it was not peacocking dammit, you've removed useful infos regarding update of the imported version. :/ Cliché Online (talk) 18:54, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The only thing in that blog post was the confirmation of a new car, Ferrari F2007. You're stretching out a small tidbit (albeit "important") of information into more than it is. Also, In response to the growing buzz appearing on popular video game blogs around the globe is definitely a form of "peacocking" as there doesn't seem to be some sort of "huge buzz" from blogs around the globe.
Also this quote, "Sometimes even the best kept secrets seem to find their way out - that's just the nature of the beast - so it was no surprise (at least not much) when co-workers started to email us links to leaked Gran Turismo 5 Prologue screenshots… and the rumor mill it had kick-started." is not something that really needs quoting. Strongsauce (talk) 19:02, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
no buzz? where were you last week? checked kotaku? ps3news? ign? gamekult (france)? these are huge.
the quote is a confirmation of the buzz's importance i think. anyway what about removing the info about updating the jap version? this is the most important part. Cliché Online (talk) 19:09, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Can you give me actual pages regarding the fact that the Ferrari F2007 information was "leaked?" No page on Kotaku mentions this, with only this article mentioning that GT5 features will be later "patched" in. What are you referring to when you say, "buzz?" buzz about the game? Strongsauce (talk) 19:18, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
i'll give you the links, you want me to waste my time now. what about threespeech? i gave the link for this one Cliché Online (talk) 19:24, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
i think the section on famitsu (episodic content) has no source at all and is too much extended what about cutting lines in there instead? Cliché Online (talk) 19:11, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
it is not that the section you added in was too long, there was just more in that section than in the actual articles linked to. Strongsauce (talk) 19:18, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
phrase like "North American users will get the chance to race new cars" are not supposed to be on wikipedia. this is peacocking.
can't you read japanese? citroen, ford GT etc. are mentioned on the jap screenshots published by threespeech, this was meant to tell: hey lads the jap game will receive a car update. "update" is the most important part in the leak section, now it does not appear anymore, reading this no one will know updates are scheduled. Cliché Online (talk) 19:24, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No I can't read Japanese. This link that you used as your source provides screenshots of the Ferrari F1. I don't see how posted screenshots will tell fans, "hey these cars are coming in update X" Strongsauce (talk) 19:32, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
i've answered on the article's talk. Cliché Online (talk) 19:54, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GT5P

there are no photo stage, no~r photo thing in GT5P, this is simply My Page interface. locked content compares with the jap demo, previously locked contents on the jap version were available on the sema version. Cliché Online (talk) 02:00, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you rephrase what you just said in complete sentences? I cannot understand any of that shorthand at all. Strongsauce (talk) 02:08, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
i'm removing these infos from the article anyway because they are not important by now. Cliché Online (talk) 02:16, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings. As you no doubt have noticed, a user by the name of Wageslave has recently been maliciously editing PlayStation, Nintendo, and Apple related articles on Wikipedia. I have almost had enough of this behaviour, and if it continues I will not hesitate to initiate an

RFC about him. Here
, I have compiled a short report on his POV edits since he joined. This report will be used as a basis for a future RFC, should he continue his behaviour - though I hope the very existence of this draft convinces him to stop. If you have anything to add to the draft, do not hesitate to add it. Thank you.

ESRB

Hello! I'm aware "Rating Pending" is a rating used by the ESRB, but many articles include it, even if the game has not finished development. If RP is included under ESRB, why not TBA under every other ratings board? RP doesn't contribute much to the article, especially in the form it's currently used - like you say, it's not really worth including just for ratings sake. If all instances of RP were ref'd with a source saying the game had been submitted for rating, that might be ok. Thanks!

I think I'll stick the word "proper" into my "rating pending is not a rating" spiel, bit more accurate then =)

Daniel Negreanu

In the interview from the YouTube link ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cu5rCrK3OBY ) he talks about his parents life in Romania and his past. Daniel says he is romanian. It's an essential reference where I added it (after 'Daniel Negreanu's parents, Annie and Constantin, moved from Romania to Canada in 1967'). No reason to remove it. Also, the fact that it's in romanian language proves the article's point, that he was born in Canada but he's basically romanian. Also, it's not a copyright violation since I uploaded that video. And I can assure you it's unique on all YouTube, no one else could have uploaded that, I edited it from a longer interview and made it to fit 10 mins so it can be uploaded on YouTube. Since it's my video and I grant permission to anyone to use it in any way they like, it's not a copyright violation. And the romanian language just proves the fact that Daniel's romanian, knowing the language etc, which sustains the article's point. But that's a secondary thing. What matters is the copyright, and I own the video. So I really think you should add it back, because it's an important reference. Visibilia (talk) 10:12, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Centurion Page

Hi Strongtalk,

First off, I do not see what the problem is. I do not believe the link violates any of the rules. It is a useful site that is used by members of the Flyertalk community, which is one of the most used forums for Centurion information. It contains useful and up to date information and has the only accurate comparison guides around for high end credit cards and AMEX cards. All information is right from AMEX and other benefit books of other credit cards.

