Pińczyce [piɲˈt͡ʂɨt͡sɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Koziegłowy, within Myszków County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) south-east of Koziegłowy, 6 km (4 mi) south-west of Myszków, and 38 km (24 mi) north-east of the regional capital Katowice.

History

During the German invasion of Poland which started World War II, on September 3, 1939, German troops carried out a massacre of 20 Poles (see Nazi crimes against the Polish nation).[2]
