Greetings. In no way am I hurrying your completion of the moderation process for the article. All I ask, is if you'd consider correcting one crucially misleading use of language in the introduction; where the article states "and to restrict" as if to suggest there are additional restrictions beyond preventing internal trade barriers (by principles of non-discrimination and mutual recognition). The editor with by far the most reverts to this precise text finally conceded this fact on the talk page.

The article is overtly critical throughout but I, like others, have resigned myself to the fact no-one has the free time to have a never ending war of attrition of wikipedia policy bingo, fighting disingenuous arguments in an attempt to balance an article detailing legislation... but if we could just have the article not begin on a misleading premise, that's +1 for wikipedia being informative rather than a political tool. 146.198.108.170 (talk) 21:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)

My most sincere apologies for adding more of this to your talk page but the reply above will hopefully be seen in context to be as disingenuous as it genuinely is. They don't want to spell out what the restrictions are because it sounds much more of an imposition if you can make it vague, this has been the problem throughout. The editor's history on this article is only to focus on anything which could make the act sound like the UK government treading on the devolved administrations, I'm no fan of the government but I have more than a passing interest in objectivity. Regarding this edit: as unsolicited advice, please feel free to ignore the following, particularly if you're already aware of it. You responded to a comment that started with *: with a comment that started with :::. The first comment nested a second-level unbulleted list item within an existing first-level bulleted list item. Changing the first character to : changed the first-level list to an unbulleted one, and nested two more unbulleted list items below it. This causes screen readers to announce the closing of two list levels and the opening of three new list levels.

To avoid this additional overhead for those using screen readers, and to prevent (under some circustances, depending on the surrounding wikitext) a more verbose output for those using the visual diff option, you can follow the conventions described at Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Accessibility § Lists. RexxS has a essay, Wikipedia:Colons and asterisks, and I have my own, User:Isaacl/On wikitext list markup, that also cover this. In a nutshell: use the same prefix as the comment to which you're replying, and then add the character of your choice to it. Would you unblock one of my IPs that was blocked for an unproven reason? I didn't even know it was blocked until the admin who did it said something, nor was the refresh intentional, I have limited ability over what my router does. When I asked them to give evidence, I was reverted given no explanation, then they closed a discussion I opened doubling down on their false accusations. Ha! No, I wasn't, and thank you, that's exactly the kind of example I was looking for. But how can that be a controversy? WP:BIRD and can be seen in my FA's (at least, in my opinion). The same for plant articles too. I think by allowing non-standard headers we create a poor quality encyclopedia, and make it harder for readers to find info. If I had it my way, I think I would change every bird article to follow a standard section layout as close as possible. Though thankfully, bird articles tend to be not controversial, they are a relaxing place to work. I've never had a disagreement with another bird editor. Much less stressful than politics or anything in the culture wars...I highly recommend all editors have a "calm area" to work in. A sort of encyclopedic paradise, so to speak. Oh I'm so with you on calm areas. In fact, recently, after a healthy dose of drama, I retreated all the way to my sandbox (where no one can revert me!) and started working on little side projects. Birds are the only organisms that have official names. For several years there was a standoff between ornithological editors and MOS people and others. Eventually things came to a head in 2014. See Wikipedia_talk:Naming_conventions_(fauna)#Bird_article_name_(capitalisation) leading to Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style/Archive_156#Bird_common_name_decapitalisation, after which several birdwatching editors reduced their wikiactivity for a period. The second round of the 2021 WikiCup has now finished; it was a high-scoring round and contestants needed 61 points to advance to Round 3. There were some impressive efforts in the round, with the top eight contestants all scoring more than 400 points. A large number of the points came from the 12 featured articles and the 110 good articles achieved in total by contestants, as well as the 216 good article reviews they performed; the GAN backlog drive and the stay-at-home imperative during the COVID-19 pandemic may have been partially responsible for these impressive figures.

Our top scorers in Round 2 were:

• The Rambling Man, with 2963 points from three featured articles, 20 featured article reviews, 37 good articles, 73 good article reviews, as well as 22 DYKs.
• Epicgenius, with 1718 points from one featured article, 29 good articles, 16 DYKs and plenty of bonus points.
• Bloom6132, with 990 points from 13 DYKs and 64 "In the news" items, mostly recent deaths.
• Hog Farm, with 834 points from two featured articles, five good articles, 14 featured article reviews and 15 good article reviews.
• Gog the Mild, with 524 points from two featured articles and four featured article reviews.
• Lee Vilenski, with 501 points from one featured article, three good articles, six featured article reviews and 25 good article reviews.

