherwise he will kill David's mother and burn his home.[38] Later, George learns that David has fallen in love with Snow White. He forces Snow to break David's heart,[31] though David still breaks off his engagement, fleeing the kingdom.[32] George's knights capture him, and David is sentenced to death, though the Evil Queen Regina intercepts him, instead using him in her plan to curse Snow.[16] A reawakened snow is then kidnapped by George, who again curses her to never have children. This plan is foiled when water from Lake Nostos breaks the curse.[80] King George later joins forces with the Evil Queen to fight Snow and Charming's forces, which ends with George's army being defeated and the Evil Queen being apprehended.

Jefferson is a man who owns a magical hat that can be used to travel between worlds. He worked for both Rumplestiltskin and the Evil Queen Regina, obtaining objects from other worlds for them. His name derives from the song "White Rabbit" performed by Jefferson Airplane.

When he first meets Regina, Rumplestiltskin has Jefferson bring Dr. Frankenstein to the Enchanted Forest to pretend failing to revive her true love Daniel, in order to make her become evil. In his later life, he lives with his daughter Grace, selling fungus to survive. He initially refuses to help Regina, though later agrees if his daughter will want for nothing. He takes Regina to Wonderland, where she rescues her father Henry and abandons Jefferson, who is beheaded by the knights of the Queen of Hearts. His head is reattached and he is ordered to make another hat to return home. Although he makes thousands of hats, none take him home, leading him into insanity and earning his alias as the Mad Hatter.[9]

In Storybrooke, he remembers his pre-cursed life, and lives in a large house. He captures Mary Margaret Blanchard (Snow White) and abducts Emma, ordering her to make a hat that will take him home. Emma knocks him out and when he awakens to kill Emma, Mary Margaret pushes him out of a window. He disappears, leaving nothing but his hat.[9] Jefferson returns upon request of Regina to remove Emma, promising a new life with his daughter. He retrieves the apple that cursed Snow White into a deathlike sleep from the Enchanted Forest.[16] However, after Henry Mills is cursed, Regina refuses to reward Jefferson, who later frees Belle from her cell and instructs her to tell Mr. Gold (Rumplestiltskin) that Regina held her captive.[11] After the curse is broken, he initially avoids Grace, feeling guilty for unintentionally abandoning her, but they eventually happily reunite.

Cora Mills is the daughter of a local poor, drunken miller, similar to the character in the Rumpelstiltskin story. She later becomes the mother to both Regina and Zelena.

As a young woman, Cora is asked for her hand in marriage by a man named Jonathan claiming to be a Prince. The two conceive a child, Zelena, though Cora discovers Jonathan's fake identity. She then meets Prince Leopold, forming a strong bond, until realizing that he is engaged to Princess Eva, who informs Leopold of her secret child. Cora is banished from the kingdom, and she sends Zelena away to Oz, in order to become a royal.

Sometime later, Cora later claims to King Xavier that she can spin straw into gold, who states that if she can, she can marry his son Prince Henry, but if not, she will be killed. She is then approached by Rumplestiltskin who states that he will teach her magic if she gives him her first born child. She agrees and accepts Henry's hand in marriage. Rumplestiltskin then changes his deal to claim whatever child Cora suggests to him. She plans to run away with him but chooses power over love, ripping her own heart, marrying Henry, and giving birth to Regina.[86]

As an older woman, Cora is a controlling mother towards Regina, wanting her to achieve a high status in life. Cora's designs on taking over the kingdom begin with killing Queen Eva (Snow White's mother) by fatally poisoning her. She then causes a young Snow's horse to become wild and rush towards a river, knowing that Regina would save her. Cora uses this opportunity to arrange a marriage between Regina and Snow's father King Leopold. However, Regina is in love with the stable boy Daniel, a secret that Snow innocently informs Cora of. Cora then kills him, believing that such a marriage would ruin her plans of Regina's royalty.[43] Rumplestiltskin later helps Regina send Cora to Wonderland via a magical mirror, where she becomes the Queen of Hearts.[13] She later meets Anastasia, the soon to be Red Queen of Wonderland and teachers her magic. She also recruits Will Scarlet as one of her Knave of Hearts and instructs him to hunt Alice down for certain reasons. When Captain Hook is sent to kill her by Regina (who does not want her mother following her to the new land created by Rumplestiltskin's curse), Cora instead collaborates with him, shielding part of the Enchanted Forest from the curse and freezing them in time for 28 years.[54]

