Orphaned non-free media (File:Henry Gibson.jpg)
Thanks for uploading
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 15:32, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
WikiCup 2013 September newsletter
In 30 days, we will know the identity of our 2013 WikiCup champion. Cwmhiraeth (submissions) currently leads; if that lead is held, she will become the first person to have won the WikiCup twice. Sasata (submissions), Hawkeye7 (submissions)—who has never participated in the competition before—and Casliber (submissions) follow. The majority of points in this round have come from a mix of good articles and bonus points. This final round is seeing contributions to a number of highly important topics; recent submissions include Phoenix (constellation) (FA by Casliber), Ernest Lawrence (GA by Hawkeye7), Pinniped, and red fox (both GAs by Sasata).

Disambiguation link notification for October 4
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Senate Conservatives Fund, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Mike Lee, Joe Miller and Ron Johnson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to List of female Nobel laureates may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Was hoping someone would get to Ingeborg!
Thanks much for all your contributions to yesterday's Ada Lovelace Day edit-a-thon at Brown. I'm currently compiling contributions that ppl forgot to log, and was floored that no one did Ingeborg Hochmair after the many times that I mentioned her in press interviews leading up to yesterday! Anyhoo...glad to see she's about to have a proper page. Thanks again :) Girona7 (talk) 05:08, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for organizing it! Yes, Ingeborg and Anny Cazenave were mentioned in multiple media sources and strike me as priorities. I've been compiling a list of the created articles at the Ada edit-a-thons to see which ones can be submitted to DYK. I'll try to post the list somewhere soon. I hope the Brown event went well. Gobōnobō + c 05:24, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
- Great idea. I'm still compiling a list of all edits beyond what was self-reported on our event page. Have the in-person edits and additions finished but not the remote contributions yet. Maybe post your findings about DYK candidates on the ) 06:07, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
- @Girona7: I finally posted the list of Ada Lovelace Day DYK potentials over at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Women scientists. Do you mind if I post welcome/thank you messages on the talk pages of edit-a-thon participants? Gobōnobō + c 14:58, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
- @Gobonobo: FYI, I reached out last night to some folks in Germany (I think) who have a CC pic of Hochmair on Flickr asking if they'd update the license so we could use it. Long shot, but worth a try. Anyway, go for it on the thanking...I went through and thanked everyone using the "thank" tag for individual edits since I went through those anyway, but I didn't also add to folks' talk pages. BTW, I'm about to post a recap blog mentioning a few Wiki folks, and I'd love to include you. If you're comfortable with me posting your real name, shoot me an email at maiaw |@| nasw.org with that info. If not, I'll use your username. Thx! Girona7 (talk) 15:17, 20 October 2013 (UTC)

Redirect
This edit puzzled me,. I do not know C.R. Avery, but that person appears to be a member of a folk band (See Barbara Adler)
I've removed the redirect, please let me know if I am missing something.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 14:55, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
- @Sphilbrick: I've not a mop, so I can't see the history there, but if I remember correctly, I had that redirect pointing to Tons of Fun University, a spoken word trio of which he is a member. Seeing as he was also a member of The Fugitives (spoken word), it might be best to leave it as a red link for now. I hope that clears it up. Gobōnobō + c 18:32, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry, I should have explained, it was a redirect to Jane Cowl. I'm fine leaving it as a red link.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 18:37, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
