As a 'newbie' I did not know about this. I edited most of my contribution - removing the content - as it may have some inaccuracies and I have asked someone with greater knowledge to review before I reinstate.

I don't understand the reason for the deletion in the events edition of November 4. _ Becky Hill and Adriana Chechik are two celebrities who were not listed with their date of birth between the births of their respective dates (February 14 and November 4) and I placed them. I don't understand why you deleted my edits.

Hi, sorry to bother you. Noticed that you have previously reverted this user for adding links that are not RS. However, it looks like they kept adding them over and over again 1 and 2. What you did was correct. That user is repeatedly adding inappropriate external links, which should be removed. But the user should be warned on their talk page, and action taken against them if they persist. —Bruce1ee 14:27, 19 January 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for the response. As an administrator you remain 100% a volunteer. You can and should continue to do whatever work you desire as an admin. It does, however, give you the ability to just act on things rather than reporting them to AIV, UAA, and other places. Hello Bruce1ee, I just re-added the 1963 entry to the page August 27 along with two citations. I was not aware that citations were now expected for those; I fully support that improvement since I always wondered why those entries were -not- cited. In addition I think this event (18 men killed) was noteworthy as an example of the spate of mining disasters (there were many) in that era which led to more stringent safety requirements. Hi Bruce1ee - I see you've removed my adding of Tanita Tikaram from the Birth list of August 12. I'm totally used to things being challenged on Wikipedia, and I fully accept the caution needed to keep the encyclopedia trustworthy. But, just so I understand it correctly - you removed the entry because the attached reference was "user generated". What is not considered user generated? Most content online is generated by human hand. So what would qualify as a reliable source for this sort of thing? Where would I look?
I see that the online music service Last.fm has an entry too, where mrs. Tikaram's birthday is listed (https://www.last.fm/music/Tanita+Tikaram/+wiki). But that too is written by a human being - not a machine. Does that mean, that Last.fm is not a trustworthy source too?
Finally, on the WP-article about 'Tanita Tikaram' there's another reference to a printed media (I think it is). Can that reference be re-used in anyway on the Birth-list? I tried to attach it too, but the system called an 'Error'. Maybe you can have a look?

No problem, the offending edit was reverted. To prevent this happening again, I'd suggest creating a Wikipedia account and making sure you are logged in before you edit. If the device you are using is shared by others you need to logout after you have finished editing. Hi there! You probably know that you reverted my edit on the January 22 page (where I added Étienne Bacrot on the births list) that I redid and changed the citation for. You said that you undid the edit because the source doesn't give his full DoB (date of birth). However, from the date in the title, and the given year of his birth, you can pretty much infer that Bacrot was born on January 22, 1983. Therefore, I don't know if the reversion was necessary. All new additions to days-of-the-year pages now require an

DOY style. The reason why many of the existing entries have no inline citations is because they are old. There is a project underway to added inline citations to all entries. —Bruce1ee

I really don't think this is necessary as I think this page is already well summarised with proper citations after your last edit. About the notability of the following elements of the Cherryh's works?

@Piotrus: I feel the Jump article can be redirected. The bulk of the text comes from primary sources (Cherryh's novels, her web pages, and fan sites), and there just aren't enough reliable third-party sources to support its claims. The Azi and Mri articles were both PRODed in February this year and I added a handful of reliable third-party sources to both articles and dePRODed them. The sources discuss the azi and mri in reasonable detail, but I'm not sure whether there is enough in-depth coverage to justify free-standing articles. I think you should raise this on the article's talk pages and ping the major article contributors to gauge their thoughts. —Bruce1ee 14:38, 19 August 2021 (UTC)

I do not understand why my edit was reverted. It was about the Battle of Guilford Court House in 1781, and it linked directly to the Wiki article on that specific battle. You were correct in calling it a good-faith edit, but I'm giving up at this point. I've twice experienced this kind of "editing", to make an edit and have it reverted for violation of a rule of which I'd never been aware before, making a change as needed, only to have it reverted again because of another rule of which I was not aware. We used to put up "citation needed". Things change; now we just revert.

I have gotten too old and out of practice -- that was only my third edit all this year. It was in good faith and with good intent, but it ain't true lest all the i's are dotted properly. Not your fault directly, but this conversation is my last edit. `` Couillaud (talk) 03:05, 28 August 2021 (UTC)

Cherryh's Feminist Transformation of Space Opera and journal articles on her works in resources like JSTOR and EBSCO. Btw, check out space travel in science fiction which I recently wrote, slightly related to my lit review for when we were redirecting Cherryh's universe "jump drive" term. I reverted it, then realized you had incorrectly linked Curing (food preservation) in the file caption, so I reinstated the correct link here. I did not revert to your version. Hello.

Why are you erasing my recent edit in August 17 where I added a wikilink, because that specific topic has its own existing article: 1668 North Anatolia earthquake? No reason is given when you erased it. The other topic is the article 1949 Karlıova earthquake, which I added, but was erased. What is the justification for erasing them?

The first one looks ok, even though I can't read Turkish; I can't see the text of the second one. I'd suggest re-adding this event to August 17 with these references and what other editors think. —Bruce1ee 06:19, 27 September 2021 (UTC)

The University Website, can be deciphered via a machine translator, which I used, as long as it is acceptable.

I also want to add the wikilink of the existing article 1668 North Anatolia earthquake in the already existing topic in August 17. Likewise, should I also add a source with the wikilink (that article has plenty of academic sources), so it can stay?

This source for the 1668 earthquake also includes the 1949 earthquake:

Thank you. Because I live in the Eastern Hemisphere, I will wait at least 7 hours until its daytime in the Western Hemisphere and then ask the users (some of whom I presume live in the Western Hemisphere) and add the additional event and sources in the article.

Hey there! I have been working on fixing Linter errors for two years now, and I've recently started focusing on links in links after clearing out the bogus image options and the fostered content (almost) errors in article space (with help from other gnomes). I noticed that you are also working on links in links, and I wanted to make sure that you are aware of Wikipedia:CHECKWIKI/WPC 513 dump and this table, which links to error reports for each namespace. I find each report useful in different ways. The dump report is updated only a couple of times a month, but is particularly useful for finding all links that follow a given pattern. Today I've been fixing links that contain the string "baseball", for example, since they end up being only four or five different patterns, mostly. @Jonesey95: Thanks for that. The table I know about and use extensively. I haven't seen the dump before and I think I'm going to find that very useful. My linter repair work here is rather sporadic, although I tend to focus on bogus file options, links in links, missing end tags, and obsolete HTML. Just thought you should know that the addition of the logo you reverted is actually intended to have a "broken" look to it, with the A wrapping from one line to the next. This Japanese name 忽那汐里 is read Kutsuna Shiori, not Shioli, because there is no L in Japanese sounds. She was born in Sydney, not in Japan, and she may also use Shioli has a surname or actor's name. Both AppleTv credits and IMDb always write her first name Shioli, but all the authority sources and also the Wikipedia entry,

The name of this band is The Who, not the Who and as the correct way to spell an established name, both words should be referred to via capital letters. one wouldn't spell a first name in lower case and the surname with capital letters so therefore my edits are valid. For instance, you wouldn't spell the name of the band Cold Play as cold Play, would you? please don't revert any of my edits on these entries again as the "The" is clearly part of the band's name and intended to be spelt with both words as capital letters.
