The

People's Republic of China, the unofficial representative offices' titles do not have the word "Taiwan", except for unofficial representative offices from Papua New Guinea, Somaliland, Oman, Japan, and the United States.[2] During the Japanese colonial period, a number of countries including the Republic of China and the United States of America maintained consulates in Taipei.[3]
