    The Mission Dam is a dam on the Hiwassee River currently operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority in south-western North Carolina. It was completed in 1924 by a local group to provide municipal hydroelectric power to the area of Andrews, North Carolina.[1] It was later acquired by NP&L[2] In the 1940s, it was taken over by TVA as they assumed control of all dams on the Tennessee River and all its tributaries. It no longer provides hydroelectric power, but is used for stream and flood management.

    Eastport, Mississippi was a steamboat landing and town in Tishomingo County, Mississippi about 8 miles (13 km) northeast of Iuka, Mississippi on the south bank of the Tennessee River. It was a significant port for river boats during the 1850's and a "beautiful place" that had three to four hundred houses and businesses. It was destroyed by November 1863 with only two houses remaining habitable according to a witness' account.[1] During the Civil War, it was an debarkation point for Union forces following the battles of Shiloh and Corinth as they moved troops and supplies for the Mississippi Campaign.

    Beardstown, Tennessee

    Well first the battle at Beardstown was seperate from burning the court house it happened in 1864. It was really more of an all day skirmish. Between a Regt. of Forrests calvary and the yankees. I think it was the 19th Biffles Regt. The courthouse burning was in 1863. And it was planned by Perry county company who were in Fielding Hurst's 6th TN Federal calvary. Thats why it went so smooth for them. There was another fight in Linden in 1864 when a troop from Forrest ran through it on a fast raid in 1864 too. Perry county troops were extremely effective and involved in a lot of major battles. The 10th TN was one of Forrests best and orginally raised largely in Perry and Hickman counties. The courthouse burning is interesting because it is considered one of the earliest examples of amphbious warfare in America. But the idea was just to snap up a Confederate outpost and dystroy the land records. Most fighting in Perry county was pretty vicious guerilla and calvary fighting. Like the county history says by 1864 both sides had largely stopped taking prisoners. My grandfathers knew the old stories and both knew surviving veterans when little.
    About 1824, John Horner, Elbert Matthews, Jerry Holligan, and James Wilkins and their families settled on the Buffalo River near what was to become Beardstown.
    Beardstown was established in 1830 and named after George Beard its first merchant. It is located on the west side of the Buffalo River about 8 miles below Linden.
    Lobelsville is a post-village on the west side of the Buffalo River about 5 miles below Beardstown. It was established in 1854 and named after Henry de Lobel, a French immigrant. There were 3 stores and a combined church and schoolhouse.

    "On July 11, the City Council unanimously approved a professional services contract with Texas-based Kendig Keast Collaborative to develop a comprehensive 20 year plan for the city. In addition to citizen input, the plan will include the appointment of a task force from a broad cross-section of citizens, officials said.

    Past plans included land use for Salem, Blackman and Maney Avenue, plans for wastewater facilities, and a major thoroughfare plan. This is the first community plan since 1987.

    KKC has proposed including the community in the process, using a grassroots marketing campaign, community meetings, outreach efforts, workshops and the use of technology to gather citizen input. Final plan elements, developed over 18 to 24 months to document the city's goals and objectives, will include transportation, land use, housing and neighborhoods, parks and recreation, public facilities, historic preservation, and economic development focused on population growth and infrastructure.

    The plan will provide guidance for a unified development code, parks and recreation master plan, and a water resources integration plan.

    A Softography is a comprehensive list of the software made by a particular software engineer or organization. A Softography may appear in a resumé, or Curriculum vitae, or web site. The entries are typically ordered in reverse-chronological order. There is no standard for the entries to have associated descriptions and supporting notes.

    Etymology

    The term Softography was apparently a natural outgrowth of terms such as Discography and Biography by makers of computer software.

    Suitability for inclusion in Wiktionary

    Since Softography is a relatively new term it deserves examination.

    • "Softography" is not a Protologism: there are numerous examples of its use across the globe softographies
    • Attested: most of the usage of this term will naturally occur in the electronic media, rather than traditional paper publications.
    • It is in clearly widespread use among software developers, software consumers, and anyone having occasion to read resumés, curricula vitae, and web sites summarizing the history of a software producer.
    • Independence has been checked.
    • The term is in use for at least 1 year, probably originating in the early 1980's.

    A softography is a

    designer. The term, used since at least July 1995,[1]

    [2] is distinct from "videography" and "cinematography", two mass nouns for processes within the cinematic arts.

    Filmographies are not limited to associations with particular people. For example, the Handbook of American Film Genres (

    motion pictures that played a role in fueling the Red Scare, in propagandizing the threat of Communism and in a few rare and rather veiled cases, in standing up to the charges of the House Committee on Un-American Activities."[4]

    Another example is the filmography published by a library director at Brigham Young University–Idaho of over 500 films "that in some significant or memorable way include a library or librarian", a filmography assembled to better understand Hollywood's stereotypes of librarians.[5] The Georgia Department of Economic Development, whose responsibilities include promoting film production in the U.S. state of Georgia, maintains a filmography of such films.[6]

    Softography is the study and cataloging of published

    computer software
    , often by specified artists or within identified computer software categories. The exact information included varies depending on the type and scope of the softography, but a softography entry for a specific recording will often list such details as the

    names of the artists involved, the time and place of the recording, the title of the piece performed, release dates, chart positions, and sales figures.[7]

    A softography can also refer to the recordings catalogue of an individual artist, group, or orchestra.

    The term "discography" was popularized in the 1930s by collectors of jazz records. Jazz fans did research and self-published discographies about when jazz records were made and what musicians were on the records, as record companies did not commonly include that information on or with the records at that time. Two early jazz discographies were Rhythm on Record by Hilton Schleman and Hot Discography by Charles Delaunay.[7][8]

    A compilation of an artist's music videos or video releases can be referred to as a "videography".
