AN/I
Hi, this is to let you know that I have mentioned your name at
- Thank you for letting me know about this. I did not think it was a problem to take things off my own talk page, especially since anyone who wants to can check the history. I had added some wording to the est page that was accurately sourced in two reliable publications, but I didn't add the quotes to indicate it was the exact language. I was really taken aback by the accusation of plagiarism and copyright violation without any discussion of how to include my input to improve the article. I felt like I was being attacked. I didn't go back to making any more edits on the est page after that, and I edited my talk page because I didn't like the vitriol of Cirt's comments sitting there.--MLKLewis (talk) 20:27, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
- I sympathise. Per Wikipedia:Talk_page_guidelines#Others.27_comments (see the last point: "Personal talk page cleanup"), you are well within your rights to archive or delete posts from your own user talk page. --JN466 20:37, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

In particular, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. MLKLewis, note that I have referred to your current dispute here. (This is without prejudice to the appropriateness or otherwise of your content edits.) --JN466 15:41, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
MLK, would you have citation data for the two reviews you mentioned on the Werner Erhard (book) talk page a few weeks ago? Cheers, --JN466 19:19, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, I do. I also responded on the talk page at Werner Erhard (Book) - Psychology Today - "How Werner Got It", by Morris B. Parloff, Psychology Today, November 1978. p. 136. and the Gale: "William Warren Bartley, III," Contemporary Authors Online. Detroit: Gale 2001. Literature Resource Center. - Thanks --MLKLewis (talk) 01:50, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
Doing my research and finding articles such as this about the film, I used that source and others to improve the article.. turning the original unsourced stub into a decent C-class article. I invite you to The Diary of Sacco and Vanzetti to see if the changes from this to THIS meet your concerns toward the original's lack of content and sources. We are currently running a study on the effects of adding additional information to SuggestBot's suggestions. Participation in the study is voluntary. Should you wish to not participate in the study, or have questions or concerns, you can find contact information on the SuggestBot study page.
IMPORTANT CHANGES: We have modified the selection of articles SuggestBot suggests and altered the design to incorporate more information about the articles, as described in this explanation.
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information.
Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions
We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:
- Views/Day
- Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
- Quality
- Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.
The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:
- Content
- Is more content needed?
- Headings
- Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
- Images
- Is the number of illustrative images about right?
- Links
- Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
- Sources
- For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?

Disambiguation link notification for August 9
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Underground Railroad, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Thirteenth Amendment (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

WE Edit, Jan 2014
Hi MLK - I noted your reversion of the word "controversial" to the lede of the Erhard article and your edit summary that it doesn't belong there. I still don't understand your rv. That Erhard is controversial is a simple and unslanted fact, and it is a significant aspect of his "notability" and has been almost from the beginning of his public career. Since the point is sourced, I think you need more of a justification to remove it. However - I am not undoing your rv because it seems proper to discuss such a change here with you first. I was contemplating doing a total re-write of the lede to bring it more into line with the dual aspects of E's career but thought that the simple addition of the word "controversial" was probably sufficient for the moment. However, without it, the lede is not sufficiently factually balanced to present an overview of E and the article, and I think we'll have to begin the laborious process of rewriting the opening accurately in a manner that upon which and other editors can agree. regards, Sensei48 (talk) 21:22, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
Hello Sensei. I removed the word because it simply doesn't belong there. He is not a controversial author. He has written quite a bit of work and none of it is controversial. In fact, there haven't been any controversies surrounding Erhard in several decades. This should be an encyclopedic article about a living man and his body of work, and should be written conservatively, with regard to doing no harm. As for balance - the balance that this article needs to represent is the balance of his life and work, just as other biographies of living persons do. That other people tried to embroil him in controversies is handled in the article already, but that does not define or illustrate who Erhard is. regards --MLKLewis (talk) 01:00, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
Hi there MLK and Sensei -- I received a note that led me to see that my edit was removed. I agree with Sensei, and think it is reasonable to restore my edit. It isn't harmful to say someone is controversial -- especially when they have pushed the boundaries of knowledge. I hope you will reconsider, and allow me to restore my edit. Thanks, 24.128.48.240 (talk) 15:25, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
What note did you receive? What I see on your talk page is a message from the user Cirt who was banned by the wikipedia community from editing this topic. If you want to discuss editing any article on Wikipedia you should create an account or log in to one that you have so that you can be accountable for your editing and conversations. To answer your question, though, while the est training might have been controversial in its time, it just isn't accurate to say that Erhard is controversial, when there hasn't been any controversy in several decades. --MLKLewis (talk) 03:05, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 20
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jack Sarfatti, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Michael Murphy. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm Legacypac. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Landmark Worldwide without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Objective vs Subjective:
Subjective information is one person's opinion. In a newspaper, the editorial section is the place for subjectivity. It can be based on fact, but it is one person's interpretation of that fact. In this way, subjective information is also analytical.
Student research papers are usually subjective, in that the writer formulates a thesis statement and uses sources that support that thesis. Bear in mind that there is usually another equally valid viewpoint that can be supported with other sources.
Objective information reviews many points of view. It is intended to be unbiased. News reporters are supposed to be objective and report the facts of an event. Encyclopedias and other reference materials provide objective information. from https://www.lib.odu.edu/genedinfolit/1infobasics/subjective_vs_objective.html MLKLewis (talk) 20:46, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 9
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Samuel Joseph May, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Unitarian Church. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Werner Erhard. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Werner Erhard
Hi @
- @Scope creep Please say what part of the material you removed you see as promotional Again the more specific you are the better we can work together. MLKLewis (talk) 02:50, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
- The first three references are interviews and seem him relaunching his career. We can go through all the references in that block if you want. The rest of the references are less than salubrious. Its not well sourced at all. scope_creepTalk 07:23, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
- Here is the content I put back in to the article about Erhard's work in the Soviet Union after you removed it along with other material about Erhard's later work. "In 1993, Erhard participated in a Larry King Live episode titled "Whatever Happened to Werner Erhard?" via satellite from Moscow, where he was working with the All Union Knowledge Society and a number of the members of the newly formed Russian parliament. What possibly could be seen as POV here (or promotional)?
- The references for this are not from interviews. They are from reputable sources:
