I think Nikkimaria is my opponent. She obviously has no interest in constructive cooperation and tries everything to prevent or minimise contributions from me to the article.

I always make a point of cleaning up after any move I make that leaves links pointing to a DAB, but in this case my mother called just as I was getting started. I returned to the computer to see you'd already gotten most, which was a pleasant surprise. :) FYI, {{disambiguation needed}} is a useful template for situations like those encountered at Michel Maffesoli and Archivio di Nuova Scrittura, since often someone more familiar with the article will recognize the correct referent. But just unlinking is reasonable too, especially in lists of links where the unlinkèdness sticks out pretty clearly. The opera was great, especially in growing silence. - RMF math (as noticed today when booking for a friend): in the basilica of Eberbach there are few cheap tickets with a bit of view, which are preferable to those in the back because of the acoustics of the hall. Bach, one of two serving as his audition pieces for the post of Thomaskantor in Leipzig for which he became known. He had to show off, being not a favourite (Telemann and Grauper were) and the only candidate without university training. You may have met his more youthful BWV 172 before. Go ahead, just wait when an answer takes time. Hi Gerda, hope all's well. I was just wondering if you might be able to do me a favour. I am writing an article about a English journalist Charles Norris-Newman who had an interesting career in military and intelligence circles as well as various legal troubles. Later in life he became a stamp collector and trader. I've found this German newspaper article that seems to concern a dispute over a stamp album but am struggling to work out what it says (I only studied German a very little at school and that was a long time ago!). Would you possibly be able to give me the gist of it? The old style text is hard for me to read but in case the link above is no good I think it goes something like:

Do you take photo requests?
I see you are quite the photographer. I am looking for someone to visit the Museum Folkwang in Essen, and take a photo of Lise with a Parasol in situ from about 2-4 meters away, from the angle of a patron visiting the museum and looking at the painting in the gallery from the side. I realize this is an unusual request, but if you are ever in that area and you have your camera, maybe you could help. I want to use this photo in the article about the painting in a section about the museum. It doesn’t matter if there are people in the frame or not (depending on German image capture rules, of course). Ignore this request if it is impossible. Thanks. I am pursuing an approach with Lise with a Parasol where each section is best represented by just one image, with groups of images collected at the end of each section. For the section on "Provenance", an image of the painting in the gallery would be ideal, preferably from a few meters away and at a slight angle rather than straight on. I want the image to elicit the sensation of viewing the painting in the museum, perhaps that feeling one gets when rounding a corner and walking into a gallery and seeing it for the first time. This is why adequate distance is so important; it allows the viewer to judge how tall and wide it is in reality. There’s a possibility that a good photo that does this could also be used to illustrate how it must have appeared during its initial Salon appearance in relation to other works. You mentioned factions. I see two factions: one for whom the feature is a given, and one who fights it. The latter is small but much more passionate. As there have been no battles in the last five or so years (until recently), we have hundreds of users who don't even know a conflict exists/existed. Gerda, your behaviour is disgraceful. You deliberately added an infobox to Robert le diable, a GA article, without any consultation. I have removed it. You know perfectly well, from your own history, that to do this sort of thing is unacceptable. In Talk:Jenny Lind a few days ago you wrote that "I admit that I added an infobox to Georg Solti, because I failed to look up who the principal editors were. I normally do, and leave the articles in peace, respecting their editors' wishes." It now turns out that this is completely untrue. You edited Robert le diable when you must clearly have seen who the princpal editor(s) were who brought it to GA. Please now leave this article in peace as you claim to do. User:Smerus, don’t you think you are being extremely rude by accusing Gerda of disgraceful behavior? Infoboxes are not for editors, they are for readers. And while there are any number of arguments against them based on design and presentation, at the end of the day we should write for the reader in mind. Personally, I have recently taken to the concept of auto-generated infoboxes linked to Wikidata for consistency and data integrity. See the infobox at Lise with a Parasol for one example of this usage. Ideally, this would mean that user preferences would determine infobox usage, not editors, making your argument moot. Suggestion for 7 weeks without
Borrowed from the time of Lent, a time of abstinence, which has been translated in a broader sense to "7 weeks without ...", I suggest that we try over the next 7 weeks to deal with infoboxes as with other content matter, and keep discussing them without personal comments. Treating infoboxes like other content was proposed by Voceditenore back in 2016, and is the best approach towards peace I've seen so far. The socalled infobox wars have ended long ago, but some are still fighting it seems. Today's featured article is Artemy Vedel, standing for Ukrainian music.

