Thank you for reverting the four IP edits on Charles W. Morgan. I thought I had done that but I must have forgotten to when I got distracted with warning the IP about vandalism. Cheers —Diiscool (talk) 14:23, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
I'm just curious as to how things work. Earlier today, while doing some Snuggle editing, I discovered this SPA, self-identifying COI and so I reluctantly "rolled over" his edits. What I'm curious about-----is that how you found out? Does a rollover automatically initiate a report? Thanks!```Buster Seven Talk15:26, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
Hey! I undid an reversion you did on Helen, Georgia because it looked to me to be an attempt by a new user to source a claim that Cluebot had misidentified as vandalism. I noted this on the talk page where you left the warning to the new user, but also thought that I should let you know in case there was a misunderstanding on my part! Thanks for your work! Did you intend to put an A7 tag on an article about a person asserted to write a NYT best-seller? Perhaps you meant to use G11 (but promotional as the article is, it is fixable.) Or G12 (I haven't checked, but it is possible) DGG ( talk ) 23:38, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

I notice that when you have been closing AfDs, you have been removing the header line that displays the title of the article under discussion in bold print -- the one that looks like this:
Of course, I will gladly join you - but, with your kind permission, after lunch, perhaps at tea time: The launch of my Amandus church article has left me rather exhausted! --Terminally uncool (talk) 11:57, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
Hi Pharaoh-- thanks for your work at closing AfDs. I was a little surprised though at your close above, though. Non-admins (like myself) are
discouraged from closing contentious discussions. Given that this has been on AfD two previous times, gone to DRV a few times (here and here), and considering the strong arguments from both sides, this is not a discussion I would have personally closed. Would you consider reopening the discussion and letting an administrator close the AfD? Thanks, I, JethroBTdrop me a line02:52, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for your message which I appreciate a lot.I understand
discouraged from closing contentious discussions but this AFD was opened on 15 December 2013 and was relisted twice since Dec 23rd 2013 after which only two editors including you voting Keep and I closed it on Jan 4th 2014.I did go through the (here and here) and all the previous debates and also through all the references .After going through this saw that there was a clear No consensus.Hence closed it using my discretion.Anyway if you wish I can ask an admin to look and decide on reopening but do not think anything was wrong with the closure.Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 22:07, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

An article that I previously recommended for deletion was initially extended for additional discussion, and then closed out early in the middle of the extension. I believe that you are the closer so I wanted to come here to discuss with you and hopefully get the discussion opened back up for further comments. The article was originally recommended for deletion as it looked like an attack page along with 3 other pages that interweaved the subjects Carl Freer, Stefan Eriksson, Tiger Telematics, and Gizmondo. The article for Freer has been nominated for deletion 2 times I was unaware of the 1st time, but I observed after I nominated it back in December that it was previously kept for no-consensus. The 2nd time it was kept and I was unable to follow-up with any comments to the "keep" votes prior to it being closed.
From the discussion, there were a few “keep” votes that gave the following reasons to keep the article:
1. “indicated by sustained coverage of the event in reliable secondary sources which persists beyond contemporaneous news coverage and devotes significant attention to the individual's role."
2. I came to Wikipedia to look the guy up
3. per Universaladdress
The only real policy or guideline reason given to keep the article was form an editor who stated that it meets
WP:GNG
. While I disagree, it still only showed 1 vote that provided a logical basis for keeping the article.
In my opinion, the article doesn’t meet
WP:CRIME
as the event that it talks about is not one that is lasting and sustaining. Of course this is my opinion, not the opinion of another editor who insists on keeping the article alive. I have previously made a report to the BLP noticeboard as the article violates BLP guidelines by having original research, unsourced material, and is basically an attack page. I edited both the articles for Freer and Eriksson; however, only the Freer page seems to be an issue for a single editor pushing to keep the page.
So, since the previous discussion was closed early, I am asking that it be re-opened so that I can opine about the comments that were made and provide additional policy and guideline reasons to delete the article. While it would be simpler for me to nominate the article again, I feel that it would be a disruption to nominate the article a 3rd time when I believe re-opening the 2nd discussion to allow more time for comment would be more appropriate. --JakenBox (talk) 16:39, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Carl Freer - Thanks
Thank you for the information about Carl Freer. Please do not think that I was questioning your judgment, just trying to get something resolved for what appears to be a BLP violation in my opinion. Thank you for the clarification and I will go to the board you suggested to request that the discussion be opened back up. My main thing here is that I do not want to recommend it for deletion a 3rd time after it was just closed. I will go the route you suggested and again thank you for the clarification.--JakenBox (talk) 18:07, 24 February 2014 (UTC)