After the curse is broken, and Mary Margaret (Snow White) and her daughter Emma Swan are transported to the Enchanted Forest, they encounter Cora.[13] Cora learns that Regina and her adoptive son Henry are in Storybrooke, and retrieves a magical bean, following the two back to Storybrooke with Hook.[54] Cora impersonates Regina to supposedly kill Archie Hopper (Jiminy Cricket), thus causing Regina to lose Henry. She then turns a rehabilitating Regina back to evil by playing on her love for him. She seeks out the Dark One's dagger to kill their enemies,[86] though Regina returns her heart which, unbeknownst to her, has been poisoned by Mary Margaret with the same candle that Cora poisoned Snow's mother with. Upon possessing her heart, she loves Regina truly, until she dies in her arms.[86] Cora is later summoned as a ghost by Regina, in an attempt to discover the truth behind her giving away Zelena. Cora instead possesses Mary Margaret, allowing her to see her mother, Eva's dark past. Regina removes Cora's ghost from Mary Margaret's body and returns her to the spirit world.

Lost Boys
The Lost Boys (also known as the "Lost Ones") are the murderous inhabitants of Neverland and servants of Peter Pan. Pan began forming the group under his alias of the Pied Piper in the fairytale world. As mentioned by Wendy Darling, they cry at night because they miss their families.

Malcolm/Peter Pan/Pied Piper Robbie Kay (Peter Pan/Pied Piper)
Stephen Lord (Malcolm)
3 11[101] Deceased
Malcolm is the father of Rumplestiltskin, grandfather of Baelfire and great-grandfather of Henry Mills. Malcolm originally leaves his son in the care of two spinners, who give Rumplestiltskin a magical bean to create a portal to leave his careless father. Using the magic bean, Malcolm and Rumplestiltskin travel to Neverland, a place which Malcolm envisions in his dreams. Upon arrival, Malcolm discovers he cannot fly like in his dreams, and the Shadow tells him this is because he does not belong on the island. Realizing that he cannot be a child as he is a father, Malcolm forces Rumplestiltskin to be taken home by the Shadow. Malcolm transforms into his younger self, adopting the name of Peter Pan (which he named himself after Rumplestiltskin's doll). The Shadow informs Pan that his youth is limited, and he will die when the hourglass of Skull Rock is complete.[27] Some time later, Pan visits Hamelin in the Enchanted Forest posing as the Pied Piper to expand what would later become the Lost Boys.

He later appears as a fugitive boy pretending to escape from the Lost Boys. He "befriends" Henry who is also attempting to escape upon arriving in Neverland, following his kidnap from Storybrooke. He later reveals his true identity and tells Henry he possesses "the heart of the truest believer", which he now owns.[26] He blackmails John and Michael Darling to help him with his tasks, in exchange for their sister Wendy's life, who had been lured back to Neverland. Pan falsely claims to Henry that magic is dying in Neverland, and needs Henry's power. He then persuades Henry to give him his heart, leading Henry to temporarily die. After Pan traps Gold inside Pandora's Box,[27] Regina successfully reclaims Henry's heart and revives him, before Pan swaps his and Henry's souls.[20] Once in Storybrooke, Pan orders the Shadow to kill Mother Superior after reading Henry's book. He then steals the original curse from Regina that created Storybrooke, planning to enact it to turn the town into "The New Neverland."[36] His plot is successful, though before it takes place, Gold kills both Pan (who reverts to Malcolm) and himself with the Dark One's dagger.[21]

Zelena returns to Oz without him, disappointed that he would choose Regina over her to enact his curse. There, she adopts her new green skin triggered by her jealousy.[47] Glinda the Good Witch takes her to her "sisters" of the East and North, speaking of her supposed destiny as the savior of Oz and giving her a pendant to harness her magic. However, upon the arrival of Dorothy Gale, Zelena again becomes envious, tricking her into returning to Kansas, while banishing Glinda to the Enchanted Forest.