, was censored but performed from handwritten copies.
His is also a composer article with an infobox, the third TFA of that kind in 2023. Yesterday I added an infobox for an architect linked from the Main page, and the article's author sent me a thank-you click. For the opera, the edit summary said "suggest", and of course a suggestion can be refused, but preferably with a factual reason, not with personal aspersions. Jenny Lind has an infobox now per the wish of the community, as Tchaikovsky and Joyce among others, all of these boxes concise and well-curated, which seems the compromise we should go for. The concept was suggested in 2013 by Brian Boulton, on this talk page, called identibox. (Brian tried it first on Percy Grainger.) When I tried to clean up Raphael Wallfisch here on en, I found long quotes from copyrighted sources, and thought it best to completely revert Fu-Lank's edits and start over. I checked some of his edits on de, and some contain copyvio. I don't know what is permitted on de, nor how to deal with suspected copyvio there. It seemed the least intrusive way to deal with Fu-Lank's obvious COI edits was to list them all on Qualitätssicherung. Unfortunately, the articles themselves don't show the Qualitätssicherung templates I added because, you guessed it, I don't have permission to publish them! Ah, the Reger premiere was under the great Nikisch. In my Cambridge days rather more than 40 years ago, I visited a household in Grantchester where a delightful elderly lady had a chat with me about music. "Does anyone remember the name of Artur Nikisch?", she asked me - and I said well yes, I did, anyway, because I knew that he had developed such an important partnership with Elena Gerhardt at the start of her career, and had sort of breathed his musicianship into her readings of Schubert and Wolf, and I even managed to raise some enthusiasm for his handling in the Beethoven 5 recording. She said that before the first War she was going out in London with a young man, who took her to the entire season of Nikisch concerts (in 1912?). This goggled my imagination a bit, so I asked what she remembered of it. "Oh, he was a nice looking man with a handsome beard, and didn't wave his arms about too much!" I snooped around a bit. Almost all sources give July 17 as the premiere. The only two who give the 15th are Almanacco and one other Italian source. I don't need to write anything on the talk page, Wikpedia has no ownership (at least ideally), all content is free, make changes and explain in a good edit summary (which could include: per GA's talk page).
Now the poem: while it is a good text, I removed it (but it will be in the edit history), because Wikipedia is also very strict on copyright, and it's not clear who the author is. You could put it on a user page of yours, and link to it, - how is that? To write poetry, you just enclose a poem in <poem>your text</poem> and any formatting will be taken. Stravinsky edits
Hey there @Gerda Arendt, and thanks again for your help on Igor Stravinsky. In the past few hours, a large number of changes were made to the article by User:Aza24, and I'm not sure if all of them align with consensus. For starters, they cut a very large chunk of text regarding Stravinsky's unique use of orchestration, which I think is quite essential to understanding the unique style of Stravinsky. Additionally, the infobox was changed to Template:Infobox classical composer and the movements Stravinsky was involved in was replaced with occupation. I've left a message on their talk page, but I'm not sure how much I should say. I guess I'm asking three things: what are your thoughts on this, is it worth addressing, and if so, how should I go about doing so? As you probably know, the answer should not be found on user talk pages, but the article talk. For things that were in the article for a long time (I don't know the history but you do) you could revert and call for discussion. - In this case, you could also call for a peer review. For DYK, the limit of reserving in advance is six weeks, but I'm not sure if from nomination or approval. Today is the birthday of my brother, with whom I performed a memorable concert in the church not mentioned and not shown, - great coincidence! Wer bis an das Ende beharrt was sung in the concert, which promises becoming blessed to those who (stubbornly) "hold on until the end". (Deepl says: "who persevere".) I woke up thinking that it would be a good piece for my funeral ;) - Of the many choirs I sang with, three held concerts in that church: great memories! And now came this new conductor of a choir I never sang with and gave us the revelation of this piece. Singing will go on without me, DYK will go on without me, but when I have another story I have to tell, I come back. Bruckner's works on the German Wikipedia
Dear Gerda,
I find it very regrettable that pages of the German Wikipedia on Bruckner's works, apart from those on symphonies, are so sketchy or even totally absent.
This is the reason why I have, a few days ago, begun to thoroughly review the few drafts of articles that already existed on some of the Masses and the Requiem (not yet that on Mass No. 3 in F minor). I have also created, based on those on the English Wikipedia, articles on the remaining Masses, the Magnificat and the five Psalms, as well as descriptive lists on the works for piano and organ, as well as the motets and the secular choral works.
I am aware that the result is not perfect, given my non-optimal knowledge of the German language.
If you can find some time for it, I would be happy if you could have a look at the articles I have already reviewed or created.

