I dispute the reason given for rejecting an article about the not-for-profit Irish state agency Pobal. The stated reason is that there is insufficient mention in independent reputable sources. This is incorrect as any google site search for Pobal on rte.ie (national broadcaster), irishtimes.com (paper of record) or independent.ie (other mass circulation paper) will show. Like many quangos that deal with child services issues and handle large amounts of funds for state and EU agencies, in a not-entirely-transparent or accountable way, Pobal has been in the news a number of times over the years with various politicians and agencies alleging mis-use of funds or even corruption. But for me to arbitrarily pick a "best of" list of controversies for the article, would result in an unbalanced article that would potentially fall foul of NPOV. Finally, there is already an article for Pobal on the site, which is misleading because it is about the now-defunct NI language advocacy group, which is of far less notability than the actually-existing (RoI) state funding body. Leaving the one without including the other is misleading users of wikipedia, imho.

  Yachty4000 yes the fact that there is nothing to stop people moving stuff out of draft is not wildly known and many think it should not be allowed because many just move back unsourced drafts with no attempts to show notability, and then these go to AfD taking up more time. However for some editors they would rather go to AfD where they can argue the point rather than wait in draft for ages. Sports notability is an area that unless you are in the know about a sport it's difficult to judge what is notable, and thus it relies on interested parties putting forward recommendations. There is always disagreement and I don't get involved in such discussions, but if the community comes to a consensus then it help stops the "of course they are notable they won the....." or "they competed in ....". As for the uploads on our sister site commons not all have been deleted see c:Special:ListFiles/Mark_O'Keeffe and I see from File:James F. Burke With Admiration By Raymond Crisara Page 1.pdf that you have already found the OTRS is needed for some items. Copyright is taken very seriously here and on commons due to the legal ramifications for the project, and it can be very frustrating. In this case just because a photo is from a webpage you own does not mean you own the rights to the image to give freely for use here, but also once published elsewhere (unless very old and now public domain) OTRS would be required, as I guess you have already found. I would suggest rather than bundling all these issues together in one bug frustration, deal wit them separately and in the case of commons although we can link to any files directly it is a different project. Lastly do use the Wikipedia:Teahouse (link on your talk page) as you can ask questions and get the eyes and opinions of many experienced users and admins. Hope that helps explain things a bit. We feel that we are being unfairly discriminated against in the rejection of our Wikipeida entry. Our non-profit educational organization has been active for over 40 years, and has had a lot of press coverage before there even was a worldwide web. We have included several citations from external sources. Yet, I regularly see hundreds of existing entries that have ZERO and say This article does not cite any source. Hey, your revert just now with edit summary "unsourced" is a tad irritating. My edit added general introductory info, appropriate for an intro, no citations necessary or even allowable there, really. I hope you do not seriously doubt that many one-room schoolhouse buildings survive and are listed on historic registers and/or survive as museums. Have you never been to one (i dunno, is this a U.S. thing, and are you not a U.S. editor)? Someone not well-informed could question about two-room ones, I suppose, but your edit didn't narrow it down.   Draft:Two-room schoolhouse that is also unsourced and has been declined as such. Yes, I'm sure there were/are two, three, four,... room schools but it has to be significant and sourced. And yes I would also guess that many one-room schoolhouse buildings are on the historic register, but maybe only a small number survive - this is why we use sources - sometimes the facts match expectations, other-times they surprise us. Well, your not being from the U.S. explains a lot. I happen to focus mostly on U.S. National Register of Historic Places articles, including many one-room (and some two-room schoolhouses) in rural areas, especially, from pioneer days, that are preserved and many of which function as museums. And everywhere I have lived in the U.S. there are always historic one-room schoolhouses that way, even in long-settled New York State. I think it is actually a painful, boring, general growing-up-in-America experience, to have to go on a school trip to visit one of these. I would bet 20 percent to 50 percent of Americans have had to endure that! You may notice that Category:One-room schoolhouses is very American-centric, divides out by U.S. states ... I will try to update that so that it allows for possibility of examples from other countries.

About two-room ones, that is somewhat different, does require a bit of knowledge (allow me to claim that I have such, from experience with many two-room U.S. National Register articles). It is a "type", it is a "thing", like a

Rosenwald school is a thing, which I can recognize. Only just started with opening Category:Two-room schoolhouses

, which will have many members soon. (Yes, the Butler School category is arguable; it mentions starting as a two-room school but the article is not mainly about that, so if you care to remove that category I would not object).

About "we don't edit from personal experience", well, I do know and even like that Wikipedians discount self-professed "experts", but I do have knowledge (not especially expert, just basic really but beyond what layperson has in this area) that is beyond that. It would be fine actually for

to be in mainspace already, because it is so so obviously a legitimate thing, and articles don't actually have to have references. But it can wait, too.