Later known as the Wicked Witch of the West, she overtakes Regina's castle, following Peter Pan's curse that returns Storybrooke's residents to the Enchanted Forest. Regina learns of their relations, while Zelena tricks Neal into resurrecting Rumplestiltskin, sacrificing himself. After merging his son's body with his own, Rumplestiltskin becomes insane, manipulated by Zelena with his dagger. After Zelena threatens Snow and Charming's baby, they learn from Glinda that light magic will defeat Zelena. Believing Emma to be the key, they cast a new curse to take them to Storybrooke. Charming sacrifices his heart to Snow, but Zelena adds a forgetting potion to the curse, removing the characters' memories of the past year.

In Storybrooke, Zelena appears as a midwife who befriends Mary Margaret, scheming to get closer to her unborn baby, while holding Mr. Gold prisoner.[104] Emma later finds Gold, discovering that Neal is trapped within him. Neal asks Emma to free Gold in order to defeat Zelena, though he will die; she reluctantly agrees.[23] Zelena later curses Captain Hook to remove Emma's powers. Belle learns that Zelena needs four ingredients (David's courage, Regina's heart, Rumplestiltskin's brain, and David and Mary Margaret's newborn son)[40] to enact a time-travelling spell to travel to the past. She successfully obtains different forms of the items, though Regina uses her newly discovered light magic to defeat her. She spares her life, giving Zelena a second chance. However, Rumplestiltskin avenges Neal by stabbing Zelena with his dagger, shattering her into pieces. Shorty afterwards, Zelena's magic within her pendant enacts the time-travel spell, opening the portal which Emma and Hook fall through. Sending them back to the Enchanted Forest of the past, Emma reclaims her magic and re-opens a portal back to present-day Storybrooke.

However, Hans finds the two and inadvertently releases the Snow Queen, who reveals to Elsa that she is her aunt as she is her mother's sister.

Some time later, she is placed into the urn by Anna (thanks to the Spell of Shattered Sight cast on her by Ingrid) and is trapped within the Dark One's vault by Rumplestiltskin, who had taken the urn to exchange for obtaining the Sorcerer's Hat from Ingrid. When Emma Swan and Captain Hook are dragged into a time portal to the past, they inadvertently bring Elsa to Storybrooke. Elsa soon becomes frightened, creating a snow monster to protect herself. Elsa discovers this five years later, leading Anna to venture to the Enchanted Forest to fulfill their parents' last mission. Befriending David, she helps him defeat the warlord Bo Peep and in return is told of Rumplestiltskin who might help her control her sister's magic. When she returned to Arendelle with a box she took from Rumplestiltskin, Anna became suspicious of the Snow Queen, and after discovering the truth about Helga, Ingrid imprisons Anna, then uses a spell to have her turn on Elsa, resulting in Anna trapping Elsa in the urn, but Ingrid, upset over what Anna did, freezes Anna, along with Kristoff and the entire kingdom of Arendelle. 30 years later, Arendelle unthaws and Anna and Kristoff end up on the run from Prince Hans and his three brothers. When in the mineshaft, they find a caved-in path causing Emma and Elsa to find another way to the other side. Elsa opens up a hole in the wall where they end up on a beach. When Elsa ends up hoping for Anna using her necklace (which was a Wishing Star), she ends up saving Anna and Kristoff from their fate at the bottom of Poseidon's Graveyard, and brings them to Storybrooke. Ingrid/Snow Queen Sarah Fisher Elizabeth Mitchell
Brighton Sharbino (child)
4 10 Deceased
Ingrid, also known as the Snow Queen, is an older woman who possesses ice powers similar to Elsa's, but more controlled and more powerful.