Réginald, I looked at the Mass No. 1, doing some copy-editing. - Perhaps you can compare and change things in the other masses. Generally in de-WP:
work titles are italic, all of them
quotation marks should be German quotation marks
avoid sentences that are nice to know but have no immediate relevance (I commented one out).
I found the line about the intonations for Gloria and Credo - no time to check who wrote which.

About the intonations for Gloria and Credo, see e.g. Zum Schluss sei noch darauf hingewiesen, dass sowohl bei der Messe am Gründonnerstag, der 1. wie bei der 2. Messe wie auch bei der Missa solmenis der Anfangssatz von Gloria und Credo von Bruckner nicht mitkomponiert worden ist: In der katholischen Liturgie wird dieser Satz vom Priester gesagt bzw. gregorianisch gesungen, und dann erst setzt der Chor ein.

I checked it out, and sometimes laughed, forgive me. Vocabulary: scoring = Besetzung (while Hinrichtung is execution in a deadly sense, and Aufführung means performance), measure is Takt (not Maßnahme). Generic titles such as Kyrie don't need any quotations, and - as said above - in German it would be italic always, never quotation marks. For minor modes, the letter indicating the key is lower-case: f-Moll. I have a question that you probably know the answer to: I have been assuming that when a German church has no common name in English, but can be translated, then it should be, so "Peterskirche" would become "St. Peter's church" on en.wiki. Improvements to talk header
Hi Gerda! Following up from your comment here, I think the difficulty is that even seemingly non-controversial topics can have editing disputes, so it's hard to know where to draw the line and often better to be on the safe side. For truly hot topics, the trend I notice is that there are many different "this is a hot topic" banners (see my third bullet point here), so I'd like to see those all merged into one.
Also, {{Talk header}} has some deeper issues, as we were able to remove the line about signatures after automatic post signing was introduced, but this now means that there are only two lines in the white box (and the first one could probably just be replaced with a button), compared to four in the tan area to the side. Want to fix a reasonable sized edit to Voice type?
I was looking at the article Voice type, and saw that it has a few citation errors at the bottom. Research shows that those came from this edit, a few weeks ago, by User:TUJ51090 who says they are a student editor in a university Music class, and haven't edited in three weeks. So I don't think asking them will help, and yet I want to be kind to them. I looked at that edit, and besides the citation errors, which I may be able to figure out myself, it also added some things about singers that I'm not qualified to pass judgment on, and think you probably are. For one thing, that edit mostly changed all uses of "Male voices" and "Female voices" to "Bass voices" and "treble voices" (yes, mostly capital "Bass" and mostly lower case "treble", though with occasional spelling errors). Is that the common terminology in singing nowadays? It also added a sentence or two about transgender singers, so their motivation seems clear. Would you be able to look over that edit and fix things? If not, I can fix the spelling and Wikipedia mechanics mistakes, but I might make mistakes about the actual content, as I am not qualified to have opinions about voice types. WP:FA - I'm probably miles off, but that's my aim. I've just read Angeline Quinto, a featured article passed less than three months ago, and I've noticed that her article whizzes through her music career, with each album getting less than a paragraph each. I go into way more detail than that on Piri's article and all her notable singles and albums have articles, so doubly don't need them. I asked Sammi Brie, who approved her GA, and she suggested I ask someone with more experience on music FAs. Launchballer, I took a brief look, and find it promising. I'd look at image placement, - no sandwiching of text please, and to me they look pretty similar, perhaps one less might help. Images rearranged and one taken out (their placement was an artefact from when there used to be Loud LDN pictures in it); at 67% on my netbook, no images sandwich. The only remaining image aligned left depicts her pole dancing. The quote bunches very slightly, but given that they announced in the last two hours they're releasing their new single on Friday, and their new singles tend to get coverage, that should sort itself out. I've also completely rewritten the lede. I really ought to add timestamps to the online interviews at some point, preferably before nominating.