I see you identify as British, jolly well for you you haven't had to suffer the pioneer schools.

Another British-vs.-US difference of understanding, by the way, is the significance of Masonic buildings...which in U.S. are typically major landmarks, very significant in their communities when they were built, but British editors can't/couldn't grok that. This was helpful exchange for me, that maybe my U.S.-based perspective of commonality of, of celebration of, one-roomers is narrower than I assumed. I don't particularly assume there would be notable stand-alone one-roomers in the U.K., it would seem possible that as more schools developed throughout the U.K. those could have been housed in existing public buildings or churches, or they were boarding schools as appear in David Copperfield novels, etc....at least I don't recall ever hearing of a one-room schoolhouse of the rural, pioneering type in the U.K. The one-room schoolhouse article alludes to one-roomers in more pioneering areas like Prussia and Norway. In the U.S., one-roomers were built with no provision for a teacher or any boarders to live anywhere; any teacher rounded up would be a local, like I think Laura Ingalls Wilder was, I think she taught school in her town. Or if they were hired from afar they would come by Wells Fargo stagecoach or by train and they would be set up to live with a local ranch family or similar; later-built schools which included a teacherage are not so clearly classified as "one-room schoolhouses" at all. A very simple one-room schoolhouse was something that the local farmers and townspeople could come together and put up, free of any connections to pre-existing institutions without complications; I don't particularly see that happening without any complications in the U.K.

Perhaps you noticed the U.S. vs. Norway academic-type article source added by me to the

one-room schoolhouse article. That is interesting to me in comparing fact of hundreds of U.S. National Register of Historic Places listed one-room schoolhouses, vs. zero in Norway's equivalent. And how expansion of schooling in Norway was more about imposition upon resistant, conservative farmers, than about being prideful cooperative creation by U.S. pioneers, and being a U.S. national icon (which I see that it is, i just didn't perceive how narrowly U.S.-based that may be). I found three Canadian one-roomers, and one Norway one, to put into Category:One-room schoolhouses so far, while it is looking to me that there will be 500 or more U.S. ones, when I finish revisiting all the articles on National Register-listed school buildings. (And this will be missing many non-NRHP-listed ones, which have been moved or altered too much or otherwise are not eligible for NRHP listing. But there are many of these, celebrated as local historical places, though few of them have articles in Wikipedia yet and maybe they are not Wikipedia-notable. Hard to guesstimate: another 500 or so?) The writer about Norway noted that while some one-roomers are preserved in open-air parks, it is with more an attitude of shame that we had such pathetic, non-modern things, while in the U.S. there is great pride in the humble/primitive starts which nonetheless were crucial in educating/building local and national greatness and all that. Maybe the dreaded tours of one-roomers I spoke of is really only a U.S. thing, not even a Canadian thing. I think in the UK other buildings including people homes were used as schools as they were for other purposes, such as pubs (public houses) really did start out as just someone serving beer in their house. I did do a search on the UK historic register of listed buildings this and although it has results many just have "one room" in the text rather than being just one room. Thanks. I can see the schools in England starting in homes, presumably of the more well-to-do. One U.S. example is

Prudence Crandall House

, regarded as a mansion, in Connecticut, where Prudence Crandall opened a girls' school (i think not a boarding school at first, I think serving locals in the town), then a black girl's admittance led to controversy and its closure, then it was reopened as a black girls' boarding school, causing more shameful actions. (And there you go with astonishing racism in America.) But in frontier areas, I think there were not any spacious houses of the well-to-do, there were not any unused/extra indoor spaces built, the homes of settlers were crowded and one couldn't school 10 or more students anywhere. And land is cheap (or many would be happy to donate land or allow it on their land), and much of the necessary building materials would be free if labor is applied to moving native stone or collecting logs or whatever, and people were more or less equals (just some pioneers maybe a few years ahead in getting established), so people could see their way to contribute time and throw up a simple one-room building to serve all. I project that in the U.K. there would not be available land or building materials or equality of people's time and interest that way. Theorizing informed by some knowledge of facts on the ground in some places I know, and upon lots of historical fiction, i suppose. I don't think we are far wrong, anyhow. End.