She manifested her powers at a young age when she, Helga, and Gerda were attacked by a crimimal. Following an incident where Helga was accidentally frozen to death because of the Duke of Weselton's trick, Gerda sealed Ingrid away in a magical urn, while mourning Helga's death and her own actions. She was released from the urn by Prince Hans, who she then froze for calling Elsa was a monster, implying that she was a "monster." She also freezes 3 of Hans' other older brothers as revealed by Prince Hans in "Fall." The Snow Queen later informs Elsa that she is her aunt, as she is the sister of Queen Gerda of Arendelle. At some point afterwards, Ingrid visits the Apprentice to have him ask the Sorcerer for an item that she needs to complete her family. Upon finding out that Elsa is on to her, Ingrid then used her power to have Anna turn on Elsa, which resulted in Anna imprisoning Elsa in the urn. Afterwards Ingrid freeze Anna and Kristoff. Unfortunately, Rumplestiltskin would take the urn and Anna's necklace from Ingrid as part of an exchange for the Sorcerer's hat. However, she ends up giving the hat to the Apprentice who in exchange for the item, is given the one thing she needs to complete her family, a new sister, which leads her to a portal that sends her to New York City in 1982. Once there, Ingrid bides her time until Emma showed up in Storybrooke.

In Storybrooke, she works at an ice cream parlor called "Any Given Sundae", under the alias Sarah Fisher. When Elsa is brought to the town, the Snow Queen takes advantage of Elsa's ice barrier that surrounds Storybrooke. The Snow Queen places a spell in Maid Marian's ice cream cone, causing her to fall into a frozen sleep. Emma soon discovers the Snow Queen and uses her magic to save Captain Hook, after she threatened to kill him. She escapes after implying that she knows Emma, whom she taunted. Sarah then uses Sidney in a plot to lure Regina into allowing her to take her magic mirror, in exchange for Sidney's freedom. It was later discovered that Sarah was Emma's foster mother in our world, having taking her in after she was caught by Social Services in Minnesota. Her true plan is later uncovered; the Snow Queen wants two new sisters to replace the ones she lost, but they must have magic like her. She also planned to use the Spell of Shattered Sight, to have the inhabitants of Storybrooke kill each other off, until only she, Elsa, and Emma are left. In hindsight, the loss of her true sisters seems to have driven Ingrid insane; she doesn't see how much Emma and Elsa despise her. Although Ingrid hasn't considered the possibility, Elsa and Emma may end up trying to stop her plans by killing her, which is pretty much the only logical option since Ingrid won't listen to reason. Later on, Ingrid allowed herself to be "captured" by Emma, implanting an ice shard in her in the process, allowing her to talk with Emma in private at the police station. When Belle discovers that the mirror in the Clock Tower was a fake, David, Mary Margret, and the others catch on to Ingrid's plan too late, and they are unable to warn Emma, as Ingrid had frozen over the police station doors shut. Then, Ingrid plays on Emma's emotions, eventually making her lose control of herself and her magic, which destroys a chunk of the wall and allows the Snow Queen to escape. After Ingrid discovered that Mr. Gold was planning to use the Sorcerer's Hat to absorb Emma and her powers, she tries to stop him, only to realize that he had imprisoned her in a force field made from the urn dust. Then, she tries to warn Emma via an illusion, which initially causes Emma to lose control of her car and crash. However, Emma still refused to believe her, continuing to drive off towards the abandoned mansion. After Elsa saved Emma and the urn dust wore off, Ingrid places her ribbons on all three of them, allowing her to harness their powers. Then, she warns Mr. Gold not to underestimate her and casts the Spell of Shattered Sight over Storybrooke. When Mr. Gold visits Ingrid, she agrees to keep the Spell of Shattered Sight from affecting Belle and Henry, and an escape route from Storybrooke, in exchange for Gold not seeking vengeance on her life. Then, she tells him that the Spell of Shattered Sight will cover Storybrooke by sunset.

As Storybrooke starts to tear itself apart due to the spell, Emma and Elsa confront Ingrid at "Any Given Sundae" where their powers can't work on her due to the ribbons on them. At her lair, Ingrid then proceeds into the next part of her plan where she restores the good memories of Emma and Elsa to them while stating that they don't have it in them to kill her. When Anna arrives with the note about her mother's last words that involved the truth of Ingrid and Helga being Elsa and Anna's aunts while stating that Arendelle deserves to know about Ingrid and Helga. Ingrid then begins to attack Anna and manages to knock her down. Upon reading the note, Ingrid sees that Anna is right and begins to regret her actions. Ingrid then undoes the Spell of Shattered Sight by destroying herself. Before she dies, Ingrid states that Emma has found her family and returns the memories of Emma and Elsa to them, now that she has her sisters' love. Ingrid then disappears to the afterlife, where she is happy to join Gerda and Helga there.

