Wikipedia and copyright
Hello Lim Zhi Hang, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 23:04, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

Unnecessary italics
Hi, I noticed that you've been italicizing the word present in date ranges in numerous articles, such as: [3], [4], [5], etc., as well as the word incumbent. Do you have a particular reason for that? I don't see that there is a need for emphasis, nor any of the other reasons for using italics described in Wikipedia's Manual of Style, see

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Perikatan Nasional. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Abbreviations alongside full names is completely unnecessary! Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 21:46, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

Abbreviations
When mentioning another party or organisation in an article, you have to choose between using the full name or the abbreviation, you cant use both in the same place at the same time, that is unnecessary and purely disruptive! Vif12vf/Tiberius (talk) 11:12, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

Friend, maybe it's best if you try to edit the section "List of the leaders of the Democratic Action Party (since 1966)" in your Sandbox first? Sisuvia (talk) 12:50, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Lim Zhi Hang I don't think "mandate" should be included in the tables for Democratic Action Party#List_of_the_leaders_of_the_Democratic_Action_Party_(since_1966). It isn't necessary and I don't think it's any useful. It should be enough for the tables to only include the date they ascended to the position and left it. I also don't think that showing how long they were or have been in office is necessary. Furthermore, I don't see the point in including Lim Kit Siang and only Lim Kit Siang's parliamentary and state legislative assembly positions. Would love to discuss this with you, thanks. I regret sincerely my bad actions of adding unsourced claims to Biographies of Living Persons (BLPs) and sending legal threats and personal attacks in defending my disruptive and unconstructive edits. Declaration of official withdrawal of legal threats I had made against User:Storchy
I, Lim Zhi Hang, hereby declare that I withdraw any sorts of legal threats I had made against User:Storchy which I threatened "I will sue you if you are to revert my changes again" in an edit summary of Zuraida Kamaruddin. I apologise wholeheartedly and sincerely and regret thoroughly for this. Thank you! Lim Zhi Hang (talk) 11:52, 13 June 2022 (UTC)

However, I shall still wait patiently before these take place. I really hope for your attention especially my blocking administrator User:Bishonen as I had done whatever necessary to qualify for being unblocked, I also hope to receive a reply from User:Storchy who is also involved regarding my apology to them. Thank you for your belief in me that I will fulfil the promises I made in my unblock request, I am grateful and had learnt much from this by taking it as a painful lesson. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from List of presidents of the United States by time in office into Prime Minister of Malaysia. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 16:20, 3 July 2022 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Che Zakaria posing for official portrait, 2018.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Che Zakaria posing for official portrait, 2018.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing
<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:42, 18 October 2022 (UTC)

Term of office of members of the Malaysian Parliament
The 14th Parliament was dissolved on 10 October 2022, therefore the "term_end" for those outgoing members should be 10 October 2022 instead of 19 November 2022. Mike Rohsopht (talk) 10:58, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
- I hope you that you take previous parliamentary terms into consideration. The terms of previous Members of Parliament (MPs) end on the polling day of the elections of the next term. Therefore, 19 November 2022 should be the date. Just as MPs do not officially take office on the polling day, but their terms still start on the polling day of the elections. Although they constitutionally take office when they have been sworn in in Parliament and leave office when the Parliament was dissolved. They are still de facto "caretaker MPs" who take care of their constituencies immediately after they are elected and before they are reelected and or their successors are elected. Please do not add or change content, as you did at Azman Nasrudin, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. That article is a BLP, and the information in the infobox was unverified--that's a BLP violation. That other articles have entire resumes in infoboxes is in fact an invitation to clean up those other articles. Drmies (talk) 01:26, 8 December 2022 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Family Ties (TV series), it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Justanothersgwikieditor (talk) 01:34, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