I am requesting you not to tag the page SAPTASWA BASU for speedy deletion. I am a publicist from Bengal and he is a notable film personality in the Bengali film industry. I have checked all the reference links that are present in the page. The information present is true and anyone from Bengal can verify it. The page does not do any ambiguous promotion and is a reliable source for correct information. The page was deleted previously probably due to some reasons, but now the references placed are correct. If you search you will find numerous film actors and directors from Bengal having their wikipedia pages with absolutely incorrect information with exaggerated promotional stuff. Many pages do not even have good references but are yet present in wiki, safe and sound. You have proposed to delete a wiki entry about Tony Magrathea [1] you have instructed users not to delete the article, Skyring and Wordseventeen have deleted about 97% of the original article. Will you please restore the article to how I left it when you determined the article was up for review. I believe both users may be paid operatives of the Prime Minster of Australia or his political party. i do not think what they have done is in the meaning of your directive. The edit history of Tony Magrathea shows my edits in sequence, with reasons given for each one. Mainly removing inadequate sources and material supported by those sources. It amounts to removal of most of the article, certainly, but in strict accordance with sourcing policy and BLP. Nominating an article for deletion does not take it outside the space of normal editing policy. I'm happy to defend my edits. --Pete (talk) 01:44, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi! Thanks for your work on this SPI - I've been meaning to follow up on that Elance account for some time, and this gave me what I needed to do so. I've cleaned up my notes, and I have about 25 or so socks picked up by jobs they took, some of which have been identified already. As an aside, though, my feeling was that Kickingback77 wasn't one of their accounts, as there was no job identified for the earlier article. I'd assumed that it was a shared account as part of the contract, rather than the master. Not that it matters much, as the result is the same thing. Anyway, as we're going on behavioural evidence, and there isn't any doubt about the jobs, I'll run through my list and handle those ones. - Bilby (talk) 18:27, 16 April 2015 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Sandeep Kumar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I saw an article about paid editing on Jimbo's talk page. It mentioned the website Elance, so I had a look. I created an account on Elance because then you can see more details about stuff, and found on this page:
We need to update an individual's wikipedia page, Bobby Yazdani. Bobby started a new business (investment company) in 2015 and this needs to be reflected on Wikipedia.
Let's focus on his Wikipedia profile: [obscured] /wiki/Bobby_Yazdani
1) Instead of "He is the founder of Saba Software and venture capital firm Signatures Capital." I would like the sentence to say "He is the founder of Saba Software, and is the Founder and Managing Partner of Cota Capital." (removing the bit about Signatures, since that appears later in the overview). For support, please refer to [obscured]
2) On the right, in his "bio box" above his title as founder and managing partner of Signatures Capital, we need to add his title at Cota Capital (also on [obscured] )
3) Also on the right, under "Website", cotapital.com must be listed above Signatures Capital
4) Under "Career", in the sentence that begins "Through his personal and Signatures Capital investments, Bobby's portfolio includes...", we must make the list of his investments consistent with the list on the attached word doc biography
5) Also under career, it cannot end with the SEC clawback line item. We should create three new line items, reflecting the establishment of the Signatures Innovation Fellows at UC Berkeley, his work at Persian Technology Entrepreneurs Network, and his board seat at The Reset Foundation as these are more recent career developments.
It seems to have been reverted, so I'm probably just wasting your time, but I wonder if it's worth it to look into "Catrine M" a bit more, or not? —George8211 / T20:03, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