Maleficent Kristin Bauer van Straten 1.02, 1.22, 2.20, 4.11 Alive
Kristin Bauer van Straten
Maleficent is a witch and shape-shifter who is able to take the form of a fire-breathing dragon.

At some point, Maleficent worked with Cruella de Vil and Ursula into kidnapping Belle in order to obtain a magic gauntlet that Rumplestiltskin claimed from his visit in Camelot.

After failed attempts to kill Princess Aurora's mother, Maleficent inflicts Aurora with a sleeping curse, putting both the Princess and her kingdom into a thorn-adorned ruin. Maleficent also curses her true love Prince Phillip by transforming him into a beast called the Yaoguai and banishing him to another land so that he is incapable of reaching Aurora. He remains in this form until he is found by Belle who returns him to human form.

In Wonderland, when Will Scarlet (the Knave of Hearts) and Robin Hood's Merry Men invade Maleficent's castle to steal gold, her voice is projected into their camp, telling them to return a stolen Looking Glass.

She is approached at some point by the Evil Queen Regina, who trades the Dark Curse created by Rumplestiltskin, for Maleficent's sleeping curse, in order to punish Snow White. Later, in hope to find Snow White, Prince Charming is given a locating spell from Rumplestiltskin if he manages to hide a potion inside the belly of a beast (Maleficent). The witch transforms into a fire-breathing dragon, though Charming manages to place the potion within her.[11] Eventually, Maleficent gives up on her revenge against Aurora's mother, finding solace in her pet black unicorn. However, the Evil Queen, frustrated at the failure of the sleeping curse, desires the Dark Curse once more, but Maleficent refuses. Regina challenges her to a spar, eventually defeating Maleficent, but she allows Maleficent to live, saying that she is her only friend.[5]

In Storybrooke, it is revealed that Regina Mills (the Evil Queen) trapped Maleficent in her dragon form and imprisoned her beneath Storybrooke's abandoned library. Later, when Henry Mills falls under a sleeping curse to prove the curse's reality to Emma Swan, Emma is forced to kill Maleficent to retrieve the potion within her, later revealed to be a bottle of true love. Regina later travels beneath the library to retrieve the "fail-safe" trigger to destroy Storybrooke, finding Maleficent alive in an undead-like body form.[105]

Queen Gerda is the Queen of Arendelle and mother of Elsa and Anna. Her sisters were Ingrid, The Snow Queen and Helga, her middle sister.

As the youngest of the three sisters, Gerda was always close with Ingrid and Helga, and was the one who sought out Rumplestiltskin's help in controlling Ingrid's magic. Unfortunately, after seeing Helga's destroyed frozen body, Gerda, refusing to believe Ingrid's story that she killed her by mistake, after an incident caused by the Duke of Weselton, and seeing her sister as a monster, exiles Ingrid into the urn. Gerda then speaks to The Grand Pabbie about a request for a memory potion to have the entire Kingdom of Arendelle forget about the existence of Helga and Ingrid, but The Grand Pabbie states that the truth will come out eventually, and that magic always comes with a price.

Years later, Gerda, along with her husband, left on a mission to find out about Elsa's powers, only to be lost at sea, just moments after she wrote a note that she threw into the ocean, in the hopes of the message reaching her daughters in time.

Grand Pabbie John Rhys-Davies (voice) 4.01, 4.06 Unknown
Grand Pabbie is the king of the Rock Trolls that live in Arendelle.

When Gerda had sealed Ingrid away in a mystical urn after an incident caused by the Duke of Weselton where Helga was accidentally frozen to death, she speaks to Grand Pabbie about a memory potion to forget the existence of Helga and Ingrid. Grand Pabbie states that the truth will come out soon and that magic comes with a price.

Elsa and Anna visit Grand Pabbie to talk about what their parents did on that voyage. Grand Pabbie states that he doesn't know, but stated that they were going to Misthaven instead of the Northern Isles. Grand Pabbie states that they didn't tell him why they went to Misthaven.