--Launchballer 13:19, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Luckily, I found a new template format that allows for use of photos, so I took that beautiful sunset photo and orange border displayed the main page of the WikiProject and put them into the userbox, so we now have a userbox that hopefully captures the essential look and image you have created for the project.
I noticed that the new userbox also created a red-link category for WikiProject Quality Article Improvement, so I punched in "WikiProject Quality Article Improvement" and I noticed that now it automatically shows a directory of the pages that are linked to it. So, hopefully once everyone in the project gets a chance to put the new userbox on their user page, all of their names will appear in the directory in the category. Thanks! Thank you very much, and I am close to using it, although I was determined to only have one user box: Kafka. I'd like it better without a border, and I'd like it better with a big QAI and a small full project name. I also think that it should be only on user pages, not subpages.
Did you know that we also called the project "the cabal of the outcast"? You may have seen that its founders, PumpkinSky are Br'er Rabbit are blocked and banned. The image appeared first here, where the now banned (whose name was Alarbus then) called for unblocking the other, and the discussion that lead to it is on my user page under Reformation. (The unblock eventually happened then, by 28bytes). We won new members such as Alakzi, who said best what makes us a group (that's on the project page, and in my edit notice), and then left. I miss them and carry on. People still around from the beginning are Ched, Montanabw, Keilana and Wehwalt, but only the latter is very active. With Andy (Pigsonthewing) joining, recommended by RexxS, we won a bad reputation as infobox warriors. See Talk:Pilgrim at Tinker Creek#Infobox. Andy was almost banned in the infoboxes arbcase (which began on 17 July 2013, requested by Ched to deal with resistence to the then new {{infobox opera}}. Summary: the user box - carrying the memory of the outcast - is something members may display not with pride but in defiance ;)

I didn't realize that there was such a tragic, yet fascinating, history in the early days of the project. I'm sorry to hear about some of the difficulties of some of the founders. August 2023 Good Article Nominations backlog drive
I wish we had images of her singing throughout the years in the article. I wish Wikipedia foundation could do more about this problem, perhaps by making agreements with Getty or other orgs to license some photos for free use on Wikipedia. You're looking for a reason, but there isn't one. I just read through the archived discussion from 2016 because you made me curious. It's just ridiculous. A lot of people think being stubborn and non-accommodating is a part of their identity. I will never understand it, but that's the issue. Anyway, it's moot, as the problem was solved by User:Maddy from Celeste with the creation of disinfobox.js in April.[6] See also: Help:Infobox/user style. I'm convinced people intentionally put roadblocks in front of solutions for no good reason. There's something deeply broken with humanity, but we all have to come to that realization on our own. The centenary Ring was a very influential production. I can remember that it was broadcast by the BBC one act at a time. Musically it was rather uneven. When I went to my first Ring that same year at Covernt Garden (a production by Götz Friedrich with Colin Davis conducting,) I can remember trying to avoid Gwyneth Jones (soprano) and finding Berit Lindholm's voice just as flawed. Jean Cox was Siegfried and I think Donald McIntyre may have been Wotan and Zoltan Kelemen Alberich.

