Nepenthes kampotiana is a tropical
specific epithet kampotiana refers to the Cambodian city of Kampot, close to which the first specimens of this species were collected.[3]
This species is closely related to heterotypic synonym of N. kampotiana.[3]
In his Carnivorous Plant Database, taxonomist
heterotypic synonym of N. smilesii.[2]