When Belle visits Arendelle, Anna takes her to see Grand Pabbie so that Belle could know what happened to her mother when the Ogres raided Sir Maurice's castle. He gives Belle a special stone in which when brewed with tea, it can help her regain the memories of what happened to her mother when the Ogres invaded Sir Maurice's castle. Anna later tells Grand Pabbie about Ingrid the Snow Queen where he was sworn to secrecy to keep the info on her mother's sisters Ingrid and Helga private. He tells Anna that the answers to questions about Ingrid being related to her mother must be answered by Ingrid.

Prince Hans
Tyler Jacob Moore 4.03, 4.08, 4.10 Alive
Hans is the archenemy of Elsa and Anna in Arendelle, who tried to take over the kingdom.

Hans, three out of twelve of his older brothers, and their army are first seen travelling to locate a mystical urn to imprison Elsa within. When at the North Valley, Hans's army attack Elsa and Kristoff in order to claim the urn. Hans holds Kristoff at swordpoint in order to get Elsa to hand over the urn. Elsa surrenders, though when Hans claims the urn and opens it, he unknowingly releases the Snow Queen, who freezes Hans while his three brothers flee, only to end up frozen as well.

Ingrid later bring both Hans, 3 of his frozen brothers, and the magic urn to the royal castle, and hides them in a wardrobe in her room.

After Ingrid leaves, Arendelle thaws in 30 years, and Hans unthaws and reunites with his three older brothers, as he becomes the new King of Arendelle, with his first act being to arrest Anna and Kristoff. Anna and Kristoff then run from them, as they head out to find Blackbeard. Prince Hans and his three brothers catch up to them at Blackbeard's ship. Hans revealed that they had an informant on the docks and took the swiftest ship to find them. With all of the treasury of Arendelle in his possession (which leaves Anna and Kristoff unable to barter for the Wishing Star), Prince Hans plans to send Anna and Kristoff to their deaths, by throwing them into Poseidon's Graveyard (which is where the boat that carrying Anna and Elsa's parents have sunk) within a trunk.

After Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff have returned to Arendelle, it was stated that Prince Hans and his brothers were driven out of Arendelle.

The Apprentice
Timothy Webber
4.04, 4.08, 4.11 Trapped in the Sorcerer's Hat
The Apprentice is an old man who works for an unnamed Sorcerer.

The Apprentice protects his teacher's creation, a box capable of transforming into a hat for absorbing and accumulating magic, from each person that takes on the Dark One's powers. As an added measure of security, the sorcerer curses the box so those who have succumbed to darkness may never open it and only someone who has been tempted into darkness but has not given into it can do the opposite. While sweeping the grounds of the box's location, Zoso (who was the Dark One at the time) arrives in an attempt to open the guarded relic. After being magically thrown aside by Zoso, The Apprentice watches the Dark One's futile endeavor to access the box's contents only to be blasted away by the artifact's magic. Once the Apprentice informs the Dark One of why his mission will never succeed, a beaten Zoso teleports away. Years later, Zoso's successor Rumplestiltskin conspires to possess the sorcerer's box and utilize the hat within it. The Apprentice, now living in a small cottage, stores the box in his basement for safekeeping. By some method, he ingests a poison that Rumplestiltskin created which will transmutate him into a mouse. In a deal with Anna, Rumplestiltskin sends her to put a bottled substance (which she presumes to be poison) into the apprentice's tea. In actuality, it is an antidote to cure him. During one day, the Apprentice opens his door to Anna and invites her in for tea and biscuits. He even allows her to stay at his home as long as she desires. As he sweeps the floor, Anna checks on the boiling kettle. Despite Rumplestiltskin's instructions, she dumps the bottled substance into a fire. After Anna's departure from the cottage, he turns into a mouse. Since discovering the truth, Anna rushes to the apprentice's house and begs Rumplestiltskin to undo the poison's effects, but the Dark One tricks the girl into nearly succumbing to darkness but ultimately turning away from it. After Rumplestiltskin gains the box, the Apprentice's mouse form jumps onto and bites the Dark One's hand. Startled, Rumplestiltskin drops the dagger to which Anna seizes it and commands him to give the box to her. She forces him into sending her and the box to Arendelle as well as reverting the Apprentice into a human.