Thank you, - I just saw Götterdämmerung then, so the scene pictured from another angle, and her stage presence was stronger than her voice ;) - in 2023, they had two singers for Brünnhilde, but withour seeing them, I wasn't tempted to write articles (which they also have already) - Wagner demanded the impossible I think. - Today's story: the orchestra playing in Der Ring in Minden, where I saw the piece last, and Dara Hobbs was up to it, and my brother and his colleague played the first note of Rheingold. I wrote many articles of singers of that production. Dear Gerda, I wanted to open here a communication channel for discussions between us that are not strictly part of the Rachel Yakar GA review and should therefore not clutter up the review page, which will be kept permanently with the article, whereas here you can simply delete the disussion when it has served its purpose.
I wanted to talk to you about using Sfn. I am, just like you, a big fan of Sfn or "shortened footnotes" as they are called (see {{Use shortened footnotes}}). I find it very useful to have a list of sources. I use Sfn since several years and in many cases I have asked the major contributors of an article to allow me to change the citation style from whatever it was to using Sfn (see e.g. Talk:Lady Joan Fitzgerald).
I recently also became a fan of "List-defined references" (see {{Use list-defined references}}), which results in a much more readable code. I disagree with people who say it does not matter how the code looks, I often work on the code. Recently, I learned how to combine "Shorted footnotes" with "List-defined footnotes" and that is what I use now (see Antoine Hamilton. For Rachel Yakar, in this "combined style", the entry for the first page of the GSL in the References section would become:

William Robinson Leigh
I just ran across an article that may interest you. It's an American artist named William Robinson Leigh. He was born a year after the American Civil War ended, and was raised in the South as it recovered from the war by a religious (it didn't take), conservative family, and studied for years at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich. Interestingly, it was his experience in the natural region of the Tyrol that would eventually attract him to landscape painting and the American West, which he became famous for when he returned to the US. Strangely, he was one of the first artists to depict aliens on another planet (Mars) as an illustrator for an essay by H. G. Wells. Although the work is not appreciated or recognized by art historians, it is visionary in the sense that he tried to imagine an alien world...in 1908, quite a feat for its time. The DYK credit says - as all of them but I strike it - "if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it". Here, I saw many interesting facts, and requested Storye book to be the bridge between me and DYK. I said which of two suggestions I liked, and if simply approved, I could have proudly presented something like this
in my stories yesterday, presenting path of career, repertoire, connected famous conductor (also hinting at the time), and the drama, while carefully avoiding a title in German, a role name, too much detail. But not with DYK as it currently runs. After discussions in the nomination, on the DYK talk, in the nomination again, and with the promoting admin, I spent a silent day yesterday, feeling helpless and ashamed that we had nothing better to say about one of few sopranos (ever) in demand worldwide as Brünnhilde, - nothing about her voice, nor achievements. I wouldn't sweat the DYK hook: I don't know about the particulars in this case and I don't want to offend the DYK regulars, but sometimes I just don't know about the priorities and what ultimately gets promoted to the main page. But none of that detracts from the quality you have presently brought the article itself too, and it's that kind of quality mainspace editing that in part inspired me to take a moment to recognize your efforts, if that helps at all. You've done much more for her legacy (as with many other similar women, and others) in that fashion anyway.

