  Is each set of templates really all that different? I've seen many different batches, but I'm not sure how contextually different each set is.

  As for broader groups of train editors, I guess my question here would be how often these templates are placed on new articles.

  But eh, I guess the TfDs are probably gradual enough; my concern was train nominations taking over TfD, but I don't think we've quite arrived at that point.

... The Rambling Man's mode of conduct undercuts whatever usefulness he contributes in project space ... well shucks, but clearly that's not the case. I just don't suffer fools gladly, like the some of the rest of the people here who appear to have taken over the asylum. I'll gladly withdraw my dozen or so FAs, 100+ FLs, around 200 GAs etc, and the 1800+ errors I've picked up on the main page in the last ten months alone. Is there a form for that? Hi. You deleted my article in process of markup on Gremory Kramer on the basis of paragraph A7. This is not understandable, if you read the history of the person, as amplified in the second half of the article. He is THE seminal and historically most important figure it the field of data sonification (c.f) an Auditory Display (c.f.) He is responsible for the formation of ICAD (c.f.) and remains an emeritus member of its Board, which, amongst other things, has run 20 annual international conferences on the now generally considered crucial field for the discovery of gravity waves etc. As the entry says, he published the first book in the field, and is the most heavily referenced author in it. I do not believe your deletion is warranted without further justification. Please Undelete. PS. How do I even get access to it at this stage? • @Yergnaws: Good morning. There were a few issues with Gregory Kramer. The first was that most of the content was apparently copied from [1], in violation of Wikipedia:Copyrights. The remaining part of the article was sourced entirely to his own writings, and it read like a blurb. It might be a good idea to start with a draft for this article before re-creating it in the article namespace. I would be willing to supply the non-copyright violating text as a basis. Further, I would be pleased if you could explain how the measure you took to unceremoniously delete the entry - apparently in a way in which I cannot recover any of it - is in the spirit of Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion and/or biographical pages, bearing in mind I am an occasional contributor with good intent. IMO, the polite professional approach should have been to engage with me and perhaps advise me to mark the entry as Draft, or some other such process. In any event, the irony of the Subject providing me with text he wrote on which to base my initial sketch, which, unbeknown to him, he seems to no longer holds copyright on does not pass unnoticed. It seems the only way forward is to write a more extensive article in which the small piece of factual information I have used is eclipsed by a bigger picture. I will proceed as you suggest. Do you have a preferred timetable for NWP stations? It seems like a shame to only have the 1956 timetable for the Redwood - I think it dropped a number of stations (including Windsor) just a few years before. It's additionally confusing because (unlike the Eastern and Midwest roads I'm used to), the NWP never had much of an effect on the location of population centers. • @Cards84664: Yikes. The numbers are a challenge. My inclination is to say that the numbers shouldn't be displayed in succession boxes, and that it's enough to display them in the station header. In the alternative, the {{adjacent stations}} note-left and note-right parameters do accept templates as input (e.g. {{JRSN|JS|19|tlc=SBY|size=20}}) and display it correctly.   • We'll be better off by keeping the numbers, as there are quite a few cases of named trains jumping from line to line (icons distinguished by color), and even some cases of jumping from company to company (icons distinguished by shape). Two examples of the latter are Hadano Station (Romancecar) and Ikebukuro Station (S-Train). The icons are designed to be distinct from one another's companies to prevent further confusion. The disruptive edits pushing the non-encyclopedic term "Higher Speed Rail" need to end. This is a long running debate & it's well accepted and known that High Speed Rail ( HSR ) is not only valid but the term to use in the contect of Wikipedia. If you're writing a PhD thesis for some civil engineering stuff, knock yourself out with the pedantic "Higher Speed Rail". Outside of specialized subjects it's not appropriate.

I am not so certain. That might be so if it was a "snippet" preview, but I'd be inclined to say otherwise on a website that is a repository of a bunch of full scanned PDFs of manuals. One of those pages contained full scan of a journal, which offers no preview on Google Books. If it wasn't of copyright issues, Google would be making the whole thing viewable. I don't believe "not being available anymore publicly" makes a case for posting copies online under fair use. Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

Here's a rather unique situation: Shinjuku-sanchōme Station serves the S-Train, a named train that operates continuously between the Tokyo Metro and other commuter rail companies. The operators switch out at their respective transfer points, so I was wondering if there's a way with Template:Adjacent stations to display a line from one company (Seibu) underneath another company's title bar (Metro). (Below is an example in s-line)

Hi Mackensen, I appreciate your work concerning the Swiss transport system. I also perceived you thoroughly take usage of the Module:Adjacent station. There you use sometimes an English translation for stop names, such as Lucerne. I however would propose to use the official name (here: Luzern) for any stop name, since they are used like proper names (never translated); not necessarily for the station's name ("Lucerne railway station"), since these are two different things, though very closely related. However, the stop name on any official timetable will always stay the same, in whichever language region you are. Indeed helpful for any public transport user. See also Luzern Allmend/Messe railway station, where the English name was not used. I'd like to dig into the relevant guidelines before offering a view. I have overhauled the module, replacing sporadic former services with branches and former branches. I have kept your reversal of the Congress branch intact, but I will be keeping branch names away from current services. They are redundant to the line parameter of the station infoboxes (save Ashland, Cermak, East 63rd). Pre-1993 branches that have not changed significantly over their service-operating history will also display current colors.