About the Greek letter fraternities and sororities at U.S. universities, it's also interesting to me that you are struck by them. I also find those somewhat weird, and myself avoided getting close to them in life...it was a significant factor for me in university selection to go where they weren't present or numerous. I gather they might be pretty much an American phenomenon. Not that significant in U.S., I would hope, certainly not celebrated widely, and relatively few listed on the U.S. NRHP when significant for their architecture (but not ever, or only rarely, to commemorate social development of the nation). The U.S. is proud that Abraham Lincoln got educated in a one-room schoolhouse (or at least I think that he did), but doesn't much care what secret societies or fraternities George Bush snr and George W. Bush belonged to. (Maybe they have had more effect than I know of, though. Hmm,

  independent. So we wouldn't count those that are interviews/mostly quotes as independent. Also the lombardibroadway.com stands out as just being a site root not mentioning Lea. Also the first few sentences are un-referenced, you can use the same source for multiple parts, and its generally good to use your best sources in the lead section as that helps clearly show notability (by best I mean one that is significant coverage of him, and independent). As for "still in limbo" I assume you mean still waiting for review.... yes unfortunately we appear to be getting more submissions a day and have less volunteer reviewers so the backlog is not just long ut growing - I've added some Wikiprojects to the talk page that may attract interested parties... but in general its just sit back and wait. You can create a your user page at User:Cathcam and just see Wikipedia:User pages for what is and is not allowed, so I would remove the external links as that would likely be seen as promotion unrelated to the project. Before I go ahead and try again, do you just mean the link in external links section or all the links? They were included to at least give a point of reference, I have a whole new section on awards for Creed Taylor, as well as a fairly major correction, that I was hoping to flush out on my page with others input before actually making the changes. So those links to ctproduced and discogs at least give others the chance to review some of the things I've already done in relation to Creed and his recordings.

  WP:UPGOOD section it should have "Limited autobiographical content". People often indicate their location, languages, interests, skills etc. Some (few) do have external links to websites, who they are on other collaboration platforms etc. but this would be balanced by content about activities on Wikipedia. There are no hard and fast rules but for accounts with few edist people are more likely think it's an attempt to write an unofficial article. I've seen people write a bio on a user page then post links other places such as twitter referring to it as an article. If people just follow a link they'll notice it's on en.wikipedia.org and the content and miss that it's a user page (i.e. it's just an extra User: in the url). However if you include things that make it look like an editors page more than a biography someone will be less likely to challenge. I'd suggest looking at others, and maybe add some Wikipedia:Userboxes to indicate your areas of interest etc. Also once you've done more editing people wont be looking for illicit use.   Draft:Gowran Grange Airfield was not submitted when created back in November 2019‎. Only 'submitted' drafts get reviewed. As it was not created through Wikipedia:Articles for creation it was missing the template with a submit button - so as a new user you weren't to know! It would have been nice if rather than flag for deletion after six months they had realised and submitted for you. I just edited in passing and have no particular interest in the topic. But don't worry as it is submitted now - it will be reviewed this time, allthough I'm not sure if a local private grass airfield is notable. I haven't read the new sources but the BBC is a reliable source if the content is significant, but you'll have to ask Amkgp about the second decline. However I would try to rephrase in a neutral encyclopedic tone, and use the sources inline using <ref> url </ref> (see Help:Referencing for beginners) to make it clear and more easily verifiable (I've done one example). There was also User:Primefac/AFCStats but most is not updated now. Dear Kyletastic: you recently denied my posting for Herbert Patterson User:Rob247/sandbox. You cited a lack of references from reliable sources, you suggested or inferred the individual was not important enough to merit their own page. My response is thus: Yes he is not a famous person. I watched a film with him in on one of the major pay for view providers, (which arguably puts him in front of many millions of other people too). I looked for more information and discovered Wikipedia had no information on him and i decided to remedy this situation. I dont think Wikipedia should not have a notability level? He is not well referenced? This is because he was a minor actor but no less important i would argue Than Steve McQueen etc. If you are going to delete it then go ahead - other than linking this page to his wife's page (also a minor actor who is on wikipedia???) i have nothing more i can reliably add for the reasons i have given, so this effort hardly seems worth it. Rather than delete my work, reflect as i have done and you consider what the concept of 'Famous enough' is for an encyclopedia that for the first time in human history covers all things for all people? None of the information i have added is inaccurate so may act to inform others - why should this harmless and possibly helpful page be deleted? Is this about the rules more than the service? May i also observe that if this page is posted it may encourage those who knew him better than i to provide the missing information - isnt that the point of all of this? Just be careful as it mostly gets things correct but sometimes goes bad: such as adding junk... usually to first and last fields; also some sites redirect to a login so you loose the actual target (such as instagram) so need manual fixup (or remove if not a valid source). To answer the question, yes it is fine to remove or archive most messages on your own talk page. There are some you shouldn't but I dont have a list, but they are the serious sort of admin messages such as if a user is blocked. So yes your free to keep your talk page tidy. • Hi StB yes a stupid typo - this pandemic has started to affect me this last couple of months... been making mistakes like that at work as well :/ As a general glance appears to pass Wikipedia:Notability (academics) but it's not really my area. The only comment from a quick look as it's late and I'm too tired for any serious contemplation is the lead section should have a reference. Statues such as being a professor, titulary professor, fellow and date of births should be sourced (can re-use another of the sources if they cover). But generally very much improved. I am just curious as I have seen similar pages with a paragraph and they are still up and seem to be a sufficient enough page to exist. Hope this message finds you well.

