Penn State vs. Massachusetts & Northwestern

Thanks for your work on the text for the PSU v. UM game last weekend as well as changing the game-time temperature and weather. My information came from the USA Today page; however texts from my brother who was at the game indicated otherwise. The BTN announcers also indicated a temperature/weather which was quite different from USA Today.
I will be out of town on vacation (the family is getting together) in Lancaster County on Saturday. While I'll have the game on the car radio as we travel from place to place, I won't be able to work on real-time scoring update.
Thanks again for your work on the PSU & Phillies pages! Bob305 (talk) 13:13, 22 September 2014 (UTC)

Nicely written article; unfortunately, the score didn't fall on the PSU side. I head the opening 1/2 as we rode around Lancaster, but missed the second 1/2 while in Sight & Sound. Thanks again for your hard work; it's been enjoyable to collaborate with you on the Phillies season and PSU games. Bob305 (talk) 17:46, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

Baseball Project

Ive started to do some editing to the Nate Schierholtz article. In the Personal life section, mention is made of his brother Cainin. My thoughts are to remove this info under the guidelines of WP:BLP. What do you think? ```Buster Seven Talk 21:57, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

Meh. It is cited, but you are correct to question the probative value it has to the overall narrative of Nate Schierholtz. Isn't Sanfranciscogiants17 also working on this article with hopes of GA? Perhaps we should seek his opinion. Go Phightins!

Advice

I created a new article,

Wrigley Field Renovations. Can you take a look and tell me what you think? Should I add some categories? Baseball? Chicago? Stuff like that. Thanks. ```Buster Seven Talk
23:03, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

Hey
WT:BASEBALL on the name and for some additional feedback). I am unfamiliar with other similar articles, so you might get to "write the book" on them :-). Good start; I would seek additional feedback at the aforementioned talk page if I were you; I am rather unversed in how we write articles on stadiums and such. Go Phightins!
02:16, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
A few administrative points: I noticed that some text matches or is very close to text in Wrigley Field. I recommend having a look at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia to see how to provide appropriate attribution for text copied from another article. As this article is a spin-out from the Wrigley Field article, at some point you should put {{Main|Wrigley Field renovations}} at the start of the "Renovation" section in the Wrigley Field article. Note that article titles and section headings should follow sentence case, so "renovations" should be lower case in the article title, and similar modifications should be made to various section headings. I think "Wrigley Field renovations" is fine as a title; putting Wrigley first gives it more emphasis and would place it in a more natural location when sorted alphabetically in a list. There may be some resistance to having a spin-out article, but I think there should be sufficient significant information on the construction process to warrant it, particularly if the article is kept up-to-date. Happy writing! isaacl (talk) 03:17, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) One other style issue. MOS says no wikilinks in section headers. I like the subject. You rock, Buster7. John from Idegon (talk) 03:30, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, my friends, so much for all the replies and suggestions. I welcome all your advice and will make the changes soon. @ GoP...Yes, the article is only about the current on-going renovations that will take 4 years to complete. Any helpful discussion at
Baseball would be great. @ Isaacl...Yes, I did "lift" from the Wrigley Field article to get some "meat on the bones" and the references that came with. I will make the changes you suggest. @John...Thanks, I'll make that change too. Also, I am going to cut and paste this discussion to the article talk page. Right now I am using it (the talk page) as a notebook of sorts. ```Buster Seven Talk

WikiCup 2015 is just around the corner...

Hello everyone, and may we wish you all a happy holiday season. As you will probably already know, the 2015 WikiCup begins in the new year; there is still time to sign up. We have a few important announcements concerning the future of the WikiCup.

  • We would like to announce that Josh (J Milburn) and Ed (The ed17), who have been WikiCup judges since 2009 and 2010 respectively, are stepping down. This decision has been made for a number of reasons, but the main one is time. Both Josh and Ed have found that, over the previous year, they have been unable to devote the time necessary to the WikiCup, and it is not likely that they will be able to do this in the near future. Furthermore, new people at the helm can only help to invigorate the WikiCup and keep it dynamic. Josh and Ed will still be around, and will likely be participating in the Cup this following year as competitors, which is where both started out.
  • In a similar vein, we hope you will all join us in welcoming Jason (Sturmvogel 66) and Christine (Figureskatingfan), who are joining Brian (Miyagawa) to form the 2015 WikiCup judging team. Jason is a WikiCup veteran, having won in 2010 and finishing in fifth this year. Christine has participated in two WikiCups, reaching the semi-finals in both, and is responsible for the GA Cup, which she now co-runs.
  • The discussions/polls concerning the next competition's rules will be closed soon, and rules changes will be made clear on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring and talk pages. While it may be impossible to please everyone, the judges will make every effort to ensure that the new rules are both fair and in the best interests of the competition, which is, first and foremost, about improving Wikipedia.

If you have any questions or concerns, the judges can be reached on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, on their talk pages, or by email. We hope you will all join us in trying to make the 2015 WikiCup the most productive and enjoyable yet. You are receiving this message because you are listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Fellow editors: Merry Christmas

To my fellow Wikipedia editors: It has been such a pleasure to work with you this year. Thanks to all of you who supported my request for adminship, who have supported me since getting the tools, and who help make it look like I can write articles, or perhaps more accurately, handle templates :-) I want to take a moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May it be a joyous time of celebration for you and your families, and may God be with you all. God bless, Go Phightins! 06:17, 25 December 2014 (UTC)

Just to clarify

For the record, the IP you just left a talk page comment with (here: [3]), 70.190.229.97, has been editing fairly disruptively even after other editors have tried reaching out to him repeatedly for a week. I think there's more here than immediately meets the eye, but would love to be wrong about that. He also hasn't tried communicating on his talk page, just deleting comments left by others and remaining largely unresponsive. His latest edit summary is the first I've seen from him that's even minimally acknowledged he's not helping but editing disruptively. Edit warring behavior without any modicum of discussion from him has been an issue, as well. Not saying you shouldn't have reached out on his talk page as you did, just saying that his editing history and ignoring of suggestions so far has been a bit problematic. -- WV 22:52, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