My source was the Who is Who is Serbia 1996, which was compiled from the questionnaires filled by the selected persons themselves: "lead singer (prvakinja) of the National Theater's Opera; guest at Metroplitan Opera in New York (permanent member), Vienna Opera, Bolshoi Theater (permanent guest)". Some news outlets, and including the lengthy obituary by National Theater [7], say that "for a few years she was member of Bolshoi...", but she clearly made a distinction. Yugoslav Musical Encyclopedia simply says she sang at Bolshoi. There are also these [8][9]. I searched for Russian news on her death, they say she was a "guest soloist in Moscow..." [10] Now, there is a monograph on Stojanović by Rаško V. Jovanović, published in 2012. On pages 156-188 it lists "all roles of Milka Stojanović" and I've tried unsuccessfully to get it today. List of compositions by Felix Mendelssohn
Hi friend! Thank you for the 'thanks' on my recent edits, much appreciated! Though I thought I should probably share what I'm mainly working on at the moment, because it seems like it is perhaps not on your radar (it has so many errors, omissions etc. etc. so thats why I know you probably arent aware of it! plus I also dont see any of your edits). It's the article List of compositions by Felix Mendelssohn and... yeah... its been a bit of a struggle! I was working on it too several years ago (at school haha!) and its just SUCH a huge job. This is mainly because everything seems to be there in the 'list by opus number', but there were/are? missing works in the 'list by genre'. List of works by genre is how I personally prefer to discover the ouvre of a composer, and I think its an excellent way for people to do so, as they can pick their favourite genres, so that is why I've been working on that so heavily and trying to make is clearer. Anyway, I'm sure you'll be able to see there are still some things I've not gotten round to; the composition dates of many of the lieder/songs, including the MWV number on every work etc. Though to be honest, in the long-term (I don't have the sort of time commitment to do it right now!) a completely new article, or that one started again from scratch, in the style of the List of compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach article but using the MWV catalogue would be absolutely exceptional. It's a really great catalogue, im sure you've encountered it before :) catalogue

Reger works: sortable, so those who want by op. no. can have it, and those who go be genre the same, and changes can be made at one place, not two. Yes, I've used the Reger works list before and its a great one. I just wish there was enough interest to do a similar sortable table for Mendelssohn using the new MWV catalogue. The MWV catalogue is very similar to the Haydn 'Hob' catalogue, but instead of roman numeral : number, its letter : number, thats the only difference. The letters each correspond to a genre. But yes, you're right, that it probably isn't too feasable with the little interest in his works right now, which to me is dissapointing.
I hope that I've improved the current article though. I know that all his works aren't listed there, but I'd say all his main and most important ones are, and I hope I've improved the navigation and ease of use. FlyingScotsman72 (talk) 07:02, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

UndercoverClassicist, regarding the GA for Robert Hale: on a train with an IP mistrustd by Wikipedia, I can only edit this page (and after arrival will have other things to do), quite generally: Thank you for detailed replies! I believe the charm of Wikipedia is that we can keep things short for people who know, and offer links for those who don't. Example: my story today is Jessye Norman, because of her birthday. We just say that she portrayed Cassandre in Les Troyens by Berlioz, without explaining what kind of character the role is, how important the opera, how important the role within it, how important the composer, - although all highly important ;) - Some readers will know all this and would be bored by an extra paragraph. (And that's just one opera mentioned.) Therefore I believe we should not add "regarded as one of the world's most prestigious operatic competitions" to all (c. 200) places where Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions is linked. If it helps you I could add "competition" after the name, but it's a pompous term already, and clearly not a simple audition, just by that name. Salome, towards the end: I'd rather take no example than condense the plot, which has nothing to do with him. Re Städtische Bühnen Frankfurt: The title of Brauneck (2016) is Die Welt als Bühne: Geschichte des europäischen Theaters, not Politik und Theater in Frankfurt, Stuttgart und Bochum. Fischer-Lichte (2017) is indeed titled Tragedy's Endurance: Performances of Greek Tragedies and Cultural Identity in Germany since 1800, so what is "Die Welt als Bühne: Geschichte des europäischen Theaters"? I even wonder if we should really quote such an overly rich wording. See, that's exactly what's wrong about the perception of the whole topic ;) - The controversies of years before were overcome by then, check the archives. But beware, it's a lot of reading.
2007 Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Opera/Archive 32 - this was two years before I even joined, and it took until 2012 until I noticed the conflict, because where I worked, there were no infoboxes
- just for starters. It does take some patience. Another story about patience: In 2013, for Wagner's centenary, I created an infobox for him on his talk page to remain on that talk page. Even that was regarded as sort of a sacrilege, see the arbcase. I had a bet open that Wagner would have an infobox by 2020. 2020 came, and I didn't care anymore. In 2023, he got an infobox. They will come without me. - Now, seriously, without RfC ado, you could tell Project Classical music, with a notification from Project Composers, that Project Opera abandoned the clause long ago, and it would be nice if these sister projects handled it the same way. One can always try ;) - The number of those dogmatically opposing infoboxes is small, and they are not heavily involved in Classical music. Percy Grainger, who left Australia at the age of 13 to attend Hoch's Conservatorium, played a prominent role in the revival of interest in British folk music in the course of a long and innovative career.
While our means to achieve peace in the world (look above) may be limited, what can we do to achieve peace at least in our community here? You may have heard (or not if you came later) that there are the infobox wars, with a related arb case in 2013. My guiding light towards peace, or at least compromise, is Brian Boulton.
Ten years ago, on 29 October 2013, soon after the case closed, he offered a compromise infobox for his featured article Percy Grainger, a classical composer, announced on this talk page.

