Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. An offer to contribute via copyediting
Hi RV! (I borrowed that abbreviation from your signature, hope it's okay ☺️). My name is Chelsea, or Chiselinccc on here, and I stumbled across some of your recent work on interesting articles. First of all, thanks for that, and for all you clearly contribute to DYK!
I wanted to offer my help, if it's not weird, to do some copyediting when needed. You see, I've been an English-language editor for 20 years now, and I find refining other people's copy very relaxing 😅 Being somewhat new to participating in Wikipedia, I'm still looking for places to contribute in a positive way.
I noticed that you have a great deal of awesome content you contribute and refine, but some of the phrasing can turn out a little different from standard encyclopedic language. I hope this doesn't offend- you clearly speak and write at a high level of proficiency, English can just be weird and complicated. I only speak one other language, German, and I've been told by native speakers I sound a bit like a little kid because I don't have all the noun genders memorized, so you're way ahead of me on that!
Since you are often focused, from what I can see, on getting good DYK content submitted, and the reviewers for that take grammar and writing style into consideration, I thought it might be helpful to make the following offer:
You can ping me via username, or post a link on my talk page, when you've got new content pretty close to finished, but before you submit for things like DYK. That way, the process of review will go more quickly as a "first set of eyes" will have passed through already! (I'm sure I'll miss mistakes too, but as I'm unfamiliar with the topics you write about, I think I'll be a good "test subject" that it all makes sense to the layperson.)
This is just a friendly offer, and if you're not interested, no worries! I'm a bit nervous to create content of my own, and you seem so driven and focused, that I felt like it could be a good match-up. I am in the Guild of Copy Editors, but the requests posted there are often huge articles which are overly technical and would require a lot of work. At present, I'm still mostly editing from mobile, and the posts you contribute would be downright fun to review and give a first pass in terms of wider readability outside of technical expertise.
I hope you take this as the friendly, team-focused offer I intend, and again, no worries if you're uninterested in utilizing my peer review skills! Thanks for your work and have a great day.

- One of the notable features of Wikipedia is its collaborative nature, which allows for collective editing. Thank you, Chiselinccc, for your kind words and offer of copy editing. I appreciate your concern. It will be a great. Thanks RV (talk) 07:04, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- Awesome RV, glad to collaborate! You're my first true "wiki-friend," lol! I'm in an American time zone (Las Vegas) but often up in the nighttime too- if I receive pings or messages from you regarding new text, I'll respond when I'm online and let you know how quickly I'll be able to review, or in rare instances I'm unavailable, I'll let you know so you aren't waiting on me.
- Cheers, and I look forward to working on articles with you!