However, you have a reference such as amex-black.com which does not provide information about the card except for who has it. I believe that the comparison site is much more of a reference than this and a lot of your other references. So is the geocities centurion site. I think that the centurion page definately needs to be modified. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Centurion101 (talkcontribs) 14:59, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It has been a few days and yet you have not responded to my post. However you have removed my link once again. Not only that, but you allow MSITE's comparison which just comapres centurion cards from all around the world, and is not a complete comparison. Yet you do not allow a site that has a very useful comparison... I would appreciate a response.

Centurion101 (talk) 15:26, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Look you need to stop readding it in if you're really asking me about why I removed your links. The fact that you posted a message on my talk page and have promptly readded your site in twice, I assume that you are just ignoring why I have removed your link. I assume you are talking about the link added as M-Site CENTURION COMPARISON on the page which I indeed did remove from the site from this edit here but Wikipedia seems to have readded the link when I removed your link. Regardless just because one thing that is not allowed on a Wikipedia article is in it does not make it okay for you to put your inappropriate link into the site as well. Your site has information that is unverifiable and in particular is a link that should be avoided per
WP:LINKSTOAVOID. So please stop linkspamming your site into that Wikipedia article. Strongsauce (talk) 17:08, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply
]

First of all, it is not my site. However, I do know the person who owns the site, and all the information comes DIRECTLY from the Password Protected Centurion Site, the AMEX Platinum site, the rewards gold site. The site does not violate any of wikipedias rules. I am not only talking about the MSITE but also the amex-black site, which has a lot more unverifiable information then both MSITE and the googlepages site. You did not do any homework here. If you looked at the americanexpress.com/platinum page you would see where the information comes from.

The reason I added the site back is after several days you had not responded to me, I added it back, and you removed it again without a response to me. I suggest you go through all the references and links as, there are some very questionable sources in there, and you are removing the ones that actually are useful, such as MSITE, Life of Luxury, and flyertalk (unfortunately you cant really verify flyertalk and that might be against wiki rules). So I ask you to do your homework. If you want I can get Jblackbelt to send you the info on the chairman card and his source for the centurion card. You can look at the platinum and rewards gold site and verify the site yourself. However, I suggest you verify other sites as well. If your not willing to do that then tell me who can.

I have a serious problem with the fact that your not letting a legitiment site on the links but you are letting others that are just a blog about the card on there.

Centurion101 (talk) 17:21, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to Wikipedia are timestamped so it is pretty easy to see you readded the link back multiple times before you posted the first time on my talk page. Here is the edit where I removed your link at 15:21 on April 27th, you readd your link back in the next day at 13:08 on April 28th which was promptly removed by XLinkBot in this edit. You then readd the link again 2 minutes later, here and user Beetstra reverts your edits once again. So finally after trying to readd the link back 2 more times you FINALLY post on my page. Your site is not a legitimate site, the infromation that you are posting comes from behind a password protected so it either violates copyright rules or cannot be added because the data in unverifiable. If you have a problem or feel that your site is not spam start a discussion. If you feel other links in the article is spam or should not be there, you can remove those as well. Regarding those other links, Inclusion of one spam link is not a reason to include another. Strongsauce (talk) 17:50, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also please point out to me what rules on the links to avoid page this site breaks. As again I look through it, and it does not break any of them. Centurion101 (talk) 17:27, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That password protected page, which you have as a link on the wikipedia centurion card page, is where most of the information from centurion comes from. You can ask anyone with a centurion card to verify that information on that page. A friend of mine has the benefits book for the card. I'd be happy to get that and scan it in. Meanwhile, all the others can be verified. I have a pdf for the chairman card that Jblackbelt gave me, and the platinum can be seen at americanexpress.com/platinum

Please point me in the right direction on where to start a discussion about my site. I also would like to ask how amex-black.com is a "verified" source as that information is posted as a blog by a person, and has no verification at all. I'd be happy to start a discussion on this as well if you would be so kind as to show me there. I have tried to remove those but references apparently cannot be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Centurion101 (talkcontribs) 20:40, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I seriously question Strongsauce's motivations for his edits

This morning, I made the following revision to the Jamie Gold article: "Jamie Gold will be hosting the Celebrity Poker Tournament at the Playboy Mansion on May 18, 2008. This event will benefit the Urban Health Institute."