San Diego Art Institute (San Diego) Wikipedia Page
Hello, Pharaoh of Wizards,
Thank you for contacting me with your initial concerns about the creation of my account and potential problems with future editing. I am relatively new to this particular scenario & am trying to learn the proper protocols as I go. First of all, I am a bit confused by the "conflict of interest" label. On one hand, I read to be weary of setting up an account that may be perceived with such a conflict. On the other hand, I read to go ahead & create an account with complete transparency about my affiliation with the organization's page(s) I wish to edit. I opted for the latter.
My name is Davin Knight. I work on an on-call, contractual basis for San DIego Art Institute (SDAI) as a technical support technician (primarily setup and maintenance of SDAI's Mac computers and local network, including printers, etc.). I am very new in this role & was subsequently presented with the opportunity to address SDAI's need to update some information on their Wikipedia page. In recent months, there have been a few attempts by SDAI user SDAI1439 to simply update information on the page to reflect current practical & philosophical considerations that have changed in the past year with the tenure of a new SDAI Executive Director, Ginger Shulick Porcella. I was enlisted as a result of frustration with the lack of progress on this project. The edits were only intended to reflect recent updates/changes to SDAIs own historical narrative and mission statement. These current, official, published statements can be viewed here on SDAI's website: http://www.sandiego-art.org/company/
As a caveat, there has been a measure of disapproval among a tiny vocal minority of SDAI's membership with Ginger's new role as Executive Director & some of the changes she has introduced - particularly in regard to expanding SDAI's role as a venue for regional, contemporary art. Some of the undos to SDAI1439's edits were done by such individuals who wish to interfere with and impede this shift/expansion of SDAI's Mission.
Other edits, however, were undone by admins as a result of problems with inappropriate or promotional language. After reading these edits, I can see where the admins are coming from. Some of the language needs to be "dialed down" a bit & presented in a more neutral, factual tone (Although, much of the existing language has much of the same "promotional" tone - it is just outdated/inaccurate).
Neutral, factual and current edits are what I wish to accomplish. I would very much appreciate your assistance in vetting the content/language of any future edits. Also, please advise if you feel I still need to make changes to my user ID in regard to a perceived conflict of interest. I believe, however that I can remain neutral in this matter & am completely open to admin vetting. I also just request that admins be aware of disgrunted/former SDAI members undoing edits. This will be greatly appreciated.
Again, my stated goal is simply to bring the information on SDAI's Wikipedia page to a current, complete and accurate state. Thanks again - your time is much appreciated!

Event details: This is a virtual edit-a-thon hosted by WiR in parallel with a series of "physical" Guggenheim edit-a-thons. It will allow all those keen to improve Wikipedia's coverage of women in architecture and design to participate. The campaign aims to further the goals of Ada Lovelace Day for STEM, and Art+Feminism for art, in a field that by its nature combines both. As the virtual edit-a-thon stretches over a week and a half, inexperienced participants will be able to draw on the assistance of more experienced editors while creating, translating or improving articles on women who are (or have been) prominent in this field. All levels of Wikipedia editing experience are welcome.

Hello, thanks for your counter-vandalism efforts! I have a single concern: It seems many of the reports you have made were listed as "vandalism after final warning", yet when I check the contributions and talk page I see that you issued the final warning then reported them to AIV (example). In many cases we don't need them to exceed the final warning, if the vandalism is severe enough. However I still ask that you not falsely report that they had exceeded it. Using Twinkle, you can simply not check any of the checkboxes, and we will still review your report as swiftly as any other. Thank you! — MusikAnimaltalk18:24, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for pointing my error User:Tristanholmes12 was a vandalism only account thanks for blocking the account. But I agree with you here I was wrong here to check box Vandalism after Final only evidently indicate a vandalism-only account should have been checked here. I noticed that you added back information about the Series 1918 notes. I'd like you to reconsider. The Series 1918 bills were not Federal Reserve Notes-in fact, the Fed was prohibited from issuing bills smaller than $5 until 1963. The 1918 issue were Federal Reserve Bank Notes, which are not the same thing. FRBNs were issued against assets owned by the individual banks, and not the system as a whole. Also, they could only be redeemed by the issuing bank, while FRNs could be redeemed at any bank. The Series 1918 notes were really the same thing as any other nationals, except they were issued by a Federal Reserve Bank, instead of a non-fed bank with a national charter. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this. Almostfm (talk) 05:51, 16 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi PotW,
I see you've nominated this for speedy deletion. I know it was created by, I dunno, some probable nasty person? There's possibly some WikiPolitics going on here, something always try to avoid.
Sorry, but you can't use A7 on schools or other educational establishments - it says so on the label. You can use almost anything else (except A9...), though. If the problem is simply significance, it's prod or AfD. There is a phone number in the article... Peridon (talk) 18:47, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi, you nominated VeryoProd for speedy delete, but you only gave the writer 9 minutes after creation. If they were editing they are quite likely to get an edit conflict and not know what to do next. So you should give A3, A1 and A7 nominations a delay of perhaps an hour to give the writer a chance. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:36, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
Hey, I was about to slap an A7 tag on the article. A colleague put a Google search on the talk page, and I browsed through some fifty or sixty results, but cannot find any significant discussion of the organization. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 02:04, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

welcome-I was going to put possibly living though the thing is the rule is they have to be 90+ (though the wording makes it sound like he is dead, so I think possibly living would make more sense IMO) Wgolf (talk) 04:27, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Hasini, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
It is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. (See
section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify

