Town in ancient Troad
For the town of ancient Thessaly, see Larissa Cremaste. For the region of Turkey formerly called Cremaste, see Mustafakemalpaşa.
Cremaste or Kremaste (
Abydeni."[2] Strabo mentions the gold mines of Astyra which town is nearby. Gold mines belonging to Lampsacus are mentioned by Pliny the Elder[3] and by Polyaenus;[4]
and they may be the same as those of Cremaste, as the town was generally between Abydus and Lampsacus.
Its site is located near Sarıbeyle, Asiatic Turkey.[1][5]
