@Thanoscar21: Hi there! I noticed you reverted my edits to Curious George (film). There were three edits affected by this revert: (1) revising the film's plot summary; (2) slight modification to the character list; and (3) and adding sourced information about the film's premiere.

For (1): per

WP:FILMPLOT

, "[s]ince films are primary sources in their articles, basic descriptions of their plots are acceptable without reference to an outside source."

For (2): this edit was made based on

WP:CASTLIST, which advises that we should "name the most relevant actors and roles with the most appropriate rule of thumb for the given film." If this is a sourcing issue, I would note that like the plot section, casts are often just listed plainly, even in featured articles (e.g. Hoodwinked! and Sense and Sensibility

).

For (3): The information about the film's premiere was included with a link to CBS News, which should certainly be a reliable source.

@NinjaRobotPirate: Thanks for the message! I'm just not sure (but certainly open to being convinced) that the claimant section of the AFI catalog is the determinant of a film's country we should use. To take some featured articles as examples, should Evita be listed as a British-American film and Fight Club as a German-American film? (I see that in the Fight Club infobox the German listing is noted as a source of international funding, but it's referred to as an American film in the first sentence of the article.) Any insight would be appreciated, and you certainly have more experience with film articles than me! Wikipedia is based on what the sources say. It doesn't really matter if any of us is convinced that they're right. If the weight of sources says something else, that's something to consider, of course. The

Lumiere (which calls it "American") and the British Film Institute (which calls it "American-German"). Trade magazines, such as Variety, are also a common source for Hollywood films, but they're sometimes paywalled. NinjaRobotPirate (talk

Yeah, "convinced" was a poor choice of words on my part—I wasn't doubting the veracity of AFI, but merely meant that I wasn't familiar with what a film claimant was and how that related to a film's country of origin. Our project

Good afternoon DanCherek. I noted a recent edit you made to the Delta Delta Delta page, reverting vandalism. Thanks for that.

Should you have further interest in Greek societies, we'd welcome your participation on our shared project, the Fraternities and Sororities Project.

For many of us, these institutions represent a very impactful period in our lives. I know of several chapter advisors among the regular 300 participants, along with general alumni and undergrads that are Wiki-savvy. We presently keep an eye on 1,500 or so Greek pages, while a fairly substantial number of recent or dormant local chapters don't make the cut. There are perhaps 6,000 locals that do not have a Wikipedia article, and maybe 50 that do - mostly at Ivy League schools. Long ago, the

Baird's Manual

editors decided to include as national groups those societies that had three or more chapters, or locals that met a certain bar of longevity: ten years or more. We follow that same logic.

The Project page lists several items on our To Do list, but among them are:

1. Review any of our watched pages for vandalism.
2. Update chapter information for the many lists of chapters.
3. Write an article to list the Greeks on a particular campus. 50 of these have been done, so far.
4. Research a new article for a page that is missing. On our watchlist, these show up as red links.
5. Vote on whether to keep a contested page or not.

There is a debate among editors on Wikipedia about whether to aggressively delete articles or allow their inclusion, based on a notoriously fickle determination of NOTIBILITY. Once an article is factually and cleanly written, I personally favor Inclusion, in order to make life easier for future researchers. Especially for fraternity, sorority and collegiate society articles.

If this last issue is of interest, you may wish to weigh in on a recent discussion of an "Article for Deletion" or AfD: Two or three of these crop up each month. One we are currently discussing is Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Delta Beta Phi. Voting is simple, and the instructions are at the top. Just add a line, with your vote, to Keep or Delete (or some other option) bolded at the start of the line.

It's annoying - certain individuals have wasted a whole load of my time here. "Like a dog returneth to its vomit..." - there are folk who just can't stay away from this site, and waste a lot of other people's time because we're all assuming good faith. That's not to say that we shouldn't continue to AGF: we need to do that even when we're doubtful. But when you're convinced - you did exactly the right thing, write a concise but convincing report and allow someone else to review and deal with it. I'll just post the changes below. To the three points you raised in the review:

1) That's a good catch, I didn't see it that way, thanks for correcting.