It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See

Your attempted restoration of an article vandalized by an IP address on September 19, 2015, might have been in good faith, but you clearly did not try to make certain that everything matched fully. You wrongfully added production dates in 1994, which has been glaringly misleading information in the article for the past 10 months. The 2nd Gen. truck went into production in July 1993, plus the first generation ended in 1993, so clearly what you put wasn't correct. Please be more cognizant of such errors when editing and not just hit submit. It would've been better to hit revert, to avoid extra complex work. Anyone that has read the article has been given wrong information.---Carmaker1 (talk) 04:30, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

July 2017 at Women in Red
Welcome to Women in Red's July 2017 worldwide online editathons.
Hi Pharaoh of the Wizards, I am relatively new user on Wikipedia. I created the article Yoga Vidya Gurukul recently and have given many reliable and news references. The organization is one of the best and noted organization in India. But as per your suggestion, this article needs to be deleted due to notability issues. Can you pls. help me understand what more needs to be done to make this article useful ? Kautuk1 (talk) 11:41, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
Hello Pharaoh of the Wizards. Your account has been granted the "filemover" user right, either following a request for it or due to a clear need for the ability to move files. Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:File mover for more information on this user right and under what circumstances it is okay to move files. When you move a file please remember to update any links to the new name as well! If you do not want the file mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Hi Pharaoh of the Wizards, I am unexperienced user on Wikipedia. I have received a message from you about tagging me "for speed deleting nomination" me. Please let me know the reasons, I dont understand. You wrote that I can try to avoid it " by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion"." I tried that but I did not find such button. What shall I do now? Please help me! --Laszlo.makay (talk) 09:20, 25 September 2017 (UTC)

How much h index is needed for an article to stay on Wikipedia?
In the deletion discussion of Ashok Vaidya, you mentioned that not enough h index is available. I would like to know how much h index is necessary for an article to stay on Wikipedia and where are guidelines for the same? Thank you. -- Abhijeet Safai (talk) 12:17, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
Looking in, because this is one of my key interests: it depends on the subject, and also upon whether any of the publications is highly cited. No quantity of mediocre work makes for notability. Vaidya is in medical science, where people publish a great many papers, and I doubt if anyone who does not have at least one paper with over 100 citations would be considered notable . Looking at the Google Scholar record, there's 2 review articles with several hundred citations, but they are not research articles His most cited research article, on turmeric, in J Assoc Physicians India , has been cited 61 times. Please re-read WP:PROF,and then try again in Draft space. DGG ( talk ) 17:57, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
Hi. Thankyou for your participation in the challenge series or/and contests. In November The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There will be over $4000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. If this would appeal to you and you think you'd be interested in contributing new articles on women during this month for your region or wherever please sign up in the participants section. The articles done may also count towards the ongoing challenge. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate and raise money to buy books about women for others to use, this is also fine. Help would also be appreciated in drawing up the lists of missing articles. If you think of any missing articles please add them to the sub lists by continent at Missing articles. Thankyou, and if taking part, good luck!♦ Dr. Blofeld16:33, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi there Pharaoh of the Wizards, I'm a little confused about this edit you made to Yangtse Evening Post. I understand you were updating and adding an infobox, but did you really mean to remove the edit I made about twenty minutes earlier? I thought it might be a mistake, but didn't want to put it back just incase I was missing something here. I've never seen the word language be considered a proper noun, which is why I removed the capital letter. Should I not be doing this? Cmr08 (talk) 02:51, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
Sorry my error while updating and adding the infobox did not realise I changed it.

The redirect was done the wrong way round, and the talk page kept going in a loop. These are fixed now. I don't think we need a redirect for Marshall Perera though. Might want to remove that redirect.- ක - (talk) 20:13, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