Well, you can guess my reason for being here. My draft was rejected. And it's confusing why it was.

According to the link put up for rejection and the criteria required to be included as part of the Music genre entry, Jazba the Band entry ticks off every requirement.

1) They have an album released.

2) They have been cited by international news agencies.

3) They have won awards.

4) They have been acknowledged by renowned journalists.

5) They have been number one for weeks for their various entries in their particular field.

The citations, references and acknowledgements are all contained within the Draft itself as External Links including leading news outlets like TRT World and newspapers such as Dawn including published authors.

Obviously it is a work in progress as it is and since it does require that I take some time out of my busy schedule, it will remain a work in progress for a long time to come. So apologies beforehand if I sound naïve or unknowledgeable, but I don't grasp the proper reason for rejection. Since as already stated it checks off every requirement needed for an entry into the cadre of musicians in Wikipedia the rejection remains a quandary.

If not too much bother at all, would you kindly explain what it is that this particular entry is lacking apart from being unfinished?

  WP:MUSICBIO does not include just releasing an album as notable. The patari.pk link is just a listing. The dawn.com link you've listed twice but is an OK source and if "...the most critically acclaimed political pop songs in Pakistani history" is true I would have thought other sources exist? and the trtworld.com sources is OK, but both of these last two sources are mostly about this one song rather than the band in general. The claim of the song and album being no 1 in the chart is notable, but it's currently unsourced. You say they have won awards but the article does not say, and not sourced. Also most of the information is unsourced. So its not that I'm saying they are not notable... but as the decline notice says the "... references do not show... " it at the moment. Very confused!

Jimfbleak I'm totally confused - I have never had more than one account, and I know no one uses my home IP for editing, I do edit from work sometime but I doubt anyone there does.. I can't even imagine what could have cause this? I don't edit in anyway that having a second account would help. looking at the other accounts blocked by Jim at the same time gives no clue apart from I declined two of the attempts to create an article about Craig Goodliffe see User talk:Gten0721 and User talk:Irbsnspices15. I obviously can't see the deleted articles, but I do formatting as such as I go though AfC submissions so I may have edited them in a minor way, but I also rejected them! • Hi Dusan Rajic where did you write to me, as I see no posts here (or in my Archives)? Note that if you write somewhere else without triggering a notification others are unlikely to notice (See Help:Notifications - but is short is means 'mentioning' a user and signing the edit). Each language Wikipedia has its own rules and guidelines, they tend to start with less to encourage editors then as they get larger add more rules to control content. English Wikipedia being the largest in content and in readership probably has the most strict rules. As for why it is taking so long that's unfortunately because there are more submissions than volunteer reviewers can handle and the system is very backlogged - See Category:AfC pending submissions by age for how many are waiting by age. I try to do a quick check of most submissions on day one to catch any quick issues so people don't have to 4 months to be told the obvious, but after than it can be a long wait. So in short you haven't done anything wrong it just hasn't been reviewed since you last submitted so sorry but it's just a case of waiting unless you can find a reviewer interested in the subject. • Hi, that tiny edit I made was just due to my investigating an issue that stopped drafts being categorised by age thus stuck. I did not actually look at the draft. The submission was at 2020-12-17 so it wont have been four months until the 17th, and there are already ~350 others that have already hit 4+ months. Unfortunately the system is super backlogged the same with many other parts of Wikipedia having both an increase in work and decrease in volunteers at this time - for some unknown reason(s). In this case also I have not seen any reviewer with an interest in a subject area that would cover this. The key thing is to make sure it passes

From my notice on your talk page (User talk:Bockpeterteuto) it looks like you wrote an introduction about yourself but then submitted it to Articles for creation as an encyclopedic article so I pointed you to Wikipedia:User pages.   WP:RSPSOURCES is considered "Generally unreliable" and the root sources usually exist 'somewhere'; Also addressing the categories tag would be good. After all the people who have to go via AfC/Draft saying "accept this junk" having someone who has taken time and thought on an article already in mainspace to ask for a secondary opinion is so refreshing, and although the article could do with some improvements the foundation is there and they do appear notable. It seems that not everyone is aware about the dates. The page - a really obvious 1. April tech joke - was marked as hoax and almost instantly deleted. And the support lines were pretty busy not answering, so the page was deleted before I could get any (not a decent, ANY) answer, how to modify it to preserve. • reliable sources. It is not discrimination as all new articles have the same standards applied. Any existing articles that were created before the current standards and do not meet them can be put up for deletion - See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Also I just declined it, I did not flag for deletion as I see no harm in letting it live in draft for a bit - someone else did and an admin agreed. Also you complain that you could not get ANY answer to preserve but you did... Liz kindly offered on you talk page to move it to your user-space to preserve it, and as an administrator she has the ability to recover it from deletion to your area. KylieTastic (talk