Sometime later, the Apprentice is visited by Ingrid where she wants him to ask the Sorcerer what she needs to complete her family. After Ingrid had frozen Anna and Kristoff following her tricking Anna into imprisoning Elsa in a magical urn, she is approached in a cave by the Apprentice. In exchange that Ingrid hands him the box instead of giving it to Rumplestiltskin, he will tell her what the Sorcerer told him about Ingrid's question. Ingrid does so and the Apprentice tells her that she will need a true sister. As the sister in question is not born yet, the Apprentice tells Ingrid that the sister she requires will grow up on Earth as he manifests a portal door to take Ingrid to Earth in the 1980s.

In Storybrooke, he is shown to be living in a house. Mr. Gold and Captain Hook (who goes along with Mr. Gold's plan to get rid of his "cursed" hand) visit his house in order to get him to activate the box upon using a transformed broom to trace his location. Once Mr. Gold opens the box and utilizes the hat's power, the Apprentice is sucked into the hat.

Deciding to run away from home, she takes her father's credit card and disappears. In 1998 after Emma ran away from the orphanage in Boston, she first met Emma when she spotted her eyeing a Pop-Tarts box. When Emma notices her, Lily walks out of the aisle. Realizing the girl is stealing the box, she grabs a shopping cart and covers for Emma just as the blonde is nearly frisked by a store employee. Relieved, Emma expresses gratitude, to which Lily flashes a credit card. Instructing her to use this method next time rather than stuffing stolen goods under a jacket (which is a common shoplifting trick). Emma begins leaving, but Lily suggests they team up. After buying food and exiting the store, Lily sees her father racing down the street in his car to haul her home. She escapes with Emma into an alley where they duck for cover as a van pulled up in front of her father's car. Later, they stop at a nearby lake and have a picnic with their food. Lily learns Emma is originally from a Boston group home and she ran away after realizing no one is going to adopt her. Emma assumes the man from earlier is Lily's social worker, but her new friend hides the truth. Pointing out a house across the lake, Lily explains that it's vacant during the fall season and she wants to crash there with Emma who happily agrees. Inside the house following a video game session, Emma sees a star imprint on Lily's wrist. Lily imagines the star makes herself special and she then draws a matching one on Emma's wrist. Upon finding a camera, they record themselves goofing off. Growing close, Lily and Emma promise to remain friends no matter what. That night, her father arrives which awakens both girls and Emma learns of Lily's lies. While sitting in a car, Lily jolts down her contact information so Emma can find her once everything blows over and they will run away together. Emma is hurt at her lies, but Lily attests everything she spoke of is real, despite having a family she hates. Emma then walks away upon being lied to as Lily calls out her name. This event caused Emma to develop a mistrust in other people, which lasted for years.

Many years later, Emma came to regret walking off on Lily. With Captain Hook in her company, Emma revisited the footage of her and Lily, where the footage after that played a key part in helping Emma identify the Snow Queen as one of Emma's foster parents.

Helga was always close to Ingrid and Gerda, until she met the Duke of Weselton, who asked for her hand in marriage. When she discovered that the Duke was trying to seduce Ingrid, Helga turned down his marriage proposal, calling him the "Duke of Weaselton," and vowing to end his "diplomatic mission" in Arendelle. As Ingrid was about to attack The Duke, he placed Helga in front of him, resulting in Ingrid killing Helga instead. This lead to Gerda blaming Ingrid for Helga's death and resulted in Gerda imprisoning Ingrid in the urn. After mourning her actions and Helga's death, Gerda used a spell from Grand Pabbie to wipe Helga and Ingrid's names from Arendelle's history.

The Duke of Weselton Jonathan Runyon 4.07 Unknown

But later on, he starts noticing Ingrid, as it turns out that he actually not only wanted to meet her, he wanted to have her instead. When he tried to seduce Ingrid, she pushes him away with her magic. The Duke, as a result of seeing Ingrid's power and rejecting his advances, vowed to expose Ingrid, only to have Helga see through his lies and defend Ingrid. As Ingrid was about to stop him, The Duke placed Helga in front of him, resulting in her death by Ingrid, and he escapes before Gerda arrives. As a result of Gerda's wish that Ingrid and Helga's lives be erased from Arendelle's history, The Duke's encounter with the sisters are also wiped from his memory as well.