Let's see. I have no idea of the subject. I see that you made two edits, one looks like two things, adding new content to the lead, which is always a bad idea (it should go to the body, the lead should be a summary), and removing the page number of an existing reference, not a good idea. The other edit seems to add two cities without a source (while the source provided has one, and you made it look as if the source referenced your two as well), bad idea, and both known enough not to need a link, not a god idea, and removed a duplication. I found Boulton’s essay, and I have to say I don’t at all see how it would convince anyone who doesn’t particularly like infoboxes otherwise, since the core point is basically “infoboxes are cruft magnets and need aggressive regulation”, which is THE go-to argument of the oppose crowd (which takes it to the logical conclusion). I see that the essay offers no support for an article without infobox, which was revolutionary at the time - one week before the infoboxes arbcase was accepted. - If you have more time for reading, try the discussion for The Rite of Spring (FA by Brian), which has the opposition arguments in a nutshell, example "Please let's not add another eyesore to another beautifully crafted article." Thank you! - Yesterday I looked into old stuff and found this interesting conversation, and if you click into the praised edit (in the box), you may even find material for getting rid of the project limitation of free editing (Nature of WikiProjects, Ownership), - and all this in the infoboxes arbcase, only the arbs didn't read it, or didn't understand it, or didn't want to hear it.
The case was so kafkaesque that "Ich steh hier und singe" was all I could say. It was a great pleasure to hear it performed today! I can't find anything about "scores" on the Template:Interlanguage link documentation. Should Cewbot be modified so that this does not pop up as error? The Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis is not any longer listed on the latest database report – although I must admit I only understand this in case of Sei Lob und Preis mit Ehren because this text was changed, but not in case of Mylius which was not changed since the previous run of the Cewbot. My story today is about Mozart's Requiem, the music we will sing today, on the last Sunday in the church year. The text in Mozart's handwriting on that page says "fac eas, Domine, de morte transire ad vitam", tough to translate, perhaps: make them, Lord, go over from death to life. - I sang in the performance mentioned. Then, the Requiem was coupled with Bach's Ich will den Kreuzstab gerne tragen, BWV 56. Today, we'll listen to the strings playing Pärt's Fratres leading into the Requiem without a break, and to Da pacem Domine leading into the Agnus Dei. - We don't just sing a concert, we remember the dead. You're welcome, Gerda! I do think you have a very good point; we could all do with being a bit more patient sometimes. Recently I have found myself frequently reminded of what it was like for me starting out as a young Wikipedia editor, and thus how important it is that we assume good faith and are not harsh on new editors. And, when it comes to conflict, it is always best to remain calm and civil. At the same time, I'm somebody who needs to get things done as soon as I have a good idea of where I am headed - this was certainly true of my academic endeavours, and I can also imagine that's what Luther and Speratus were thinking when they wrote those hymns! I am currently creating an article about an English woman who was awarded the Bundesverdienstkreuz Erster Klasse, or Order of Merit First Class of the Federal Republic of Germany, in 1952.
