1975 referendum: errors in numbers of YES votes

The numbers of yes votes were originally shown as: Wales 869135; All UK 17378581: and the numbers tally.

However at some stage you changed these figures to: Wales 865139; All UK 17378851; and the numbers no longer tally.

Will you correct these in both articles?----Ehrenkater (talk) 16:10, 31 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of British political crisis, 2016

The article British political crisis, 2016 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This appears to be a largely factually accurate account of somewhat related major political events but their portrayal as one recognised phenomenon and characterisation as a crisis seems to be unsupported, novel and POV.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

I have reverted as I was not aware of this rule I apologies I am just very frustrated at this problem. (MOTORAL1987 (talk) 19:08, 30 March 2018 (UTC))[reply]
Thank you. I'm sorry you're frustrated, but we have a referendum template for a reason – to ensure consistency. When people start making up their own templates, we lose that consistency, and it can then become a problem on other articles when editors see a table in one article and start making arguments along the lines of "if it's ok there, why can't we use it here" etc. Number 57 19:09, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There is been no problem until today with the template for the EU referendum, in fact I have built on the template and used it in other articles as I think it’s much clearer to see and also it has a nice professional quality to it and I am really upset that it’s no longer accepted when it’s been on the article for about a year. (MOTORAL1987 (talk) 19:13, 30 March 2018 (UTC))[reply]
It doesn't matter that something hasn't been identified as a problem for a certain amount of time – some issues on Wikipedia are not corrected for many years. And it was creating problems because people were occasionally trying to copy the format into other articles. Again, I'm sorry that you're upset, but really you should never have created a non-standard table in the first place when we already had an existing one. I think the template also violates
WP:MOSICON as there is no reason for the flag to be included. Number 57 19:17, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply
]

Well good luck with all the reverting as virtually all UK referendum articles carry this version of the template and I am very proud of my work regardless of weither it has broken rules or not. (MOTORAL1987 (talk) 19:24, 30 March 2018 (UTC))[reply]

Just to let you know, if you revert across any of the articles again, then I'm going to be requesting that your main account is blocked. How to denote a signatory to a treaty who subsequently withdrew from it

Just a note to assure you that I recognise your good faith in trying to find a way to denote a signatory to a treaty who subsequently withdrew from it. It is a very important issue, with widespread implications. For example, what if a signatory withdrew unilaterally? Or signed it and then ignored it anyway? Yes, we need some way to indicate such things but I really believe that it is too important for a

WP:BEBOLD. It needs raising at wikipedia talk:Manual of Style first. As you identified the issue first, then you should be the one to raise it: I will definitely support your doing so if you do a reply here or leave a note on my talk page. Brexit topics template: bye-elections

If you look at the recent history of that template, you will see that I reverted the addition of four bye-elections in 2016 and 2017, because no reason was given and it seemed to me to be just more clutter. You have just added a couple more but not those ones. I'm walking away now but maybe you should either add those four or else add a comment to explain the criteria for inclusion. There is no doubt, for example, that Goldsmith lost the Richmond Park bye-election because of being a hard brexiteer in a strongly remain constituency. --

Sorry about that I was wanting to kinda bring the article into line with the Irish article. I don’t know why the UK article has to be classed as a “list” but in light of what you have said I have reverted all changes to before I started making changes, sorry. Category suppression needed at User:MOTORAL1987

Hi. Just a friendly reminder about user page categorization.

I've noticed your user page (linked above) is appearing in regular content categories. See

WP:USERNOCAT
for additional information.

Usually the situation is remedied by placing a leading colon at the beginning of each category declaration like so:

[[:Category:United Kingdom politics sidebar templates]]

or, by bracketing any category declaration(s) with Template:Draft categories like this:

{{Draft categories|
[[Category:United Kingdom politics sidebar templates]]
}}

Either method will disable the category function. Thank you. Cheers! --DB1729talk 13:24, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, what is it I might have inadvertently done as specifically to which article or sidebar? (MOTORAL1987 (talk) 17:03, 2 May 2023 (UTC))[reply]

Your Request

Hi, you have a request here which I'm currently working on. To be able to get further I need your feedback on some questions I have there, thanks for your support. --always ping me-- Goran tek-en (talk) 12:21, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

April 2024

Risegate a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution
. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is

"Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Crouch, Swale (talk) 16:43, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply

Good Evening @User:Crouch, Swale I do apologise I was simply trying to move the Risegate article into “Gosberton Risegate as it had already been created as the villege is officially called “Gosberton Risegate” not “Risegate”. (MOTORAL1987 (talk) 17:00, 24 April 2024 (UTC))[reply]
