Newsletter
The WP:IND newsletter has been dormant for nearly a year now. I'm planning to revive it by starting work on the June 2010 edition. Possible theme - focus on article quality (number of FA, GA, notable reviews, saves etc. - there have been a number of India related GAN and FAR over the past couple of months) and also the assessment department. Can you help out? Regards, SBC-YPR (talk) 14:50, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- The completed edition is available here. Please do the needful w.r.t. distribution to the project participants. Regards, SBC-YPR (talk) 09:36, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
- OK.. I will be delivering it on Monday -- Tinu Cherian - 14:38, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
- Nice work, friends. I have made some minor changes. Substituted the todo list.. Shifted a few things from left to right. Can you see if it fits aligned in your browser and resolution too ? Wonder why Category:Indian caste system is seen on the page. Please let me know your comments before 5:00 PM Monday ( 28 June,2010) . I will set my bot to deliver the newsletter to the talk pages -- Tinu Cherian - 16:24, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

Hi This is a complaint against a used named sodabottle. I added Hindi, Malayalam and Hindi scripts in Coimbatore page. (i.e just name of the Coimbatore City in these three languages). Mr sodabottle warned me that I should not used other languages in this page and if continue to do so he will block me from editing in Wikipedia. What is this? Kindly advise. my id is [email protected] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.178.180.101 (talk) 08:54, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
- Prakash, I have been repeatedly asking you not to add Hindi and Malayalam scripts to the Coimbatore page. I asked you to discuss this in the article's discussion page. You ignore my warnings and continue to insert the scripts. When someone is not agreeing to your edits in Wikipedia, you should discuss in the article's discussion page before inserting them again. If you look closely i have explained why Hindi/Malayalam script should not be added to Coimbatore - a)The word "coimbatore" is Tamil b)Hindi and Malayalam speakers are a tiny minority in the city. If we start adding native scripts of all languages spoken in all cities, then the articles will become unmanageable. --Sodabottle (talk) 09:21, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
- Prakash, I have to agree with User:Sodabottle. The consensus is to add only the official native language only of a place. Translation of Coimbatore in Tamil is more than enough. Interwiki languages to other language wikipedias will redirect users to other language pages. -- Tinu Cherian - 15:36, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

WikiCup 2010 July newsletter
We are half-way through our penultimate round, and nothing is yet certain. Pool A, currently led by
Planning has begun for the 2011 WikiCup, with open discussions concerning scoring and flags for next year's competition. Contributions to those discussions would be appreciated, especially concerning the flags, as next year's signups cannot begin until the flag issue has been resolved. Signups will hopefully open at some point in this round, with discussion about possible changing in the scoring/process opening some time afterwards.
Earlier this round, we said goodbye to