As a tech joke, starting such a joke article is pretty impossible if it's your idea. The Write-only memory (joke) was made by a company and they could have published a datasheet just by themselves. Not the same league! Example: the RFC 1149 standard. If the author(s) of such joke would like to publish such an article/standard/whatever by themselves, it would be rejected. But on behalf of a company... Sadly, since I'm an entrepreneur, "just try to do it other way" won't work and the wiki page would have been The Original. (also publising in a biology journal is out of question, it's a tech joke, not bio) Oh, and "moving it to user-space" is called help? Great... At least I have a backup. • HistorianOfChess firstly "Wikipedia editors and reviewers are not biased" as your "articles" were not rejected on personal whims but just by reviewing to the current guidelines. So yes you can say the guidelines are "biased" against subjects that are not "noted by the world" in general. This is the metric that Wikipedia has "decided" to use, and not all of us agree but that is how it is until someone/anyone puts forwards amendments that are then agreed by consensus. As a reviewer if I accepted Draft:Chess Club Live which is just one short line, backed only with one very non independent and non reliable source that points to the dead website http://www.chessclublive.com/ then I (or any other reviewer) would have there permissions revoked and the "article" would be deleted probably in minutes. If you wont a wiki that accepts anything try Everipedia, Fandom etc. I suggest if you think these websites in anyway notable that you go ask for help/advice at the project for chess Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Chess. I'd like to thank you for treating my genuine concern with respect and for the replies so far being very reasoned and clear. It's the problem that Wikipedia has is this perceived bias towards so-called notable websites is what keeps Wikipedia from growing. I know the two websites which you've rejected articles for are decades old and used by millions of people, they just not the right people for you (Wikipedia). They are black people who have not perhaps got the online influence of others that your guidelines stipulate you have to look to. I get that. It is why I don't yet donate to Wikipedia because you don't handle content fairly. The website of Chess Club Live has been live for many years (check Internet Archive) and is undergoing major work which is why it has been offline for a few weeks. The fact you drew a negative impression from that for that black owned website (it being black owned is not relevant to your decision, just to the niche nature of the content and audience and notability. I do understand, I'm not implying any personal bias on your part) was a dead website is typical of the corporate bias of Wikipedia editors and reviewers as a whole. I can list you several chess websites you have current articles for that are ACTUALLY dead, not being worked on like the one I tried to write an article for. Maybe you should get an independent look at the way you and your team make decisions and the biased expectations you have on the websites I wrote articles for. • HistorianOfChess thank you for recognising that I try to respond to all in good faith. Whenever I see accusations of bias, racism, sexism, etc the way I see it is that Wikipedia documents subjects have been noted by the world and it not biased in its own action, but the world has been (especially historical, but unfortunately also currently) racist, sexist and biased to vast sections of the world. Wikipedia is not in general itself biased, but just a reflection of the world and history that has huge issues. I have worked on many submissions for black reconstruction era US legislators that are deemed notable due to the office they held, but the lack of coverage in the old newspapers or just frankly disgusting front page racism makes them difficult to source. I don't know if your subjects are or are not notable enough for Wikipedia, all I will say is they need to have sources to indicate such or will be declined/deleted. With 5500+ outstanding submissions we don't unfortunately have time to research ourselves and so just have to review based on the sources provided. I find myself wondering why Wikipedia is not aiming higher than reflecting the distortions, injustices, prejudice, ignorance, discrimination that exists in society. I thought your mission was to "benefit readers by acting as a free widely accessible encyclopedia; a comprehensive written compendium that contains information on all branches of knowledge", how do you get there when you have a subjective measure like notability which you have to search to see if the "right people", think this or that is information is worth knowing and including in your "comprehensive written compendium". You do know the two things are incongruous. For instance, in the comprehensive capture of facts, there may be a large number of facts and things that are not meeting your subjective notable measure that is critical to your understanding of the history, workings, or process of something in your compendium. How do you trust a source that will not recognize each of these components? You can't trust a Wikipedia that will not trust its own data elements and references. I'm afraid you can't exclude something as irrelevant but allow it to be included in the narrative of other relevant (notable) things. I'll be frank with you, Wikipedia is a joke to many people and is seen as nothing but a vanity project by a certain type of online technician who sees the world in a certain way but wants the credit that comes from making it user-driven without actually letting it truly be user-driven. These online technicians are disingenuous but seem largely unaware of it as they set about cherry-picking facts from a distorted reality that they perceive and perpetuate. Wikipedia is driven by a priesthood of biased acolytes who have an echo chamber that insulates them from the truth that they are maintaining a self-perpetuating lie. The websites I tried to write articles for are not just websites, but living breathing communities, that cater to millions of chess fans and will continue to do so without the validation of biased Wikipedia editors and reviewers. Just as you made Encylopedia Britannica obsolete so you will become obsolete when people realize what you write is a narrative that is not based on hierarchies of competency and fact but hierarchies of power, corruption of truth, and lies. I think you might be one of the good ones who is trying to change from within but I don't think you can turn this ship around before it runs aground. It is why I will not ever be donating to Wikipedia or supporting your organization in any way until you become truly transparent about your decision-making processes, definition, mission, and purpose. There is a multiverse of Wikipedia Universes that are better than the one you have created and the chasm between the truth and fact and where you are now until