Cerro de los Chenques is a
granitic formations.[4]
The volcano is source of
It is considered part of the Patagonian
backarc volcanism. Such volcanics take the form of large volcanic plateaus.[2] These volcanic are noted for their xenoliths which have been used to infer the composition of the mantle.[5]
