Every visitor to the Annapoorneshwari Temple at Horanadu, irrespective of their religion, language, caste, or creed, is provided with a three-course vegetarian meal (including a dessert made from lentils). Male visitors to the temple have to remove their shirts and innerwear and preferably cover their shoulders with a towel or a shawl, as a symbol of respect and humility in front of the goddess. It is believed that Lord Shiva once had a curse and that this curse was reversed when he visited Goddess Annapoorna and sought her blessings.
Mahamangalarati prayer will be offered every day at 9:00 am, 1:30 pm, and at 9:00 pm. Kunkumarchana pooja starts every day at 11:00 am and at 7:00 pm.[5]