you realize that erring on the caution of excluding things that meet your definition of inconsequential means you err constantly on excluding facts and truth and things consequential to capturing the comprehensive truth and context of domains of human knowledge and history. Wikipedia would be worth a donation to support it if it knew the irony of its own wicked existence as an irreverent irrelevance of the entitled who are desperate to write a narrative that validates their own shortcomings. If Wikipedia fails to improve and another site takes over then I welcome that, but I see that no time soon as so far all the attempts have been either way more biased/controlled, or so filled with spam, promotion and lies that they don't interest most people. In the end you can decide to help improve Wikipedia or not; you could join WikiProject Chess and discuss the issues and maybe improve things. However, if you believe as you state above then surely you have no interest in Wikipedia so go to the sites you think are better. For instance, I'm not on any social media because I see them as 90% junk, spam, hate, promotion etc that in total does more harm than good for mankind and I feel Wikipedia although much flawed does more good than bad. A good "trustworthy" encyclopedia must have guidelines/controls, Wikipedia is very far from prefect but I still view it as by far the best we currently have, and although so annoyingly difficult and slow to change, it does change and improve. In the end with all such sites choose which you feel are worth using, those which are worth contributing too, those that are worth trying to improve and then for all others just ignore. Whatever you decide to spend your time on, do that which brings you the most happiness/satisfaction - I hope you find what that is for you, and don't forget to enjoy a game of chess. • KylieTastic I agree with all of what you said apart from the fact I think you are part of the machine yourself and your definitions of what constitutes independent sources are what I refer to as the "right people" and therefore no matter how much you say it's not about getting validation from those "right people" and restate that it's the independent sources it just echoes my point further. The point is that Wikipedia is an echo chamber for a hierarchy of power and not competence. It has been corrupted as all hierarchies of power and not competence are. The verification of fact by volume of the independent sources is the worst verification strategy of a knowledge-based site you could ever have. It means if enough people repeat a lie the lie holds, isn't that just plain wrong. Think about what I've said deeply before you respond if you do, as this is not verbal tennis, I'm making points that can't be diminished by sophistry or managed away with platitudes or excuses about this is how Wikipedia works. Many corrupt institutions say they are victims of their own success and twisted principles but it doesn't make it okay. Wikipedia is not just a joke but the biggest echo chamber in the world and unlike all other echo chambers, it has another echo chamber inside the first echo chamber which keeps a narrative about how it keeps a narrative about everything else including itself. It's a self-fulfilling prophetic paradox of a website. Here's a glimpse of the future, people leave the site in droves when they realize it is a popularity contest for facts governed by the Wikipedia group that does serve anyone but itself. They look to decentralized personal wikis blocks which together form a chain of blocks called the wiki blockchain. Each block sustains the others and is validated by trust in the chain of knowledge. • Hi Alex Stratocaster sorry I'm not sure what you are asking? For an article about "Lee Harris" you need sources about him, not about the band (unless it is about his part in the band) to show he is notable. There are a lot of notable bands with articles where some or all of the members are not notable enough on there own to qualify for an article. When I submitted it the second time, the person agreed that since E series PGA 2K21 is directly affiliated with the PGA, winning a professional esports event in that way makes you notable per Wikipedia’s notability ruling. Also terms like "It is believed" do not sound encyclopedic and sounded like someone's opinion, and the source does not say that COVID "will have huge impact on the 2021 census data" which is an emotional statement, it just says it is deferred. If you remove or radically change content please use edit summaries so others can tell proper corrections from the endless mindless vandals we get, and I don't believe yoou are or was your intention. • Hi Hairykipper I said it needed better "sourcing" rather than sources. As I do not have access to any of those books so difficult to verify so a trust judgement is made and I have no reason to not accept the sources. However it's more that several sections indicate no source such as the lead section, the next section, most of the "The new observatory" section, the "Modern developments" section and the frankly confusing "New Structure" section. Also although the "List of holders of the chair" consists of a list that indirectly is referenced on each article but if a source for the list exists that would be helpful for the reader. Also the first link I get an invalid SSL certificate warning and then "403 forbidden", the second source says "We're sorry; the page you requested could not be found.". So I'm assuming the books exist and contain the source material but as currently stands difficult for anyone to verify. If books are used for such sourcing page numbers, at least indicative of sections, are normally expected as unless you have a digital version you would have to read the complete work to locate. See Help:Referencing for beginners and Help:References and page numbers. So just needs some work on the actual referencing and although not required if there are any extra online sources that would add to the article. Hope that makes some sense. Note that although it is not generally demanded sources are usually mostly referenced inline and for Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons it is mandatory for "All quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged". An article is more likely to be accepted if inline citations are used - see Wikipedia:Inline citation. You already have the <ref>...</ref>s defined so copying them to the end of the sentences/paragraphs they refer to should be hopefully easy (note you can use the same ref in multiple places. Aside from that to be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random, so it may or may not be myself who reviews it next. Also the backlog/wait is horrible but there are just not enough volunteers, with some major reviewers away dealing with Covid and others like myself just not having as much time for Wikipedia due to real-life issues. Hi there, thank you for your incredibly swift review. I'm sorry to hear it apparently does not meet the standards, but I am failing to understand why.

