Prokupac is the 9th most planted grape in terms of commercial plantations' area. It is most planted in the Three Moravas,

Toplica, and Leskovac wine regions.[2]

The reasons why Prokupac is widespread grape in Serbia include:[3]

  • resistance to low temperatures
  • not requiring much care
  • giving abundant harvest even on
    skeletal soil
    and
  • having high sugar content