Strongsauce promptly deleted my revision, with the following reason: "sounds like an advertisement.".

It is interesting that Strongsauce's talk page contains a dozen other complaints about the "undo's" that Strongsauce has made in the past 6 weeks (since March 17, 2008).

When I see Jamie Gold at the charity tournament in two weeks, I will be sure to tell him that a Wikipedia "policeman" did not find Jamie's contribution to this charity event to be relevant to the Jamie Gold article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ArmyMajor (talkcontribs) 20:15, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

sports agent

I find it interesting that you think you should determine who should or should not be listed in the ice hockey section under sports agent. There was no "spamming" as you stated in your note to me. There was no promotion of a service. The fact is that the people listed are legitimate Hockey Only Agents and not only should they be listed, but they deserve to be listed. It is a discriminatory practice you are engaged in and as Wikipedia is a non-profit 501c3 such practices can place that tax status at risk. The page will again be edited to provide more agent information from more than one company. This is more than fair. Should you wish to discuss this further please feel free to e-mail me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stick2700 (talkcontribs) 20:09, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't get it, are you saying you were not consistently spamming your company and then now are threatening to take away Wikipedia tax status? Strongsauce (talk) 23:47, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also here are your edits where you spam your company website. [2][3][4]. Just because you are a ice hockey agency does not mean you "deserve" to be listed on Wikipedia. Strongsauce (talk) 23:53, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There was no threat, merely a statement of fact that your edits seem to be those of a person with a vested interest in keeping truthful information from the public. In any event when I get more time I will re-edit the page with information about Agents from multiple companies and I believe that should resolve the issue. If you object to this feel free to e-mail me. Stick2700 (talk) 16:41, 26 May 2008 (UTC)Stick2700[reply]

I don't belong to any hockey team nor do I belong to any agency. Seems that you are the one with a vested interest. As I have pointed out you or whatever IP that is has attempted several times to spam that hockey agency. Just because you are a hockey agent/agency does not mean you are necessarily notable. The fact that you try to spam Wikipedia makes me think you are not on the up and up.

Gran Turismo (PSP) / WP:OVERLINK

Just wanted to clear up that Gran Turismo 4 was previously linked in the details section. --Teancum (talk) 17:29, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think it would better fit that all Gran Turismo 4 is actually linked there since a reader may want to click on all those links to see those games. Linking it so far away makes it difficult for a reader to track said link. Per
WP:OVERLINK#Link_density, "If a later occurrence of a link is separated by a long way from the first. Avoiding duplicate links in the same section of an article is generally a safe rule of thumb." I think it'd be more appropriate to link it where the other games are mentioned. Strongsauce (talk) 17:33, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply

Dead Space II date

"the date is in there. please stop removing it." doesn't really help to explain where the date is, all I can see is "Q1 2011". The burden is on you to not only provide a source but make sure it is verifiable. Rehevkor 23:50, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is no burden of proof on me, it is on the page. Search "January" and you'll find it. It's also easily verifiable by searching for Dead Space 2 release date on Google. Also please see Wikipedia:Verifiability#Tagging_a_sentence.2C_section.2C_or_article regarding removal of information. Since Dead Space 2 isn't a biography, its preferable to use the cn tag rather than remove the information outright unless it is vandalism/speculation. Strongsauce (talk) 23:54, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This is not to say that any uncited source should be left in, just that at the time there was nothing to cite other than the conference, by the time the initial revert came in any search about the release date could have been cited rather than just getting it removed. "The burden of evidence lies with the editor who adds or restores material" (seeing as you cited WP:VAR above I would have thought you would have already read this.) So yeah, the burden is yours. I have not only read the source provided I searched before I even removed it, common sense dictates I had already done as such, I can find nothing to verify your claims. So I am asking this directly, where in the source you provided does it state the release date? Rehevkor 00:28, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply
]
Oh, and tagging is optional. Video game release dates are often based on dates on pre orders, which are unreliable - so it's best to remove them until a concrete source is. Sorry, but that's how I roll. Rehevkor 00:33, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not

autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages
.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious

Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here
.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:37, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