I am merely trying to add XIBLE to a fairly comprehensive list of Visual programming languages. While posting this article, I actually went through some of those programming languages there which, at least some of them, seem to have a similar setup. Take Node-RED for example. I do not quite understand what the problem here is with Draft:XIBLE, especially when I compare this draft with other Visual programming language articles.

• Hey Nobodyone6204 I think you may not understand Wikipedia classifications (although there are actually several sub-variants on a per project basis). Class C is considered very good and exceptional for a first time submission. I think I have only ever reviewed 1 or 2 B-class. B-Class is as high as we can go as after that you have to submit through formal procedures to get GA (Good Article) and or FA (featured article). Many very experienced editors and even admins still mostly write stub or start class. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Assessment for the definition for reviewed AfC submissions. From the latest version as I write this the automated machine learning tool we can use also still ranks it as a solid C here. The article still does not link to many other articles, it has no images, relies very much on a single source, and needs better categories - these are all things that can be hopefully improved. See Wikipedia:Content_assessment#Statistics to show how good a C is in relation to the other 7 million articles. Thanks for the information. I think you're right about me misunderstanding the Class system. To be honest with you, I got the impression C-class was very good when I read the notification about my article being accepted, but the grading scale must have caused me to interpret that it wasn't. I'm currently in the process of providing a photo of Emily once I can get the copyright issues resolved with the image owner, and I'd also like to create an infobox for her (I hope that's the right term :) ). Some of these blatant self-promotional drafts contain a significant amount or personal information that really is better deleted if the article subject has zero chance of having an article in mainspace. It is insulting to suggest that a subject who has written nine monographs is "someone who has written things". Researching, writing and publishing nine sole-authored books on technical subjects is in itself notable. You try doing it! Furthermore, anything can be reduced like this. For instance, one could say that Charles Darwin was the ponderous son of a preacher that saw a few plants on the Galapagos islands and wrote a book on it. If he was alive today and submitted for Wikipedia and you or some of your Colleagues reviewed his entry there, it would be declined. Hey Kylie! I got a note that a submission was declined for a lack of significant coverage resources. I researched the issue pretty well and feel like I put a fair array of sources on there; however, I am going to research and find more, as the location was pivotal in a Civil War battle, which is fairly significant here in Tennessee (the battlefield happens to be the largest revenue generator for the county-- I'll make sure to add that too).

I hope to have it updated. In the meantime, any other advice would be appreciated. I do believe that this club is significant in this county and worthy of a page, so I will work to substantiate that. Great work on all the judge pages! I'm a lawyer and I love seeing legal history preserved.

• Hey FloridaArmy I've spent quite a while searching mostly out of frustration and found nothing conclusive. It is not helped by there being a clerk Chappell in the papers a lot around 1868 (different initials). As this says he was "State Senator elect" I expected to find the normal votes etc, but found nothing. The is a mention of a Mr Chappell and Judge Chappell at the convention could be the same person but un-clear. this suggests that a Judge Chappel from the convention ran away from the country - if it is was the same person maybe they were senator elect, then run away before taking office? Unfortunately newspapers.com only has 9 pages for the Macon, Beacon in 1868 that is reported as origin for the story. There are also mentions of carpetbagging including a Chappell so maybe that was the issue - see this. Also issue that Noxubee had 300 more votes than registered voters! I also had a quick look via JStor and found nothing. I'm still waiting for my newspaperarchive.com access to be renewed and I'll have a quick check when it is, but this looking like one lost to history or at least hiden deep in book and records. On notability, I thought that people reading about Denis Law might want to know about his charitable works and if they were interested they could follow the external link to the charity's web page.