2) Regarding the name of the band in the hook, if you see Please Please Me and Goats Head Soup, you'll find the band titles have used "the" and not "The" in the middle of the sentence.

3) Agreed that it can be condensed, so here's an alternate hook:

The remaining thing I'd mentioned was whether the poem was actually written in 1981 (the Pitchfork source says his wife died in 1981 and he wrote the poem sometime after that). The article is fine, but I would either drop the year from the hook, or add the information about Elegies to the article and change the hook year to 1985. Does that make sense? DanCherek - Just trying to provide more info

Hi DanCherek. You recently removed my LinkedIn linked for two of the founders of FiscalNote, Gerald Yao, and Jonathan Chen. Neither of which have a WIKI page as Tim Hwang does. Wikipedia is about providing as much information to the reader as possible. I added those Linkedin links so people can learn more about the founders since they do not have their own wiki pages. I AM NOT TRYING to SPAM with those links or promote anything. I am assuming you don't know much about the topic of FiscalNote nor the founders, however, I could be wrong so please stop removing the links. WP:LINKSTOAVOID guidelines a good read: #10 specifies that external links to social networking sites, including LinkedIn, should not be added to an article. If people don't have Wikipedia articles because they don't meet the strict notability guidelines, it's totally fine (and expected) to just leave them as plain text—you'll see instances of this in every Wikipedia article. By the way - an afterthought. I noticed the problem with the refs because I have this script installed. It doesn't tell you what the problem is, but it makes big red ugly warning messages appear on the page when the refs aren't all in order. It also tells you if you've got an entry in the sources that you haven't cited. Highly recommended if you want to find hard-to-spot problems. Davys3193, you can't write that someone is "a fake news specialist" on Wikipedia, especially without providing a single reliable source to back it up. Wikipedia has a policy on biographies of living persons that imposes strict guidelines on how information needs to be sourced to reliable, published sources; "i have proof" isn't going to cut it. Well the proof i had was the twitter post by this person claiming Coronil has been granted WHO clearance and DGCA clearance for covid medication and then WHO themselves stating in their official pages that they have not provided any clearance. Furthermore DGCA has sough explanation for the government of India on how these claims were made. All these information is there in public record. A responsible journalist does not peddle news without verifying, if he does he is supposed to be called out for propagating fake news. good luck with your Vigilante work but u need to get your facts straight as well. It wasn't until afterwards that I realized that the UK has a similar system, where the Cabinet members are also MPs, so I think you're spot on and it wouldn't be surprising to half the world, and that's why I'm happy to go with ALT1. In the US, where I'm from, if a member of Congress is nominated to a cabinet position, they have to resign from their legislative duties. Ok, that's good to hear. I had also thought of the UK system and how Boris Johnson is the PM and also an MP, so that's two out of the three. And hey thanks for finding and uploading images of the Finnish politicians! I'll add them to the articles in other Wikipedias. I don't know how familiar you are with editing Wikidata, but did you know that if you add an image to a person's Wikidata item, the image will automatically appear in those Wikipedias where the infobox images are taken directly from Wikidata? For example, I added Eskelinen's image to Wikidata, and it is now in the French Wikipedia article, even though I didn't edit the article there. It's a bit of extra work to add the images to Wikidata, and you're already doing a lot by creating articles, but I thought I'd mention it, in case you'd be interested in adding the images you upload also to WD. So I kinda have a conflict of interest with the Wikipedia article for my town (not going to link to it for my own privacy) because I love the town and want more people to visit hit. However, if I were to add information to the article for my town I would risk making it seem like a travel guide, telling people places they should visit, instead of giving information on the town itself.

COI is not simply bias. (That links to the COI guidelines, which also state Beliefs and desires may lead to biased editing, but they do not constitute a COI.) You may be biased with respect to your town, but unless you stand to gain financially or professionally (e.g. if you run a travel agency), that's not really a conflict-of-interest issue. Actual COI problems, including undisclosed paid editing, abound on Wikipedia, so it's helpful to draw the line at what is and is not COI. DanCherek (talk

I know Mr. George Kiraly personally and he has been a notable figure in the homosexual community and has contributed to great achievements to the progress of homosexual rights and awareness in the United States.