Hi, in regard to this [10] discussion on 15 April I suspected the IP would be back. You said if he returned you would extend the block. You can see from his recent IP edit it the same person [11]

The IP traces to the same geographical area and is making the same personal attacks [12]. This user was indefinite blocked in the past [13] but now uses IPs every month. He stalks my account and if I use a talk-page to leave a comment he shows up. It's a bit sad really but not much can be done about it but I believe the block should be extended on that IP. Hi! I see from here that you were also involved with this band. Do you know if they ever disclosed the information that you requested? FYI, I blocked the band account LIME MANAGER and Mr. Cooper's current account for NLT. Do you think Robbcoop should also be banned since they're clearly the same account. Not particularly concerned about the socking element as they're not contradicting one another. The third round of the 2021 WikiCup has now come to an end. Each of the sixteen contestants who made it into the fourth round had at least 294 points, and our top six scorers all had over 600 points. They were:

• The Rambling Man, with 1825 points from 3 featured articles, 44 featured article reviews, 14 good articles, 30 good article reviews and 10 DYKs. In addition, he completed a 34-article good topic on the EFL Championship play-offs.
• Epicgenius, a New York specialist, with 1083 points from 2 featured article reviews, 18 good articles, 30 DYKs and plenty of bonus points.
• Bloom6132, with 869 points from 11 DYKs, all with bonus points, and 54 "In the news" items, mostly covering people who had recently died.
• Gog the Mild, with 817 points from 3 featured articles on historic battles in Europe, 5 featured article reviews and 3 good articles.
• Hog Farm, with 659 points from 2 featured articles and 2 good articles on American Civil War battles, 18 featured article reviews, 2 good articles, 6 good article reviews and 4 DYKs.
• BennyOnTheLoose, a snooker specialist and new to the Cup, with 647 points from a featured article, 2 featured article reviews, 6 good articles, 6 good article reviews and 3 DYKs.

In round three, contestants achieved 19 featured articles, 7 featured lists, 106 featured article reviews, 72 good articles, 1 good topic, 62 good article reviews, 165 DYKs and 96 ITN items. We enter the fourth round with scores reset to zero; any content promoted after the end of round 3 but before the start of round 4 can be claimed in round 4. Please also remember that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them (one contestant in round 3 lost out because of this). Technical news

• IP addresses of unregistered users are to be hidden from everyone. There is a rough draft of how IP addresses may be shown to users who need to see them. This currently details allowing administrators, checkusers, stewards and those with a new usergroup to view the full IP address of unregistered users. Editors with at least 500 edits and an account over a year old will be able to see all but the end of the IP address in the proposal. The ability to see the IP addresses hidden behind the mask would be dependent on agreeing to not share the parts of the IP address they can see with those who do not have access to the same information. Accessing part of or the full IP address of a masked editor would also be logged. Comments on the draft are being welcomed at the talk page.

Hi, per the discussion on your talk-page a while back [16] and the consensus at the admin board [17], [18] JustANameInUse a banned user who was using many IPs to harass editors as "vegan activists" was blocked. This users IP range was blocked for several months but his block has expired and he is now back on 93.141.108.249 [19] and probably others. I think the disruption has actually overall gone slightly down in the last week or so. We've seen a lot worse at Ivermectin and Bret Weinstein, because this is where the tabloid press/tv news pundits were most vocal! There were some disruptions at GoFR, but after ArbCom helpfully answered my clarification request, and ToBeFree semi-protected it, that's mostly been taken care of.

Even so, I do fear that this newest ArbE will result in a resurgence of disruption, which is what happened after the last ArbE where User:Normchou was TBAN'd [22]. We saw a huge increase in disruptive editing, and provoking/grandstanding on all sides. I proposed the Normchou ArbE, and I felt like I was walking on eggshells! Some users tried to ArbE me, unsuccessfully about a week later [23]. Anyway, suffice to say, it has gotten pretty heated :) More admin/Arbcom eyes are always appreciated.