What kind of references are necessary in this case?

I haven't been around for long but I've noticed editors seem to be on different sides of the fence on a lot of things here, especially when it comes to establishing notability. I've learned this (sometimes the hard way) at AfDs. I'm currently of the opinion that the insane backlog and shortage of AfC reviewers don't allow us the luxury of being overly picky and pedantic with every little detail during AfC review. Is the subject definitely notable per a high citation index but the majority of the page reads like an eye sore? Remove the eye soar and accept, even if it means accepting a stub. I've seen far too many pages on AfC getting declined and re-reviewed by five different editors (hence wasting time that could be used to review other pages) when the disputed content could be simply removed, the page accepted and the content re-added at a later point by the original author or someone else. I do understand your reservations as far as BLPs are considered, in my case I'm always hesitant to apply my lenient approach to anything connected to business or performing arts. Can you give me a detailed explanation on why the article was rejected?. If we were to compare the article to other pages of musicians, the biography and context which was used is acceptable and legitimate. Heiress has her bio on various music platforms such as Spotify, Youtube Music and other social media websites. Heiress is exceptionally talented which is why she has received appraisals from individuals well known in the Music Industry. Clive Davis, Quincy Jones, Steve Dorff, Tod Deeley from Sony Music Australia and Record Labels such as Tuff Gong Recordings who were mentioned in the article have written to Heiress and spoken to her on multiple occasions. She has written proof that these statements used in the Article are valid. For example would you publicly publish a written letter from Sony Music Australia on Social Media along with all the contact info in that letter so people could misuse? no. Another example, would you publish emails and personal phone calls of Quincy Jones and Clive Davis to Social Media? no. Now what would be an alternative to publishing these statements without placing the information of these individuals in risk? that would be quoting what they said on a website correct?. She has many references on social media such as The Dublin Castle in Camden which have complimented her calibre of talent. The article also had Jo Wood who is the ex wife of Ronnie Wood sitting next to her and taking photos at The Tramp in Mayfair which is an exclusive private venue. Yesterday Heiress even told me that Steve Abbott who is a well known Manager and A&R told her that "The only person who could give me goosebumps with that kind of powerful voice was Aretha Franklin and you" and she has this in text? now tell me how is she suppose to publish this?. I don't appreciate you deleting the article so swiftly when all the information i wrote took me 6 hours to write.

Again, please give me a detailed explanation and advice on how to publish this article as i truly believe she is acceptable to be on Wikipedia.

• Hi Sanahassan88 it's not about the number, but the quality. Two very in-depth reviews from very reliable sources could be enough, but usually people want 3 good sources. As for the other draft, you have asked the reviewer... give them a chance to reply. We are all volunteers, with real life work, responsibility and the need to sleep, and looking at there editing I would think they are now asleep as they rarely edit between 19:00 and 03:00 UTC. • Hi RDBACE1 it was just a minor edit in passing, I try to do a pass of all new submissions to look for vandalism, abuse, copyright violations, easy declines/accepts and I also do any format tweaks etc to make them ready for any accept. However I do not have time to do that and read all the content and sources. Someone will do a full review in time - there is a huge backlog but we have got it down by ~1000 in the last month so things are looking slightly better. Yes I did a couple of passing edits afterwards but I did not review again - so no I have not stated that I "still think the sources are unreliable". Note that each language Wikipedia has there own polices and guidelines so just because it exists on another does not mean it meets English Wikipedia standards. If a Norwegian version exists it's not linked in Wikidata Q12643789 only the Croatian and Serbo-Croatian are. If the other versions have more sources then they would good to add, also the Serbo-Croatian has some images hosted on commons that can be used here. To be fair to all submitters I don't review/re-review on request, I just pick new and old submissions at random, however in general I would think the subject looks notable, and it's certainly worth adding any other sources and wait for the next review. • Hi Osvaldo2007 yes many people do get blocked from editing Wikipedia but apart from extreme cases users are warned 1-4 times before a block. However this would be for behaviour such as vandalism, repeated unexplained removal of content, advertising, using multiple accounts, etc.... so for most editors who are here to build an encyclopedia and acting in good faith there is no worry about being blocked. • WP:GEOLAND "Populated, legally recognized places are typically presumed to be notable, even if their population is very low", so as a start you need sources to show it exists and is populated (such as the Indian census data, government records). Also for a start many places have the same name so we need coordinates to show which subject we are talking about.
