Project News
  • Wikipedia Weekly 15: Wikipedia Weekly, a informal Wikipedians' program that purports to give "A weekly audio roundup of Wikipedia happenings with news, interviews and roundtable discussions" recently interviewed two prominent editors
content. Rama's Arrow cited the team spirit, friendship and respect among project members in discussing its success and FA productivity, as well as discussing subcontinental wiki-conflict. Ragib talked also of his public campaign to raise awareness of the Bengali Wikipedia in his native Bangladesh
, which has seen a 30-fold increase in article count over the past year.
What's New?
  • Technopark, Kerala (nom) and Western Chalukya Empire (nom) were featured from our WikiProject recently, since our last edition. 'Dineshkannambadi has been a phenomenal force in the production of FAs recently, being responsible for three of these eight articles. He has totalled five FAs, all relating to Kannada
    history.
Congratulations to all contributors who helped to develop the above content to represent the best of Wikipedia!

Re:TFA/R

Hi,

There are many reasons for non-approval of TRA/R. The most common one is that articles are so chosen that they don't over-represent a broad topic. For example, Technopark is India-related article. The IIT Kharagpur's article came on the front page on 16th March. This means it was just two-and-half weeks away. Also note that Ziaur Rehman's article came on the front page on 2nd April. Although not directly related to India, the article is still related to sub-continent. You can also consider Cleveland article as one of the culprits. It appeared on the front page on 29th March, and just like Technopark, it is a "Geography and Places" article. Hope you understand how difficult it is for Raul to schedule the articles when so many things have to be kept in mind. There is no formula for success. If the date that you request is significant for the article, there is a better chance of getting selected on that day. Otherwise there are so many issues that you can never be sure that the article would be scheduled. Hope this was helpful. — Ambuj Saxena (talk) 19:37, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Special note to spamlist users: Apologies for the formatting issues in previous issues. This only recently became a problem due to a change in HTML Tidy; however, I am to blame on this issue. Sorry, and all messages from this one forward should be fine (I hope!) -Ral315
